  1. Matt, Did Issac talk to you about a trade with me? I have a VERY NICE Sunset milli! Im looking for the superman milli...Its funny, I just mentioned that to Issac the other night, and he said you had some! Talk about service! Send me a PM so we can set it up! Ryan
  2. I do the same as Andy, it works great! It doesn't take a lot either the super glue or epoxy if done right.

    20K leagues lokani !

I saw this post this morning and decided I wanted a lokini, then went to the Seahorse earlier tonight at bought a frag for a GREAT price! I also picked up 3 other really nice frags!
  4. downhill.... I only looked through the last couple pages, but do you have an up to date list of what is still available?
  5. http://www.marinesolutionsinc.com has the Sicce PSK-2500 for $125.99. If I were you I would run the Dart ORCA on your monster!
  6. nice! What are the deminsions? Neck diameter, body diameter, and how tall? Your going to use 2 sendra pumps? Why did you chose sendra? Looks good!
  7. Well, I just got my Elos Cal & Alk test kits from Waves.... I tested all 3 brands TWICE, just to confirm the results. Alk Salifert: 7.7 API: 6 Elos: 6 Calcium Salifert: 600 API: 400 Elos: 390 My Calcium reactor has been off-line since Saturday, and the results show it. Before I shut my reactor down, I was at 10-11 dKH, and 440 Cal (according to my API kits). Now my live stock has experienced an unnecessary fluctuation in parameters. Now I will be getting my Cal/Alk back up with 2-part, then start my reactor back up. I will be using the Elos kits from this point on. I will also be forwarding my findings to Salifert. They should not be in business, potentially thousands of dollars worth of livestock could be riding on the results of their tests. I would not advise to buy ANY Salifert Products. If you cannot afford Elos, go with API.
  8. I do all if my taping by hand as well. Acrylicis is already too fragle and brittle as it is (especially when dealing with a flange that might only be 1/2" think). I would be too afraid to do it with a drill....
  9. I'm in, if been wanting to try Rods for a while!

    DIY Calcium Reactor

I didnt want to place the PH probe in the reactor lid since the effluent isnt exiting out of the lid, it exiting out of the bottom end of the reactor which is under water... Its basically a fancy cup. I have seen a lot of people drip their effluent into a cup that their PH probe was sitting in...
  11. To make a long story short, I set my calcium reactor up about 2 weeks ago. It was maintaining my Cal/Alk pretty solid at 440 Cal, 10-11 dKH according to my API test kits. I bought Salifert Cal & Alk test kits on Saturday. My water tested out at 610 Cal & 14 dKH! I immediately shut my reactor down to let my parameters settle down. I have been testing my water daily with the Salifert test kits. My Alk has been coming down, but my calcium is hovering arround the 600 range. Today I tested my water with both brands. I got the following results: Calcium Salifert: 600 API: 440 Alkalinity Salifert: 9.1 API: 7 This is REALLY bothering me. How do I know what brand to trust? I might go buy a set of Elos tomorrow, just for piece of mind. Has anyone else experienced these kind of variances between brands? I can understand a small variance between brands, but this is drastic! Fortunately, I have seen no negative effects in my corals. Quote from page 2:
  12. How does billitlater work? What is the point of it? If I wanted to buy something now and pay for it later I would pit in on my credit card (unless of course I got 30% off)...

    DIY Calcium Reactor

The body of the reactor is 4.5"x4.5"x14.5" the pump and plumbing ad another 3" to the bottom of the reactor. The reactor does not sit on the bottom of my sump, it is hung in the corner by the 2 black "handles" on the sides. The pump hangs about 2" off the floor of my sump. Has anyone else had issues with the Salifert Calcium test kit!
  14. Has anyone run them on Icecap E-ballasts? Madmike & Michael, Are you using T5 or VHO actinic supplementation?

    DIY Calcium Reactor

A couple months ago I decided I wanted a calcium reactor for my 36g (mostly SPS) tank. I couldn't find one that would fit under my stand (that I liked), so I decided to make my own. Heres the outcome: SketchUp Design Construction: (Those are water drops from the leak test, not excess cement) Pump & Plumbing I added two schedule 80 unions between the plumbing and bulk heads in the final design. Bubble Counter Effluent Chamber/PH probe holder 5lb Tank, Regulator, & Controller Setup in sump I am using the Gen-X CRM. The reactor holds roughly 5lbs of media. I have had the reactor setup and running for 2 weeks now. I thought all was working great, cause it was holding my Alk/Cal at 10-11 dKH & 440ppm according to my API tests. I just got my Salifert test kits on Sat and it tested out to 14 dKH and 610ppm CAL!?!?!?! I immediately shut the reactor down to let my Alk/Cal drop. I am testing my Alk/Cal daily. Im now at 11 dKH & 580ppm CAL... I will resume the reactor when things settle back down. Luckily I have not seen any negative effects on my corals! I am also testing a few valves on the effluent line. So far I have used a JG 1/4" ball valve, and SMS PVC needle valve. I dont like either of them, I get the effluent at the drip rate I want, and it cuts in half by the next day. I decided to try a pinch valve on the effluent line so I ordered a Flow Control Pinch Valve today: What do you guys think?
  16. Oops...didn't realize this was a year old, I just thought the date was messed up or set on a different time zone...lol
  17. I assume the LiterMeter III? How big is your water change reservoir? Were does the waist water go? what do you use to pump the water out of the tank?
  18. what shop in town wants to host a group buy?
  19. [language filter] apartments :( I would be on my way to your house now if I had the room for your tank :( I am almost willing to move for you tank
  20. I saw it at Waves last weekend. I think Im going to add it into my feeding schedule. I like to feed something different every day
  21. I just got my DIY calcium reactor setup and running. Its holding steady at 100ml a minute, 40 bubbles per minute, and 6.9ph. I was going to wait to set it up until I got a Salifert Alk test, but could not find one locally. Seahorse will have them in mid-week. For now, Im going to attempt to test my Effluent ALK with my API test. My target tank ALK is 9 dKH, so I am going to start at 18 dKH out of my reactor. My API test only goes up to 12 dKH, so I plan on deluting the effluent with a 50/50 mix of either RO/DI water or tank water. Which should I use? Sneaker pic:
  22. I was in the Tap Plastics on Sandy today to get some acrylic cut to finish up my DIY calcium reactor when something caught my eye! Its a tank made out of 1/4" acrylic measuring 34.5x27.5x7.25. If I calculated it right, it is right at 30 gallons. It would be perfect for a shallow frag tank tied into your current system if you have room. I would have bought it today if I did! I asked him if it would be strong enough only made out of 1/4 to support water, and he said it would without a doubt. The seams are flawless (like Envision flawless). I would add a small 2" or so brace all the way around it, but other then that, its perfect! Its only $50 so if you are in the market, here ya go!
