  1. IMO you'll need some more seed rock and some good seasoned sand for a boost, heck you could probably add most of the sand you have unless your changing color/size/shape. One little piece isn't going to be enough bacteria to handle the load of even a med sized prawn, It would be a verry s l o w cycle. Lights out or you'll have unnessary algae that takes a long time to leave dry rock. The longer you wait the better off you'll be. Just let it do it's thing. IMHO min. of one month. It's hard, believe me I know but thats one of the best lessons TIM (westside) taught me. Once your ammonia/nitrites drop to nitrate you'll need to keep feeding the bacteria or put one small fish in and slowly add the rest of your stuff. Just early morning rambling.
  2. I'm looking for a Purple Plasma That I lost from an order from fantastic frags. Anyone have some?
  3. SPS CORAL colonies................................................
  4. From my experience my deep deminsion Starfire Marineland hasn't done me wrong (25og) but thier supposed to be coming out with a new design (bigger) With a closed loop system they'd be hard to beat, with a warrenty and all. Thier stands are a little short though cause any bigger and they wont fit through a doorway. Must've never occured to the to make it in two pieces. JMO
  5. Do you know the name of the coral in the pic under the green stag? I have that and it has grown to have some amazing colors in HIGH light. (Loripes maybe?) Hopefully you'll know.
  6. Ya I see'em all the time, just wondered if anyone had any hard data on the actual savings. I run 4.
  7. I have a chalice I got from tim (westside aquariums) 1 1/2- 2yrs ago that he named the "westside sunset" It was a one eye/mouth piece a bit smaller than a quarter priced at $50. As some of you know I'm running4 400w Radiums + 2 60" 140w VHO's and 2 80w 72" t-5's, point being its an SPS only tank and with the low available nutrients except what I put in it's not ideal conditions for this piece. I kept it in the shade for most the time i've had it. But recently had a nitrate rise that spurred it's coloring and growth. It's light pinkish/red with a deep orange eye/mouths (like the sun) but has since started to develope several more eyes/mouths and spread out. AS you can tell i'm not a chalice kinda guy. I'd like to see this go to a home more suitable for growing chalices where it can thrive. PM me if interested.
  8. I'm having a similiar issue with a MP-40 because of small amounts of water over time. Thats why I'm looking for someone that upgraded to the ES so I can try and get thier old card. Good Luck.
  9. Contemplating,1/2hp Pacific coast chiller the C-0500, LIKE N E W condition. Was only used on a freshwater system in an office type setting (dentist/dr.) where it wasn't really needed. The list goes on forever. It will take me some time to get majior things listed, and depending on responses I'll make a post in the Classifieds.
  10. Electronic device to make your reefkeeper Lite/Elite wireless between the system and your USB on your computer.
  11. PLease PM me as I was informed it will need to be moved to General discussion and I dont knoe if it will survive. Especially Kimberlee so I can explain the complete O3 "package".
  12. I'm looking to replace a softball sized colony I lost :( . So I was hoping I could find someone willing to let a nice sized piece go weather for $ or trade ect. Since thier not uncommon I hope this happens. Thanks Harold B.
  13. This is someone simply interested in a cross section of owners while trying to decide what to buy. I can't in any way validate any one elses experiences but my own. You can't please everyone. I've seen that thread in the past. I'm aware of the waiting as software was delayed which stirred up alot of negative stuff. Like I said in my own personal experiences 1-10 = 8.5. JMO
  14. I have several sm-med sized bags of bio balls (black/blue) that I most likely will never use, as well as a med sized ziplock bag of ceramic "rings". PM me maybe we can meet. I'd need a chance to gather them as some are here at home some at storage ect. Thanks Harold B
  15. Ya, my intention was to just feel the "market" out, see if there might be any interest before going ahead with the legnthy time consumng process of listing everything w/descriptions, pics & prices. As there seems to be alot of things "for sale" at the present time. I should not have put the words FOR SALE in the title. MOD could you please remove those words from the title. Thankyou Harold B. (No harm intended)
  16. I'm looking to switch out my current bluewave ballasts (running Radiums) for Galaxy/coralvue ballasts. I know these ballasts are the BEST to run these bulbs but would like to cut electricity useage any and everywhere possible. Question, are the savings in electricity between these ballasts worth the hassle/$ ? Thanks in advance Harold B
  17. This is the best example showing pics and info of the Helious T-5 fixtures I have. Mine are the 80w version. Helious T-5 III fixture / model: HO 80w-R 59". I have two, wished I could have used them on a long frag tank, endless possibilities, or verry CLEAN looking light to just set on top outside with MH hanging over center. viaaquaoceanpure.com/t5light/HOT5III_fixture.html
  18. Hi I'm testing the waters as far as some equitment I have: Avast Marine Ozone reactor (like new), Sanders Ozonator (everything you'd need), 2 reefoptix reflectors, 55g acrylic tank w/oak stand (great cond.),Misc. acrylic reactors for DIY'ers (endless possibilities). A Reeflo Dart beyond Excellant cond., bought new from Reeflo 2-72" enclosed Helious T-5 units, complete sealed units just plug-n-play, They have their own ballasts inside, nice reflector above bulb, all inclosed in a nice black case. Perfect for "setting directly on top of a 125/150g acrylic/glass tank as there is no mounting required. I do however have hangers ect that came with'em. The only reason I'm getting rid of them is I can't mount them inside my canopy on my 250g, they have to sit on top quite far from the water with reflectors ect obstructing the light. I plan on adding end caps and 5 ft t-5 to the inside of my tank so I would enterain a trade on the helious's for T-5 reflectors, ballasts (WH 5-7's),super blue/super actinic bulbs ect. I'll be adding to this as I come across stuff and adding pics as I find them online or take'em myself. Other stuff like Magnum 250 canister filter, just all kinds of stuff. Thanks Harold
  19. I've had numerous encounters with thier customer service, only one time did I feel that it could've been handled better. Overall personal rating 1-10= 8.5 I'd love to "hear" of numerous accounts of them throwing to the wayside thier verry own customers that have paid the initial pricey expence to get set-up with thier system. After all the system is designed to be a "growing" evolving system, the loss of customers in a buisness plan like that doesn't make a bit of sence. As I would imagine it's built around future sales of newly released products to go along with the "base system. I have a few good things you can hear, how about FREE replacement of PC-4, Free shipping to the and back to fix an issue with the head unit kinking bus cables (which has since been resolved in later versions) Not to mention thier website based model where they have people basically 24hr/7days a week to help in any way possible. I do like the APEX don't get me wrong. But DA is not a monster an I believe they will go the extra mile for thier customers. JMO THanks Harold B.
  20. Mine has 2 workhorse 5's just remove the 4 outer screws and look. Cover comes right off.
  21. I've had them do some nice things for me as well. I run a full RKE system. Plus they're close so it only takes a couple days shipping ect.
  22. Thanx, I'm always concerned about our water here and glad to get info like this. I remember not so long ago for some "mysterious" reason everybodies SPS were failing/dying for unexplained reasons? Just happened to be the beginings of the current open water resoviour issue that was under investigation. Huh? FACT, FAKED, OR PARANORMAL........we'll never know.
  23. Does it have "service port(s)" I would definately start with a through clean up of everything. Does that brand offer Parts for that particular model?
  24. OK, ya I wasn't sure if there was a bulk type way to go about obtaining some. Ya know sometimes there are ways to get things little cheaper in larger amounts. Maybe even locally, but I kinda doubt that. Just don't want to have to buy it "by the granual", ha ha if ya know what I mean. Thanks. P.S Reefnjunkie: Hope your tank project is doing good!
