  1. I assume you are talking to CCR? I definitely don't want more. Any ideas for removal?
  2. So, how do I evict the invaders without killing them or busting up the rock. It is a really nice piece of rock and I would rather not have to break it.
  3. I got these pieces from Prada(Brandon) along with allot of other things. The one in the front is doing very well and the polyps are extended all the time. The piece in the rear is not doing very well though. You can see the polyps but not nearly as well as the smaller piece. Is there anything I can do for it to help it get healthier short of more light? Both have a green tint with brown polyps. Is there a name for this Acro or is it just Acro.
  4. When I purchase a "mate" for her, do I need to make sure it is a male or does it not matter?
  5. Wow! Clown fish are hermaphrodites! I googled it and I was very suprised at what I read. It is some pretty neat stuff. I knew some amphib's and reptiles could do it, but I had no clue that fish could also. I love this hobby. She is hosting Xenia on the glass at the back top left of the tank and is fanning the sand in the front left portion of the tank. So it does not matter about the location then? She is just doing what she thinks she needs to do?
  6. Is that zoo "colony" large enough to be called a colony?
  7. Sure. What do you have? They are drifters from a small colony. I want to keep the zoo colony pure untill it starts to merge with other zoos.
  8. I have been told that the green pallys will mix with and eventually over grow zoos. How can I remove the Pallys without killing them if possible? Not sure if Pally if the correct name or spelling. Here's a pic.
  9. Here are some pics after I had to evict my YT Blue Damsels. I introduced a Purple Dotty back and all three YTBD's ganged up on her. They were going back to the LFS after my upgrade, but it had to happen sooner. They had her hiding in the corner the next day, missing most of her tail. I almost had to completely tear down the tank, but things are much more peaceful now and my hand/arm doesn't get attacked anymore. The Dotty back is doing great and has her own area staked out now. I guess I could of tried to trade/sell the YTBD's instead of giving them back to the LFS, but oh well. This is before the eviction. These are after the eviction and the addition of quite a few corals I bought from Prada.
  10. Now she is the only MC in the tank. Will she still try to lay eggs without a mate? She/he is about 3" long.
  11. Can someone tell me why my Maroon Clown is fanning the sand? He/she never did it until recently.
  12. Thanks. I'll just layer all my shrooms towards the bottom, zoas in the middle and the rest towards the top.
  13. I am thinking of going with a 180g instead of a 100-125g tank. Will my Maristar fixture, 750w, be enough light for a 180g tank? It is only 2" deeper than the 125g. Most of what I am into are the softies (love the movement) but I would like to have some birds nest, acropora and my wife really wants a RBTA. Possibly a clam or two also. Thanks, Gene
  14. The AquaC Urchin an in sump skimmer for tanks up to 75gal. It is the model in the link. I was interested in this, but I want the pro model, it handles tanks up to 120gal. http://www.proteinskimmer.com/Product%20Pages/Urchin.htm
  15. I just gave my #1's a vinegar bath and the flow appears to have doubled.
  16. Wow! It was like a sand storm/tsunami! I have so much rock and coral in that little 29g tank I don't know how much water is actually in there. I had it in the top left rear corner and it was way too much flow.
  17. I have been planning on using six #4's in my 100 gal 72x18x18. It seems excessive to me but it is what has been recommended by my lfs. Thought about trying one of them in me 29g but I have been worried about too much flow.
  18. I have two #1's in there now. It just seems like there are some dead spots.
  19. I got it on Monday, so I don't know about the condition. It doe appear to have small polyps. It is a hard coral but not so hard that it is brittle. The side that you see, seems to be the top side? The other side has a little algae build up. As you can see ther are tiny little "pores" all over it, including the side you can't see. It reminds me of a frail looking hand reaching for the surface.
  20. Everything is back under control again. I adjusted the flow and now the skimate is much thicker now. Much more foam and less water. Thanks for all the help. Gene
  21. Would it create too much flow if I replaced one of my Koralia 1's with a 4?
  22. I bought some coral from Prada and he threw in some things. Can anyone identify this? Thanks for the help, Gene
