  1. That's a great question, I was just doing a mental fragging session and think 12 maybe a few more. I'm going to start lopping off limbs shortly and will adjust. I didnt realize buying "kitty" had a market Good luck
  2. You got, cant deny anyone a bday gift Very nice present- Congrats!!! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  3. Oops, looks like I forgot that. Its a CNC exclusive. Colony was purchased with lineage to one of the larger Oceans Please meet the official CNC Elysium Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  5. Well here we are again.... Here is the thread for the acro group buys that will be happening at the April meeting at Cuttlefish and Coral!! Similar outline as to the rock flower group buy but for the time being 1 frag per person. Don't miss out Frags will be cut healed and at least an inch (linear-some frags may be branched) some bigger but I'm trying to make them all pretty equal. This coral in my opinion actually isn't done coloring up and should only get better. This coral has gone through a very strict QT process and all frags will be pest free. One photo was Reefbrite XHO only (smurf vision) while the other was ATI/Reefbrite combo- the coral is better in person IMHO Frags will be 60.00 for this group buy but you could always wait and purchase one later for 3-4x that cost All frags have been spoken for 1.Payment goes to brad_perry@comcast.net and I need payment by Friday April 6 or you’re going to be left out in the cold fragless Please put your forum name in the notes when you PayPal the money 2. You have until April 4th to post whether you want in, with payment needing to be made by April 6th unless we ( You and I via messages) have made special arrangements. 3. As part of the group buy CNC will donate one frag to be auctioned later with all proceeds going to Tanks for Teachers. 4. You (or someone you delegate to act on your behalf) will need to pick yours up at the meeting April 15 at Cuttlefish. If you fail to pick yours up by the end of the day April 15, you have just donated your frag to go to Tanks for Teachers and no refund will be given. Its all about communicating so if you need to make some special arrangement send a PM 5. Names will be randomly drawn to see who goes first ,second , third etc. All Filled up 1.Lewisriverfisherman - PAID 2. beer503-PAID 3. Fishboys - PAID 4. Optimusprime3605 - PAID 5. Sunswirl - PAID 6. 7. Im responsible for the address at the truck stop, I thought it might drum up some......, ah nevermind - the good ol days are long gone :( Now if I could take a picture that reflects the coral Ive in mind I'd be in better shape. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  8. Woo Hoo, Acropora group buy it is (or at least that's the one I'm heading up for Cuttlefish. I will be starting another thread with details and picture(s) of the acro that has been decided to be used. Ive been growing this piece out for some time. Some of you may know I work with/for Jeff now full time and have been secretly ( or not so secretly) growing/maintaining acros for years many of which are part of the CNC (cuttlefish and Corals) secret hoard. The specimen in mind is up there with some of nicest Ive seen. Anyway more to follow ( in a different thread that I will link to as well) Good point Daniel and there wont be any of that. I'll post a colony shot under Blues (smurf vision) for those who like to see how certain corals can really pop, and another under condtions closer to an 18K look. You wont want to miss out on this, I can absolutely promise and guarantee there has never been a nicer acro used for a group buy in my years of being here Jeff may have the colony on hand but I doubt it- I hear it safely being kept in a undisclosed secret location guarded buy some Junkie but rumor has that Junkie is lucky regarding the stick growing side of the hobby More to follow, if youre a stick head I don't think you will want to miss this one
  9. For the record Im JUST kidding , I know what you all endure- I mean that sincerely, at times this can be quite the day care facility- At one time I was able to see behind the curtain and OMG #weresthepopcorn LOL Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks for getting the ball rolling Kim. If you can call out the stragglers we can make note come election time Get the noose O.O Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  11. I think we found the judge for said contest. Possibly any container to hold the frag if you'd be adding water a.d measuring with a syringe. People could live stream the final measurement so nobody cheats... ya I said it- competition can turn people into someone you'd never thought you knew HAHA I suspect its almost time to run the idea by the board Thanks for posting Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  12. Absolutely correct, but in thinking about it, you have need to "assume" everyone uses the same amont of water So on second thought... lovin the ruler idea LOL Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  13. Don’t suppose anyone might have a dozen or so in the 250 mil range that need to be rehomed by chance. I foresee an acro grow out comp in the future and displacement is really the true way to measure for acro growth (in my humble opinion) If not there is the ol faithful ruler Amazon has the beakers around 8.00 per but asking people to buy them may not fly/be right, so I’m asking for handouts/donations you know “show the love” or is it “share”....... Anyway, it’s a shot in the dark SHARE.........
  14. I’d be more than happy to take them off your hand if the are 12” cubed or less. I used to get a lot from someone who worked at a clinic, they threw them away and were ones that were the 1” solid construction. happy to buy them or barter for acros if they are the right size
  15. Ive read his post 4-5x and have no idea how you can read his post and take away that but hey FWIW I'm not doing any group touchy/ groping/fondling etc I think I might need to go back into hiding
  16. Have you been drinking??? Touchy feely
  17. Probably better Im even more in now Who would I contact if I wanted to do an acro grow out comp. Ive got a few nice colonies and wouldn't mind the proceeds going to the club. Getting back ~25% to cover the costs for the colony (frags), glue, plugs, labor etc. I'd be happy to add in some prizes to sweeten an already sweet offer Sorry for the derailment but you know me
  18. I've seen some of Jeff's secret acro stash and if he'd part (frag) one of those pieces Id be in for that- easy to see comparable frags sell for hundreds Maybe two grow out comps- 1 for "more finicky to keep stuff" (acros) and 1 for the "other" I have to agree with Gil about the acans however for a growout piece once its fragged and healed itll be months before any new growth happens- at least that's what I read on the internet, my experience is nominal [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  19. no wavemakers they will be available soon IF the gyres do as I hope

  21. Ill be adding more or starting a new thread for other items I need to rehome like QD10s, QD40s, ATI 8X39 dimmable and non, Jaebos and the list goes on- all great condition or better For now all I have time for is this; Red Sea refractometer -30.00 Used for about 2 days. I purchased a digital and dont need this AI Hydra52 W/ AI Director AND Neptune AWM module 150.00 This was an AI SOL fixture that had the pucks upgraded amd has roughly (probably less) 20 months of use. If you dont have an apex you can use the director, if you have an apex the AWM Module allows you to control via APEX. Cells best, PM second 503-841-0212 Photos to follow Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  22. Did you find a solution that actually killed the black bugs? It’s good to hear you can see the light at the end of the tunnel finally
  23. Ive not hadn’t experience with black bugs thankfully but last I was reading on them there wasn’t anything that killed them (that didn’t kill the infected piece of course) . correct on NOTHING that kills the eggs to date that doesn’t kill the coral LOL, I’ve got a similar set of jewelers loupes, 15,20,25x magnification and a LED on each eye piece, BEST set I’ve ever found for hands free inspection. I’ve used the potassium chloride as a dip and as an in tank treatment (in a frag tank that’s coul be isolated and was bare bottom. KEY to this dip is you have to wait for the coral to slime otherwise it’s really not a sure thing. Also basting will really irritate the coral, sometimes killing it if it’s to aggressive of a basting. In tank treatment is a whole different “recipe”/ process For the dip I use(d) 1 tablespoon per gallon of tank water and soak 15 minutes ( or more, sliming be key), shake really well in dipping solution vs basting/powerhead then shake real well in tank water ( not in the tank, but water from the tank) to finish the dipping process. I honestly prefer Bayer for its mild affect it has on the acro, I’ve mistakingly left a frag in Bayer for 9 hours and it lived. Advantge the potassium has is it’s clear but not as much a “killing agent” as Bayer. Only disadvantage with Bayer is its cloudy, besides being a bad arse chemical that’s been banned in certain states. O.O ive used every dip known to kill pests I believe, Bayer is best in my book with the potassium being second since both are the most gentle dip I’ve ever used. Brandon Bayer (I use the concentrate) can be used 5-10 mls per cup soaking 15 mins, then I rinse 2-3x in tank water, each rinse is a different container of tank water so basically I set up 4 containers, 1 Bayer 3 rinse. HTH
