  1. Very Cool get together! Feels like family. A very dysfunctional one (the only kind I know and respect) but family all the same. Thank You Douglas! You are the man (and your boy is growing so much)!
  2. Congrats Member Kasasah! It is yours! Just ask anyone at the shop to refer to this thread. Franklin
  3. If you join PNWMAS for 1 year's NEWmembership dues I will assign you a gift certificate for $25.00 that I won at the last meeting to the Premium Aquarium in Salem. This is a smoking deal to arguably the best shop on Oregon! $24 membership minus $25 gift certificate. You just put a buck in your pocket Bud, have discovered a great shop, made numerous friends on the forum and racked up 1,000 Good Karma Points (500 more and you have paid the debt of telling that girl in high school that you really, really loved her for her mind). The catch: I only have one gift certificate. So first new member that promises to join for a year and posts here wins (no PM's). I trust that if you say you will join that you will. (liars go to hell, anyway, or join Wall Street) So as not to make Garrett and me clownfish please don't go in and just use up the $25.00 only. Buy some other stuff too! They have good deals! This is just my effort of passing on the stoke....

    Back To Reef

Thanks!! And I agree. I just grew up (somewhat) next to the ocean and it feels like coming home with a reef. I began steelhead fishing because I followed them from the ocean to the river. Please don't tell the DEA, Alex! Hey Shaun! Good to hear from ya!! The Clayster told me you've been around. Going to the meeting, buddy? Great to hear from old friends!

    Back To Reef

I am right around 3 bps out of standard .177 ID line in 60 gal. I have my controller set to shut off CO2 after lights are out. I know what you mean about Roselines, Micah! They are notoriously sensitive to oxygen depletion. I am good for the last two months. My CO2 indicator is always green. So far so good...
  6. What is it with Eugene Tek T5 fixtures? That is three of us in Eugene. I touched my 8 light Tek and grounded on my tank last week and had a shock that I could feel in my ribs. I shut off my GFCI with my body.(scary) I thought I almost smoked my hair. (laugh) Did yours shock you guys? Is this a sign of a bad ballast? I am setting up CF and MH to keep my stuff alive while I troubleshoot.
  7. Been busy setting up a planted tank and while it has been fun I really love reef tanks and need to get back to my somewhat neglected reef tank. Reef tanks are just more dynamic IMHO. The nano powerhead is for the Torpedo Barbs. They are from the high, fast rivers of India and love to play in fast currants. Time to prune. Growing very fast with fertilizer and CO2! All plumbing in garage: Tiger Lilly. A number of leaves are sitting on the surface now: My DIY carbon reactor: CO2 has worked great for me:
  8. Garrett has always treated me curiously, but then again so have most rational people and animals....... Congrats Buddy! You deserve it!
  9. I'll bring a rack (24) of Coke (not that kind Roger) 1/2 diet & reg.
  10. I'd be interested Roger! But I won't PM you because it might encourage you to violate that "pesky" restraining order against you......
  11. This is going to be great! I will be there with bells on and a "not to revealing" tutu!
  12. Hey Mark! Good to hear from you again. Ricordea are all a very hardy coral. The clean up crew should help ya!
  13. +1 for a Royal Gramma. Very hardy and beautiful fish. Harvest, I mean Amanda, has asked me if it is OK to give you a few corals when you are ready and I agreed. Have fun!
  14. Hi Donna! This is Harvest but I am going by Amanda. Our tank is getting ready for fish in a few days. I like your tank. Goodbye.
  15. Hey Donna! Nice start! My daughter will be 8 in a couple of weeks. She has a freshwater tank that we are starting. This is your thread!
  16. Man, those anodized rockers and stud girdles sure look pretty! You need glass valve covers!! "No Replacement For ..............."
  17. Bump for a good deal! Already have an Edge, otherwise be all over this. The tanks usually run about $120 by themselves on discount. The LED's, timer, Koralia powerhead, Marineland heater, and Mag cleaner make this a smoking deal! Do you have a link to your Ebay LED's?
  18. If you have high CA and low Mg you are likely precipitating on heater and pump. You really need at least two or three kits (even from different companies) to verify your tests. When you are adding drops do not do them continuously. Drip a drop, let up on the pressure to allow for air to get in and drip again all while having the bottle completely upright. Good luck and post your results! Here is a good read: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-06/rhf/index.php
  19. Just tested some Kent. It is NOS from an order about 9 months ago: Salinity= 1.026 on recently calibrated refractometer. CA = 475 Elos Test ALK = 9.5 LaMotte Test MG = 1500 Salifert Test Because I have a good batch it does not mean that ALL batches are good. Conversely, as Mandinga pointed out, it should be checked more rigorously.
  20. Did The Clayster weep uncontrollably, like the little schoolgirl he is?
