  3. okay so I have a beautiful either bta or long tenticul anemon (scratch).....he is showing no signs of being unhappy except two days ago I found what looked to be like a fallen off tenticle(scary). when I got him, he was being fed once a week or so(sooner not longer) now I'm trying to feed him once a day spot feeding an then the regular feeding for the tank of invert foods.....he doesnt seem to care for silversides I'M trying arcti pods there kinda pricey but if it works thats fine...is there anything better?...he doesnt close all the way when I SPOT FEED HIM(scratch)( Sorry bout caps) is this okay...read mixed reviews online so looking for some personal experience here. hey miles didnt you have something liquid you bought for your mandrin ...I thinl you said it was for inverts as well????? not sure...what was the name if it applies to this...thanks thanks- ashley
  4. his color does seem to be better and alittle different since I first got him.....maybe cause I'm feeding him more? when I just have the atintic going he's neon green ...like day glow...I love it
  5. thanks 1 and two is what I'm working on....trying not to kill anything .......I'm haveing a hard time finding stuff that my anemon like...tried silversides, or brine, and now i'm trying arcti pods...slightly expensive.....is he suposed to close up when he eats? he gets alittle smaller but doesnt close. he is showing no signs of being unhappy but I know they are difficult to keep and he's just lovley and I would hate for him to waste away...any insight?
  6. also if there are future issues I switched part of my plumbing to flex tube...its great you just cut where you want to change something...you can see clogs and it always seals into the connector pieces like a dream. and its flexible!!! just my 0.02

  10. well I'm going to be redoing my rock this week my tank had the back painted so I didnt need to tint it after all, I hope to use the rock lifts this time....I was in way to much of a hurry before and forgot but I can see there will be a problem with detrius if I dont
  11. cant wait for pics! you may want a snail or two they work wonders.....dont get a turbo though their huge.
  12. http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7047 same tank just empty and alittle dirty sorry camera not working and I'm not home right now when I get home I can take diemensions for ya.
  13. k thanks dsoz that very generous of you. oh the frag is green with different ribbons of colre in the middle...some a bluish and some orange ....it got nocked over so when it fully opens I'll try to take a pick...I think there just regular zoas but I like them and I dont have much in my tank so ya know how it goes.......I need more patience mark my tank was a established tank running for over a year and a half that I purchased from another member, i've had it going for a little while, I was able to salvage about 90 percent of the original water so I had a very small cycle. I think most of the algae problem came from lack of a bigger cuc and that the tank was in line with a window with no curtain...you could see areas where the sun had hit that were just cover in algae film.....but in not time flat my new cuc are making huge progress.....thanks hope that helps. when I had my 29 gallon I had one bigger cycle and then about a week later another small one....keep us updated on how your doing
  14. no just sent briefcase a pm my algae is getting better and I like his idea as a nutrient export too. so hopefully will hear from him soon ...cant wait
  15. wow thats so sad....I dont think a picture of that would be a good idea.
  16. "complete 48" Hamilton deluxe hood with 2x250 SE metal halides and 2x40 NO flouresents. This Light hood and Ballast are older but work fine. The ballast seems to be sensitive to GFI outlets and will pop the GFI. But it works fine with normal outlets. I have used this light set up for a year and a half on a normal outlet and worked just fine. But its up to you. The lights in this hood are only a few months old and have tons of life left. They have 10k USHIO SE Metal Halide." from the person I bought this setup from. asking 140 0bo great deal I just have one already. the wires have to be reconnected...I can do this so anyone can. ashley 6543465
  17. k 90 gallon for sale not drilled but drillable. 100 bucks obo have a great day.
  18. ha addiction? I dont know if that even does it justice(scary) I think I scare my husband when we pass a fish store. I tell him its only the begining. he's starting to get it though...I hope(threaten)
  19. okay update!!! got some more cuc today. I added 7 narsi. snails , 10 turbos( cheaper in bulk(clap))and two emerald crabs...little tiny cute ones. and a little zoa frag(couldnt help myself and its already opening!) as well as some fresh cheato......wow are they all working hard. dsoz- when I came back my algae glass was covered in trails and "snail bites" it made me graetful for the mag floats......how often do you scrape the coraline off the back? is there any plus side or benificial use to leaving it there? thanks everyone my tank is already lookin better...I have been warned though in the near future I may be paying people to nake the turbos.....as for the moment I'm just happy their always hungry. have a great night:D
  20. wow really nice. your clam looks wonderful(drooler) how old is you set up? nice work
  21. sweet thanks absolutly never would have though of using that.
  22. yeah I'm a fresh water convert.....didnt take long at all did you just do planted tanks or did they have fish too? I'm setting up a 29 gallon for my friend in a couple weeks , a planted community tank( my plan is to have her in saltwater within the year(plotting)) so if you have any pennywart , java fern or swords or any thing you'd be willing to give a starter of I'd sure apprciate it. I dont have anything to frag right now but in a month when you'll maybe be putting things in your tank I should have something I could frag for you ...we'd just have to figure out the distance maybe meet up at a meeting. well welcome and ask your questions away I'm new too and everyone is really helpful.
