  1. thanks again. people in this area are so friendly. i think that it will be nice to post a thread and not get bashed for not knowing how something works. i think that we should be in this together, and to learn, and many times on reef central people bash others. its just nice to be in the presence of so many friendly people.
  2. sorry for the bad pics, i took over 100 and those were the best ones i could get on my outdated digital camera. the fish is acting completely normal. does not scratch, eats normal, picks at algae, and interacts with the other fish. the dark spots are much darker and more of them in real life. it looks like dirt with no depth. it just layes flat on the fish. if you have ever seen discus this looks like the dirty spots that is seen on many discus. i put a post of this on reefcentral, and many people said that they had the same problem, or knew someone who did, and it was a reaction to light. i asked them if it ever goes away and haven't heard back yet. of course if anyone has more experience or input, please comment and let me know what you know.
  3. thanks for all of the warm welcomes. i really think that i will like it here, and think that this will be an excellent source for new and interesting corals, hopefully. i also have some new pics from today. i just got some new corals and they are really neato...of course i will have to wait until tomorrow to post them so that the lights are on and the camera will focus.
  4. there was 3 in there when i got mine. it has been about 3 months. they havent, or maybe now they have sold the last 2. i got the best looking one that was in there and it was on the smaller side but very active and healthy, that is more important than size.
  5. yeah thats a tomini tang. it is one of my favorites. i got it from aquaserene, and i just love the fish. i usually dont like to buy fish there because i get so much disease from them, but after some QT it was ready to go. My stocking list: Tomini Tang Regal Tang Flame Angel Royal Gramma Rainford's Goby Green Chromis 4 Stripe Damsel Gold/Maroon Clown
  6. Thank you, are you the "Jay" that works at liquid sunshine? Probably not, but I thought I would ask.
  7. I recently moved this flame angel into my display tank after 4-5 weeks of QT and about a week after being under the MH lights he started to show dark spots on top of the body in the head region and in front of, and on the sides of the dorsal fin. It is difficult to see in the pics but it looks like dirty spots. Someone suggested black ich, but i just dont think that is it, there isnt actually spots, just what looks like smudges of dirt.
  8. Hi everyone! I am excited to have found this site and to get to know some of the local reefers in the Eugene area. I really enjoy the hobby, and like many others, I am an addict. That is the first step to recovery, but I dont want to recover!!! I am, most likely, one of the younger and biggest members. I am 6'9" tall and about 300lbs. I was raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, and moved here with my fiance for college. I am 22 years old, and have been into fish since 5th grade, into salt tanks for 3 years, and into reef tanks for 1 year. This is my mixed reef tank.
