  1. I have a slighty different opinion and experience with them. I had them show up the same way that you did on a colony that I bought. I didn't notice it until probably a week or so after I added the colony. I could visibly see at least 50 of the things on the colony and I threw it away to be safe rather than try to remove them. In the last 6 months I have only seen another one pop up twice in my tank and both times there were just a couple and I was able to remove them by sucking them into a turkey baster and throwing them away without throwing the colony away. I have spoken with a few other knowledgeable forum members and they have had the same experience and success in controlling their populations and keeping their montis safe by manual removal. My suggestion if you only see a few is to get them out with a turkey baster and watch your montis very closely in the next week, especially at night when the lights are out. If you see more, remove them. Adding a six line wrasse would likely help as well. I think you have an excellent chance of keeping your corals safe without having to remove everything from your tank.
  2. Mike: My experience in Rose City is exactly the opposite as yours. Rose City has been bringing in a very nice selection of corals and the prices are always fair. Nick and his staff has been good to me and I have seen and observed both of the german shepards in the shop many times and they have been nothing but well behaved and friendly from what I have seen. In my opinion it is a great shop.
  3. pack is pending. I will post if the status changes. Thank you.
  4. siskiou: I apologize but I don't have any pics. There is 1 person who contacted me before you did so I will let you know if it sells or not. My camera literally can't capture any color whatsoever. It is a piece of crap. I get frustrated when people don't post pictures, but I really don't have any means with my camera to represent a coral accurately. I am planning on buying a decent camera soon and hopefully will be able to post pics next time. Thanks. Jake
  5. I have a bunch of frags sitting in my tank that I want to get rid of. None of these are extremely expensive collectors pieces but they are nice corals. This would make a nice starter pack for somebody just getting into SPS. My camera sucks so I can't include photos but that is why the pack is so cheap. If your interested just give me a call and you can come by to see the tank for yourself. I live in Happy Valley. I am asking $60 for all 8 of the frags listed below. 503-330-4772. 1. Pink Chalice, about 3/4", it is a flourescent light pink color 2. Todds Tort (green tort with blue tips) about 3/4" 3. Green Lokani, over 1" with many branches 4. ORA Purple Pillow, about an 1" with several branches 5. Staghorn, about 3", I bought this out of Upscales show tank, it should be greenish with bright blue tips but it has lost some color sitting in the bottom of my tank. 6. Bright blue milli, about 1" and fully encrusted on a disc, this is a really nice milli 7. Unknown blue acro, this is about 1" and the thickness of your thumb. The mother colony grows very thick branches as well. It is blue with some hints of flourescent green at the base. I think this acro is extremely nice and I paid a lot for the mother colony. 8. Unknown brown acro with blue tips. This one is about 3" long. I think it is a milli but I don't know for sure.
  6. its worth the short drive to Newberg. Mark has some awesome stuff for excellent prices. Thanks for the great deal.
  7. The frags have all been sold. Thanks. Jake
  8. I have a big purple monster frag for sale. Once again I apologize for the lack of photos but my camera sucks. It is over 1" with 3 branches and fully encrusted on its plug. I am asking $40. I paid $100 for it 5 months ago and it has grown since then, but it does not have the nice color that it should. I do not have a high light place in my tank for it. It has been sitting near the bottom of my tank and has "paled" out quite a bit. It is not brown, but it is pale purple when it used to be and should be bright purple in the right conditions. If you have a nice high light area in your tank for it, it should color right up. Call me if you want it. Jake 503-330-4772.
  9. 2 are sold. 1 still left. This last 1 is fairly small (about 1/2") so I will sell it for $15. Still a good deal for Blue tort.
  10. I have 3 small frags of Oregon Blue tort for sale. I fragged them from the mother colony about 3 weeks ago and they are mounted on discs and healthy. I am asking $20 for each. They are small (small one about 1/2" and the other two about 3/4") but that is why they are so cheap. My camera sucks so I am not even posting photos. I live in Happy Valley and interested parties can come see the frags and the mother colony for themselves. Give me a call. Jake 503-330-4772
  11. I have 2 Koralia nano powerheads. They are both brand new. I bought them thinking they would work for my tank, but they are too small. They each do 270 gallons per hour of flow. Check the koralia website for details. asking $20 each. That is much less than I paid, but I need them gone so I can order the correct size. 503-330-4772.
  12. I am looking to trade a frag of my oregon blue tort for a frag of superman monti. I would also be willing to trade large pieces for colonies as well. Send me a private message if interested and we can work something out. Thanks.
  13. I have a few frags for sale. I can't take good photos so none are posted, but any interested parties are welcome to come over and see the tank in person. I live in Clackamas. Frags are listed below. 1. LE Montipora Setosa: 1/2" frag $50 2. Purple Death Palys: 2 frags available. 5 polpys: $50, 2 polpys: $20 3. Bright orange zoas: 100 polyps available, $1 per polyp 4. Large Aussie Acan Colonies: 2 colonies. 1 red and green w/ probably 30 polyps (about 4 inches) $100. 1 Purple and Green colony with probably 70 polyps (approximately 6 inches X 6 inches) $200. I realize most people don't want big colonies given the high price so I would be happy to make frags at reasonable prices as well. Call before Wednesday if interested. I am taking these into the LFS later in the week if nobody wants them. I have a number of small colonies growing in my tank, so if you come over and see something you want I will make frags. My tank is mostly SPS. Call me if interested. 503-330-4772.
  14. This is a nice Aussie Acan colony. My photo sucks but I can't do any better. It is a bright red and green pattern. It is a fairly large colony. It has at least 20 full polyps and 10 half or baby polyps. On the mature side of the coral the grown polpys are large (3/4" each when open). I am asking $200 for it. I have seen lots of frags of this coral around for $50-100 for a small piece. I would consider fragging it but I would prefer to sell the whole colony. I will leave it for sale for the next couple of days and put it on RC if nobody wants it local. Also, I have a really nice "incredible hulk" acan colony that is a beautiful purple and green color. I am willing to frag small or large pieces of that as well as some really nice "alpha omega" zoas if anybody is interested. You are welcome to come over to my house to see these corals in person before purchase. I live in Portland. Call 503-330-4772.
  15. I have a good sized colony of "alpha and omega" zoas that I would like to trade for something else or sell. the colony is at least 80 polyps and is about 3.5" X 1.5" grown over a dead clam shell. I am terrible at photography and have tried to get a better photo but I can't. They look 100 times better in my tank than the photo below. For a better photo check the zoa gallery at www.zoaid.com. They are the same colony as the "alpha omega" photo at that website. I am in Portland and you are welcome to come over to my house to see what they really look like. I am looking to trade for other colorful zoas or SPS. I am most interested in colorful and LE SPS. I paid $60 for my original frag of these which was about 10 polyps so the whole colony has some value. I would also be willing to frag the colony if you would prefer. The photo is at the link below. Respond to this thread or call me on my cell at 503-330-4772. Thanks. Jake http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=250629&papass=&sort=1&thecat=500
