  1. Holly,

whenever you are ready, there is a huge community here itching to help with any and every part of your tank rebuild.

i know a ton of people on here that will come move/plumb/fill/sift/filter/glue and refill your tank with the beautiful creatures you love looking at.

whenever you’re ready, there’s no rush. Just send up red sparks and we will come (sorry just watched goblet of fire).

  2. You don’t,

the QT system needs to be drained and cleaned after every use.

Use a Tupperware container and put in some sand and rock, keep it in the sump. When you use the QT tank put the container in the QT tank.  When you are done with QT, bleach the sand and rock, amquel the heck outta it and put it back in the sump for next time you need to QT.

this way you have some beneficial bacteria and it lessens the ammonia spike from new fish.

you still need to do daily water changes, and it’s imperative the container doesn’t go back into your system until you nuke it!

Very appreciative of the group buys. In Jan. I had not 1, not 2 but 3 heart attacks over 3 days, yeah I was dumb and thought it was heart burn. Turned out to be the widowmaker but despite the odds I lived and came out with no heart damage, talk about [language filter] lucky. Anyway with the medical bills its been a really lean coral buying year, IE nothing, so the fact I was able to get some great stuff so inexpensively is such a treat.  My family is very excited. Thank you so much for those who provided the corals for the group buys.

    Yikes!   Glad you’re alright!

  4. Alrighty then.

for any of you all who aren't paid members.

I have to imagine this last round of group buys had to convince you to join up (it’s Pennies compared to what we spend on our pets in this hobby).

the money 100% goes to the aquarium community and pays for awesome events like this.  The more people signed up the better the events!

join up today and check out the members only group buy tonight.

if that pectina didn’t make your eyes pop out of your head, you’re in the wrong hobby!  I can’t wait to see what Holly, Jon and Jeff have in store for the members only tonight!

  5. Sadly, nearly every grocery store chain has removed their saltwater tanks.

They require a level of expertise to care for the live food animals that is out of the range the chains are looking for and able to maintain.
to my knowledge no Safeway/Albertsons/Krogers/Whole Foods/piggly wigglys have tanks.

there was just no money to be made with them.

what’s really sad is the amount of life loss that happened due to inexperienced care takers and malicious customers putting things in the tanks 🙁

truly your best bet to find any whole cold water system is going to be a restaurant supply company.

Also, please be more specific in your posts. If you dont tell us specifically what you want, we can’t help you get it.

for anyone that needs some rock or to I crease your biodiversity… you are missing out if you don’t get Jons rock!
