  1. I wonder how many people were thinking;" a frag to transplant to the wild and one for my tank, a frag to transplant to the wild and one for my tank", ect. There are a couple of pieces I would like!
  2. See what happens when you are a great customer with Garrett, John!
  3. +1 on the "dental dam". Might not be too bad if you can get a trim router back in there. I'd hate to try and get a 3 1/2hp Milwaukee to fit. Maybe a Dremel or Roto-Zip since you don't have that much material to cut?
  4. I believe that Lowman and Grassi are right. Socks can be nitrate factories which may be mitigated by aeration and regular changing. A lot of the material is used as filters on big rigs, hence the Purolator labels. I have bought rimmed filters for as little as $2.50 apiece from industrial suppliers. Premium Tank (Garrett) has some really cool filters that are bonded on the exterior surface. I think they are distributed by BRS? Make sure you are getting felted and not just mesh material. I have gone back to using socks but need to be reminded by my wife to change them when they smell.(whistle)
  5. Miles (Impur) loves his SWC 160 cone skimmer so much he just bought another. Saw a thread where he got a deal for $250 new, I believe.
  6. Well not exactly. Maybe this will help you recognize Michael:
  7. Sent from my VM670 using Tapatalk
  8. Yea Mick, I hear ya. The ER on the left is the same size body but is 30" tall, therefore fighting head pressure and the stock Sedra 9000 doesn't work with head well.
  9. Did an elementary mistake. These skimmers are very sensitive to placement. Lowered it a bit and it is a pumping fool with stock pump. Now the question is if I should keep the BB3000. Might send it back in exchange for BB5000 and use it to power my tall ER.
  10. Nothing on Fleabay. A lot of other stores are showing DC'd. Here is one for $35 w/ shipping. I have not dealt with this store front before. Proceed at own risk. They do take PP. Good tip, Alex!!!!!!!!!!! http://djtronix.com/chsf24chchti.html
  11. My titanium went South after 1 month. Was not Visa-therm, however.
  12. Were you using glass or Stealth? My glass Visa-Therms have lasted. Some for over 3 years.
  13. Word is that he single handedly solved the problem of the flooding of Florence, made Fiat a reliable car (help GM, please), an is Berlusconi's secret mistress.
  14. Legend says that he is a clam. And that he went insane when worms bored into his mantle. Now he spits venom out and curses in Sicilian at anyone that he sees drinking Clamato juice.
  15. Electricity can do really creepy things to you.
  16. Should do both. According to specs it overpowers the skimmer but there are people running this on RC with great results (and we all know that RC people are SO much smarter than the average reefer, 'cause they tell ya so)!
  17. Wondering what I should prepare for in the way of power outage? Any advice? Don't want to go to a gas powered unit and like the idea of a car powered inverter. I have a 100w car inverter but I am thinking of moving up possibly to this with 400W http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-400-Watt-12-Volt-120-Volt-Inverter/dp/B001RNOHBC/ref=pd_sbs_auto_2 I can reach my tank with 50ft of extension to my car. Thinking I can run 1 Koralia, a small air pump and a 100W heater and not even bother with the sump on a 72 gal. The heater won't keep up over a lot of hours, but I live in a suburban area that usually does not have extended outages.
  18. Got a Bubble Blaster 3000 coming in in two days to replace stock (new) pump on Vertex IN180 gen2. Here is what the stock pump performance looks like on my LR tank. It's output through outlet is minimal. I will post the BB pump change in a couple of days.
  19. You are not using a CA reactor now, Kim? PS: Thanks for the post on Portlandia. Gotta be the the funniest thing around (if your twisted, and Yes, I am)!
  20. I'm in. This time I will buy something. LOL.
  21. I saw that movie! Why do you say so last year? I already dose Kalk and you don't like the Kalk since you sold the reactor to me, right? Why not? If I want to dose I do have the pumps. I use the Connect Four on the left to do dosing calculations. Kinda old school.
  22. Anyone have a good link on basic Calcium reactor set-up and running. When our site was down I ran across a sale thread for a calcium reactor on Reef Frontiers and bought it! I don't need to run it now but will likely have the need in the near future. That and I have been hounded by Clay (such a baby) that I should get one. Besides I like gadgets!
  23. Hey John I can throw Elos and API into the mix in the PNWMAS TESTORAMA!
