  1. Nice. My Full Sail turned out great, but in a side-by-side with the original, I can taste how having it in a chiller for fermentation would make it better. Definitely a good beer though! Anyone know where I can get a recipe for a Samuel Smiths Pale Ale clone?
  2. None of the Meth heads I've seen look happy...lol.
  3. For tangs, it is not about the size of the tank vs the size of the fish, it's that they need a certain horizontal swimming space, regardless of fish size. You want at least 4" long or they get really stressed out.
  4. Reminds me of my old job... :]
  5. Actually I know a GREAT park in Eugene that we can go to. I like newfisher's idea of a potluck, and he and I can make our famous hot dogs (we promise- on speedo's this time). We can hang out at the park and check out the local wildlife, and do a frag swap? I'm sure someone would be happy to do some sort of presentation as well. Let me know what you think!

    I have ICK!!!

Blue Tangs and ich are like this thread and drama...They go hand in hand. I wouldn't be too worried if you see ich on a blue tang, I would be more shocked if yours never got it. Fish normally can fight off the parasite without any help at all, which is why all fish normally don't have it or get it. When an environmental factor stresses the fish, their natural defenses drop and the parasite can then feed.
  7. Too bad...That salmon sticker on the front adds about 25 HP to the motor...
  8. My buddy works for a company that had a boat on the show...He said they kept asking the captains to drive to remote places and tried to get them to go out in dangerous weather and such. Also he said that they REALLY overplayed the whole greenhorn thing.
  9. Just make sure when you apply it you are holding the wound closed. In my youth I once held a cut open while applying superglue...felt like I had a splinter in my finger for a few weeks.
  10. Newfisher has a Cleaner Wrasse for sale. But keep it away from lionfish...
  11. I moved a 180 (Lee Mar) a while back - roughly 300 lbs. Took three people to get it from the store to the bed of a truck.
  12. Can Newfisher and I wear our speedos?
  13. Springfield is great - you can get a nice place to sleep, as well as get your meth fix as well!
  14. I heard you can put a 7.3l Power Stroke in there...
  15. Shark Reef is amazing, Lawrys is pretty insane as well - I used to work across the street from there and we would hit the lunch menu once in a while. If you can, sometimes there are courtesy shuttles from the airport to the Red Rock casino, way up on the west side of town. There is a BBQ place there called the Salt Lick that is pretty good as well. Across Charleston from the Red Rock is a place called Islands. REALLY good burgers. Like I tell everyone, Vegas is great for about 3 days. After that you run out of things to do.
  16. Pea Puffers (Dwarf Puffers) are fine in full freshwater. You want to get at least 5-6 because they are pretty aggressive, and if you have just 2 or 3 you will eventually end up with just one. My recommendation would be to get a Figure-8 puffer. They live in brackish water (1.010-1.017 salinity, but they don't mind fluctuations) and get about 4-6" long full grown. I kept one in a 10g tank for 6 years. With puffers (toby puffers excluded) you don't want to get more than one. They are very aggressive. When you look at a tank full of puffers in a LFS, look at their tail and pectoral fins - Most will be missing a LOT of fin.
  17. Anyone interested in some instruments? Midi keyboard (USB) - $50 Essex 5-string Bass (Blue, same thing as a Fender Squier) - $75 Flight case for bass - $25 Mexican Fender Strat (Sunburst, in perfect condition, kept in a case its whole life) - $225 Flight case for guitar - $25
  18. As long as it is within camera view, it is acceptable.
  19. You can use an electric drum kit as a wave controller. It is all over reefcentral in the DIY section.
  20. Tetra is low grade carbon. It can leach phosphates and silicates into the water. Go with Marineland Black Diamond carbon or something better quality along those lines. Also freshwater gravel will erode in saltwater and leach silicates. Lastly cutting your photoperiod back from 10 hours to 8 hours will have a HUGE impact on the algae, and will not affect coral. Coral is only photosensative in that it needs at least 8 hours of light a day. Anything more doesn't really do much for them. Hope that helps!
  21. The next person who gets on my computer and searches for 'really' in google images is going to get the suggestion 'really hot guys in speedos'
