  1. I have a Ric Yuma that I recently pried off of it's location on a rock. It tore a little bit of the foot - no mouth and none of the top. It has now developed into a full Ric.
  2. "The coral is expected to be transferred to the Blue Planet Aquarium at Ellesmere Port today. It will then go on display to visitors while further inquiries are carried out with the Indonesian authorities."
  3. I'd like to get something. Okay, don't know if this is a stupid question - are these the same sponges that Angels eat? I'd love to grab something that my Blue Girdle can nibble on to supplement his diet.
  4. Wow - that Japanese Pygmy Angel is gorgeous. But $1,600? Yikes.
  5. Oh - duh - I just noticed you had some specific fish listed in your post.
  6. wait, i'm confused. is there an angle called a "pygmy angel"? I was thinking of pygmy as the generic term for Centropyge angels (e.g. flame, coral beauty). I'm amazed when people spend that much for a fish. You have to have a lot of disposable income - or a serious addiction.
  7. Well now I'm curios - what's the expensive angel? I didn't think any of them were all that expensive. Potters?
  8. Those are all gorgeous - but those are some heavily actinic'd pictures. This is a great idea! That whole zoo grow out got me thinking the same thing - but about acros. This is a great way to acquire expense pieces with less of a hit to the wallet - as long as you're the patient type.
  9. No, I'm not a 12 year old girl or a self-involved actor/musician.
  10. Well, the angler will mostly perch in one spot, so pick something with a little more movement.
  11. Ugh - cyanide collecting. I hope they rot in prison.
  12. That sucks - sorry. They used to sell it. I guess they got in a little trouble for selling with out Rx's.
  13. http://www.1800petmeds.com/ It will say Rx required, but it ships without one - just proceed through checkout. It's a bit pricey, but enough people have been posting needing it lately, that I bet people would just on splitting a pack. Oh, and get the large dog size, since the usage guides (e.g. Melev's) uses that size when they talk about how many gallons the pill treats.
  14. Yep. I did actually think about catching the clown and putting the in a QT for a couple week - would be pretty easy to do, though, since they come right to the surface at feeding time. I'll give it a few days and keep over feeding a bit. If the Angel doesn't seem to be getting a larger share, i'll see about moving the clowns out. Thanks for the advice, everyone!
  15. Okay, so I got my new fish (rock2) (rock2) So, my problem is that he's still pretty shy, and a bit of a slow feeder. He's eating - I see him pick at the food (Rod's) that i put in. But he hasn't yet figured out that I'm the food source. Where as the clown (mostly the female) is 1/2 out of the water before the food hit's the tank. She is very aggressive and has a fat belly before the shy angel even realizes there's food floating around. Is there a method or strategy that others have found to get food to the slow feeders until they figure out the system? Do I just over feed the tank for a while? Thanks.

    id? sps

montipora tuberculosa? (good pic, by the way)
  17. The fish that I most regret not being able to get (in a reef tank) is a wartskin angler. They are just so cool.
  18. Blizzard has never given a definite date - they are always very careful about that. Speculation is that it will be released on March, but Blizzard typically releases about 6 months after the public Beta starts - which makes March look not so good. I can't wait for SC2. Playing a lot of Left 4 Dead 2 right now - great game.
  19. That's my biggest problem with this Global Warming insanity. We aren't focused on reducing actual polution. Everyone is talking about carbon. Carbon dioxide is 0.004 of the atmosphere, and there is NO scientific data that suggests is does anything to Global warming one way or the other. But we are spending billions of dollars to control it. What is we spend that money on ACTUAL pollutants! Not only is Global Warming a fraud, designed to make people rich and generate political power - but it is stealing the focus from actual issues! DOH! Okay, I'm done. I get too worked up over Global Warming. I'll bow out of the thread now.
  20. No, no - I apologize. I didn't mean to sound snarky. This is a tough issue - and people believe passionately about it on both sides. I just wish that as a whole, we had a better understanding of the price we are talking about paying to combat an issue which hasn't been scientifically proven, and on which honest debate is being silenced. To someone else's point - Al Gore is about to become a Billionaire (Source: NY Times) off the back of this issue - all the while he drives in limos, flies in private jets, and has a 10,000 square foot mansion. Really?
  21. Well, let's start with your job, and then see how you feel. Besides, your assumption is flawed. It has been proven that jobs will be lost. There is no reasonable basis to believe that jobs will be created - the net impact will be job reduction. Given that there is absolutely no evidence that what is being proposed will have any effect whatsoever on global climate - your cavalier position about creating additional unemployment - during a period of already record breaking unemployment - is mystifying. (scratch)
  22. No, but every other piece of scientific data does. At least the data that hasn't been fraudulently manipulated, flat out made up, or conveniently deleted.
  23. I'm a little surprised to see so much discussion about croping or such. Obviously croping the size of a picture wasn't what was being discussed. I think we all understand the difference between honest and dishonest business practices. The bottom line is that if I suspected that someone was misrepresenting their product, I wouldn't buy from them any longer. If I knew that someone was doctering their photo's, then I would state that in the feedback forum to make sure others were aware. However, keep in mind that corals can look very different from tank to tank, for very legitimate reasons; different light spectrums, water conditions, water flow, etc. So, unless you know for sure that the photos were doctured, than I wouldn't risk falsly impuning someone's reputation.
  24. Yeah - I think the scale is taking it a bit far - and you have to worry about how much water gets on the scale, etc. I think you can do a subjective judging. The GOC committee can pick the top 5 and all participants can vote. I do think it would be fun to branch out from zoos.
