  1. The pokerstar pic from me is under 250w DE phoenix 14k powered by a galaxy electronic ballast, no actinics.
  2. are you haveing thoughts of getting one of these snowpunk? what size? 3' long, 4' long, or 5' long?
  3. I still talk to him all the time. We went out to the Great Salt Lake to collect sand and rock a couple months back.
  4. So you got rid of the seaswirls? Too hard on them? I also have a koralia mag 8 in the tank. I want the flow variety of the seaswirls, but know they aren't really a back and forth wave. They are just random flow.
  5. Thanks garrett. The nozzle might be 2" under the water, but probably a little less. The water level sits about 1" down from the rim of the tank. Could I add another nuckle to the locline?
  6. I'm subscribed. This is the same tank I am setting up and I love it. I like the way your stand looks, even unfinished. I really like the clean lines of it. Here is my build thread if you haven't seen it yet. http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11877
  7. Well I have the pump feeding several things, the tank, which is about 12 feet of head, the frag tank, at 4' of head, and the skimmer, an AquaC EV1000. I can send more water other places if needed, and can ball valve to make sure I have the right amount of flow through the penductor. I want more flow, but dont want to damage the seaswirl. So what do you think? With the setup I am going with?
  8. Thanks everyone. I know these work best on pressure rated pump. Mine is a reeflo barracuda. One mean pump... So, if I angle it down a bit, but still strait side to side will that work?
  9. I have 2x 3/4" seaswirls and was thinking of using penductors on them, but heard from someone local that they are not recommended on seaswirls. I dont see why this would be the case. Anyone have experience with this?
  10. Nobody has heard from him yet? This is really freaking me out...
  11. did you see it at saltwater fantaseas? i know they had one in the shop when i moved away. it was very nice, stand, tank, and canopy. they had a great price on it too.
  12. The tank dimensions are 48" long, 36" front to back, and 27" tall. They also make a 36x36x27, which is 150g, and a 60x36x27, which is 300g.
  13. jason: the tank is 3 feet front to back. Mike: no problem you are crazy anyways.
  14. They will grow. Thanks for all you help Garrett, I am glad I listened to you and went with the 400w instead of 250w. I have a feeling it will make a big difference in coral growth, especially at the bottom of the tank.
  15. 72 bowfront when I first started keeping a reef tank: 72 bowfront in Feb. Last pic before moving in May 200g as of now:
  16. Mike: I actually only have one purple tang, he just moves a lot and gets in all the pics. The tangs I have are: Purple Tang Blue Eye Kole Tang Chevron Tang Blond Naso Tang Red Sea Sailfin Tang Regal Tang Yellow Tang (in QT) Miles: I love the radiums a lot. I still have to burn in the bulbs and see what color they are really going to be, and the corals still have to adjust, so their colors still aren't the greatest yet...yet. Glad you have them too, they are sick bulbs.
  17. Thanks snowpunk. It took a long time on the aquascaping, but I finally decided I like it. Return is Reeflo Barracuda (4500GPH), it is feeding this tank, the frag tank, and the skimmer, I would say it is doing 1500GPH and flowing through my seaswirls on the return. Then I have one Koralia Magnum 8 that is behind the rock on the left side it works great, almost too much flow, but overall I like the flow, it doesn't blow around the sand, but the coral seems to have enough flow. You can see the flow if you watch my video, especially after I feed. Here is the video everyone. Enjoy the music!
  18. Ok, no more waiting. Here are the updates and pics: Got a few more new fish, mandarin dragonet, 6 line wrasse, and lawnmower blenny. Got the new 400w Radium 20k bulbs today. They look very nice compared to the 10k I had in there before. All coral frags are glued in and ready to grow out, and all fish are in tank.
  19. Well the freshwater dip was too much for him. The temp and pH were right, but he died shortly after the dip. I know I will keep my eye out for black ich whenever I buy yellow tangs especially.
  20. I am sorry Franklin. I doubt that you caused the death by adding a couple more t5 bulbs. I know your family was very attached to the fish and I am glad you tried to hard to save the fish.
  21. I just noticed that my yellow tang is showing several black spots on its body and I think that it is black ich. What are the methods of killing this? Will it kill the fish? Will the fish fight it off? Will it infect all the other fish? Any help would be great. Thanks. I really dont want to catch the fish if it is possible to avoid it. It causes a lot of stress and would be pretty difficult to catch. But if it needs to be caught I will do that. I really dont want my 6 other tangs to get infected and have any of them die.
