  1. Thanks for the help. Googled it and all I got was crap about modded Koralia's.
  2. I took it out, cleaned it and it is still spinning backwards.
  3. The impeller is turning backwards. Is there a fix for this unit or is the fix to get a new powerhead?
  4. Bought a used RPS 200 and it seems like it requires a second pump (feed pump). Is this true? If so, what size pump does it require?
  5. I just bought a PCI RPS 2000 skimmer and I am looking for an owners manual (if there is one). I don't know how deep the water should be or what ever. Can someone help me out with this info? I can't find anything on PCI's site. Thanks, Gene
  6. Where does the hood hinge? Is it just the top lid that lifts up?
  7. I think it is a beautiful tank. There is an awesome amount of color in there.
  8. I thought one in each corner would do it but then again I am a total newb at this point. One corner would save space though.
  9. What a deal and it only has slight damage. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/grd/1361979792.html
  10. I planned on a 1" drain on each end of the tank. The pump can easily be "dialed" down for lower flow and also will save electricity.
  11. I think the Snapper Pumps put out 2500 gph at 4'. If that isn't enough I can step up to a Dart or something like that. As for the 8 returns, I wasn't sure of how many to have. The tank is only 18" high and probably 16" after sand. Maybe only 4 returns that split into 2 inside the tank? I also showed 2 returns from the sump. Would only 1 be required?
  12. Sorry I couldn't reply sooner, I have been at work for a couple of days. I see the majority votes to drill. I was thinking of using at least one Snapper pump for the closed loop. I was also think of using one for the sump due to very little heat exchange and low power usage. Does anybody have a better idea/alternative for the pumps? I am thinking of using the closed loop so I can eliminate some or all of the power-heads. I have never used MS paint before but here is my idea for drilling the tank. PLEASE feel free to critique as I have never done this before.
  13. Rick, The HOB I am considering is a CPR with an aqualifter. Any recommendations there?
  14. I was going to use a CPR overflow for drainage to the refugium. The it was pointed out to me that it was highly possible to end up with water on the floor this way and it would be better to drill holes for the overflow.(scratch) Can you help me out here? I have never used an overflow or drilled for one. Which is the better way to go? Tank is 72x18x18 (for now). Thanks, Eugene
  15. Yep, 2 bags. I figured 100lbs would be enough and Joel agreed. I was there about 1:30. With stuff being 30% off, I will return for equipment if I can. I'm really thinking about drilling instead of an overflow box. As for live stock, I don't have room for anything else in my little 29. After making the trip to Brandon's (Prada) my tank is pretty full of coral. Maybe some cleaners but that would be it.(sad) So far the scallops seem to still be happy. They have been scooting allover the place.
  16. No problem. I was working in Albany, so it wasn't much further. I wish I could have bought more. You saved me at least $70 if I had to buy the Carib Sea online and about $150 if I had bought it at my LFS. The savings were well worth the time and the small amount of gas my wifes Hybrid Camry used. I am selling quite a bit of higher end model rr stuff. If it sells in time, I might just make the trip again. The more I think about it, I'm liking the idea of drilling the tank and using that snapper pump instead of an overflow and mag pump.
  17. Well nobody took me up on the offer. Would have picked things up for nothing. Joel has quite a bit of stuff at 30% off. Thanks for the Aragonite Joel.
  18. I won't be by a computer until this afternoon so if you need something you can call or text me at 541-870-0166. My job does not allow me to use my cell phone while I am working but I will contact you when I am done with work. I can front the money for small purchases. Please call Waves to arrange payment if you need anything "expensive".
  19. They have both attached their foot now.
  20. Last minute decision to go to Waves for some Aragonite, 50lbs for $15 tomorrow/Friday. Anyone from the Eugene area need anything? Leave a ph# and I will check before I leave for work at 5 this morning.
  21. My fish went nuts as soon as I put them in there. I put some in my FW planted tank and had the same results except with more movement. I have alot of small fish in there and it looked like a bunch of sharks in a feeding frenzy.
  22. One of them immediately found a spot it liked and attached its foot, too bad it was one of the pistol shrimps openings. They have moved a little but seem to be happy. I regularly feed the tank 3ml each of the RN Phyto live (says for scallops on bottle) and Oyster feast every three days and everything has thrived and grown very well for a year and a half now. Hopefully the scallops will also. The LFS in Albany said if the scallops are healthy, it is a good indicator that clams should do well also. Has anyone else heard of this?
  23. Currently I am feeding the tank Phyto Feast Live and Oyster Feast.
