  1. Very Cool get together! Feels like family. A very dysfunctional one (the only kind I know and respect) but family all the same. Thank You Douglas! You are the man (and your boy is growing so much)!
  2. I'll bring a rack (24) of Coke (not that kind Roger) 1/2 diet & reg.
  3. I'd be interested Roger! But I won't PM you because it might encourage you to violate that "pesky" restraining order against you......
  4. This is going to be great! I will be there with bells on and a "not to revealing" tutu!
  5. Hey Mark! Good to hear from you again. Ricordea are all a very hardy coral. The clean up crew should help ya!
  6. +1 for a Royal Gramma. Very hardy and beautiful fish. Harvest, I mean Amanda, has asked me if it is OK to give you a few corals when you are ready and I agreed. Have fun!
  7. Hi Donna! This is Harvest but I am going by Amanda. Our tank is getting ready for fish in a few days. I like your tank. Goodbye.
  8. Hey Donna! Nice start! My daughter will be 8 in a couple of weeks. She has a freshwater tank that we are starting. This is your thread!
  9. Man, those anodized rockers and stud girdles sure look pretty! You need glass valve covers!! "No Replacement For ..............."
  10. Bump for a good deal! Already have an Edge, otherwise be all over this. The tanks usually run about $120 by themselves on discount. The LED's, timer, Koralia powerhead, Marineland heater, and Mag cleaner make this a smoking deal! Do you have a link to your Ebay LED's?
  11. If you have high CA and low Mg you are likely precipitating on heater and pump. You really need at least two or three kits (even from different companies) to verify your tests. When you are adding drops do not do them continuously. Drip a drop, let up on the pressure to allow for air to get in and drip again all while having the bottle completely upright. Good luck and post your results! Here is a good read: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-06/rhf/index.php
  12. Just tested some Kent. It is NOS from an order about 9 months ago: Salinity= 1.026 on recently calibrated refractometer. CA = 475 Elos Test ALK = 9.5 LaMotte Test MG = 1500 Salifert Test Because I have a good batch it does not mean that ALL batches are good. Conversely, as Mandinga pointed out, it should be checked more rigorously.
  13. Did The Clayster weep uncontrollably, like the little schoolgirl he is?
  14. Anyone have Douglas' phone? KVAL TV is showing up around 2PM and I wanted to let him know along with our mouthpiece Roy.
  15. Be nice to His Royness! I just contacted the Eugene Register Guard and KVAL TV to see if they were interested and Roy agreed to do the mouthpiece work if needed. KVAL wasn't sure since he said he was short staffed on the weekend. I told him I wasn't interested in his physical problems. We shall see?
  16. Hey Douglas. Think it would be worthwhile to contact the Register Guard (our local paper) and see if they would like to do a story on the meeting? The story would be about what happened at the meeting and to build up interest in PNWMAS. NOT PREVIOUS to the meeting. Might make an interesting photo rich story for them. Maybe they could talk to you and an officer of the club? Just putting it out there.
  17. I'll bring some name tags too! Think it just might help.
  18. I'll bring cones and sprinkles and a couple of bags of ice too.
  19. Here is a view (scroll down) and list of participants. We are right across from the speaker's booths! I have visions of Roger, in our booth, blowing kisses at Bob Fenner. (nono) This looks very cool! http://www.marineaquariumexpo.com/SEAMAX%20INDEX.html
  20. I've used the mesh socks before and have been disappointed. My thinking was;200 mesh vs 200 felt and they should be the same at filtering. Plus the mesh is easier to clean. Well it is easier to clean but it does not filter anywhere near as much as felt. It seems the the indirect path that the water is forced to take with felt material allows for a much higher exposure to capture the particulates.
