  1. wow I love it the tower really makes it so awsome......I know what you mean about the sleeves...sometimes I think I should just put on snokle gear.
  2. wow glad its better now I cant wait to get one.
  3. wow thats awsome...yeah need pics asap
  4. I did it in a rubbermaid...thankfully my stuff was shorter and as soon as the water is tall enough I put in a jr. heater( less than 7 bucks) and I keep a digital therm. in there and try to match it to my tank as close as possible.
  5. how much for the phos. medias if you decide to part out? thanks
  6. nice pics and really nice tank...I love that arch, I was trying to do something kind of like that in my aqua scape but cant find pieces like that anywhere, where did you pick it up? love the bubble coral
  7. hmmm I'VE HEARD STUFF LIKE THIS BEFORE...UGG caps sorry...anyways if you just think about it I dont think its logical.....hmm let me take something more sensitive and expensive and just dump it into my tank....what would you do? i personally think the two hours is worth it. also alot of them dont show affects quickly so of course for the next couple days everything looks great. by the time a anemone starts showing signs its too late not all the time but often. shipping is stressful on a animal yeah if its been horrible and you want it out of that water fast...I could see speeden it up because of the situation but most of the time no you should go with the regular acclimation. it deserves it. I recently brought home my rose which had been very stressed....though not sure how oxx155 acclimated it( he probably recieved it with nery little water and it had been in shipping for over 48 hours) when I got it from him I did a 2 hour acclimation and by the time I accutally put it in the tank it had been 2.5....well it looks great even being harassed by my maroons. it has attached well open up and color is great. so I think its worth the two hours
  8. more pics! please this is a great idea

    Hair Algae

oh wow sorry for your loss...when I was having bad algae i used those little teeth cleaning things to go around each head....tedious yes but affective.
  10. wow if I had that in my house....I'd never leave.
  11. just eye balling my water params everythings still looking good.....still at 1.026 so do you guys think the high levels would have affected the xenia?
  12. yeah I would be if you wernt far away...maybe one day but with gas prices I'm trying to stay put.....with the comments about a reactor maybe I'LL just get a pinpoint......oh well this hobby sure is expensive. my husband is very tolerant of my splurges and my" oh honey I need it"
  13. yeah I will be, this has been going on for awhile without my understanding what the problem was.I've lost several snails....not to many hermits but a few. I lost my xenia though very sad I'm Thinking that this is probably why(scratch) ...I had four little ones two from dsoz and two from breefcase and lost them all in a 48 period did water tests like crazy and besides some alage nothing apeared to be wrong.....then my hydrometer started sticking and tests with 20 min. spans were completly different. someone told me to make sure of no bubbles in it but by that point I had a gut feeling of what was happening and sure enough I go on line and everyone is telling me how bad these hydrometers are.......first I had heard of it(flame) my zoas are hanging in there and starting to look happy again except for most of the fabulous one that breefcase gave me(it had green bay packers on it which are gone and these neat orange ones(sad)(sad)(sad)(sad)), though it will probably be a day or so till they open back up. and my sun coral and little accro is doing fine it is now (my specific gravity(naughty)) at a nice 1.026 and I did just a little top off this morning....I'm bummed I really loved the xenia but atleast my babies were okay.....I kinda started freaking out and pulled my spawning maroon and put them in the quaritine tank , which they seemed to like(laugh). but there are now back in my display tank and I think everythings gonna be fine.
  14. nope you got me correctDOH! making both with salt....not doing that anymore thankfully I was told that this was the best way now i did normally make it lower but still my levels as you can see were (scary). I'm blessed it didnt get worse. I was told if you just put ri/do water in even small amounts it will possibly do damage and kill them...........I am learning to take everything with a grain of salt(scratch) all my fishies are out and eating and I sitting at 1.028 by to different hydrometers...will get a refrac soon......deal with them at work....maybe they wont notice if I borrow one tonight(nutty) lol just kidding thanks everyone for your fast help
  15. yeah I'll be getting one soon...or a pinpoint....just tested it again be alittle over a hour since water change now at 1.029 so not touching it till morning.....I think it'll be fine do you think by morning it will have droped all that it would from that water change?
  16. thanks I'm trying to be patient I think I'm gona do a 10- 15 as well, not only was my hydrometer way! off but I was making my top off water a week in advance and not taking into account that water evaps but salt does not.....LESSON LEARNED.
  17. okay so due to a horrible red sea(wife)hydrometer my salt levels are off the chart...fish are doing great snails not so hot I have already done a 15 percent water change with ri/do water no salt!...should I do another?(scary) I am now using 2 six inch deep hydrometer (rock2)I just want to drop my levels safly but quicklyany advice? please help and please check your red sea hydrometers(flame) thanks for any help
  18. wow I'm in awe of the wisdom...thanks
  19. what? a packet of sugar? I was following along great till you threw that at me...lol your going to need to explain to me how a packet of sugar is replacing a reactor...what size tank you have? thank so much for your inputs guys.
  20. http://cgi.ebay.com/Denitrator-Calcium-Reactor-and-Phosphate_W0QQitemZ200227409264QQihZ010QQcategoryZ46310QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem do any of you know about these or have any experience with them, so much cheaper than a reactor if it works(scratch)......would love some .02 on this.thanks
  21. I use the little brush flossers that are trully too big to fit between your teeth ....there the perfect size and all therelittle grabers work like a charm
  22. yeah I worka couple blocks from a.s and I kinda feel akward the amount of time I spend some weeks"stocking" their fish...lets just say that I sware a couple of the fish are recognizing me.lol. latly I've just been working up my wish list for oxx155.....sigh
  23. crap yes i wish I knew what I know now when I moved my tank....take twice as many bags as you thought you would need, buy a billion hand warmers(on clearance in camping section at wally world) the kind you shake to activate...wrap them in newspaper put under and ontop in those cheap styrofoam coolers, also at wally world and you can use lunch pails too but make sure you run them under warm water to warm the plastic up.also buy rubber maids or what not to store as much water as possible.use duct tape and plastic wrap to keep it from leaking.if you have extra funds go get a electric plug in(like the kind you would use for a laptop)to plug in to the lighter spot, and use that for a heater to put with your precious fish and corals and take a breath of relief when you wont have to check the temp every 5 seconds and freak out about your pride and joy. also buy garlic immunity booster to build them up before ... also just like dnoz said be prepared for a cycle and algae dont feed them the first day so you can see your levels perfectly.feed them extra the day before and if you can try to clean up the tank as much as possible the week before you move. I fed mine in the transport water that i Wasnt keeping just cuz I felt guilty and bad for them.....I moved them 6 hours and had a horrible experence when I got back with setting up and some serious unfor seen plumbing problems....make a plan down to the so small they shouldnt matter details...those little ones bite you in the butt everytime. pm me if you got q's I recently moved my 90 gallon. sorry this is such a messy comment I'm on my work break.
