I have a white anemone. Don't know scientific name. I got it from Upscale few months ago. Anyway, it's been missing for few days. I assume it must be buried somewhere behind big rock. Assume it's dead. should I look for it and remove it? That means I have to move the rocks around. Or just let the hermit crabs, crabs break it down. what should I do?

Thanks Jay. Just changed about 35G of water, Crystal Sea salt, from SeaHorse. I need to develop a better way to change water. I just have a 29G sump and protein skimmer, no calcium reactor. How do I add carbon, phospho, etc to the sump?

the tank is 4 month-old is fully cycled. I have a floating magnet which only cleans off the slime or acrylic surface. The brown algae needs a lot of scrubbing to get if off. I have to get a scraper to if this will help.

I'm getting a thin layer of brown algae on the surface of coral sand every day. Also brown algae growing on the acrylic surface of the tank is so hard to scrub off. I use a white scrubbing pad. Any recommendation to use a scraper or anything else to clean off the algae.

I got 2 from marinedepot, $31 each including Max-Jet 1200.

Thanks Impur. I'll check out those sites. I already checked marinedepot.com I just put two MJ1200 with mod 1600 in my tank last night. The flow is crazy. My Xenia does not like it. I have to find another low current spot for it. I have to see if LPS can take it. Next step is upgrade lighting to 250 W.

I think that's good idea. I'm new to this money pit hobby too. Still struggling to get the right flow and lighting to maintain acroporas and SPS. I'm still learning and spending too much time already with the tank. Albany is too far to go. Perhaps meeting in Portland... Let's see how many people are interested in this concept.

Thanks Reefboy. I figure that might have happened to the acro frags, millipora I bought. Luckily they were not too expensive. Green slimer, chalis, another green millipora are doing OK. I hope with the upgrade flow and lighting will help. What is TMPCC and where to buy it?

Do you need to do acclimation for SPS and LPS corals? I read in a reef book that you have to do it. I have not been doing it for the few SPS frags. They did not survive. I just put them in the tank directly. I know current flow and lighting are important too. But this may explain why I get coral bleaching quickly. What you think?

I ordered 2 MJ 1200 with mods and should be here tomorrow. I'll set them up and see what will happen. I got to get new lights, 250W X 2. Amazing Aquarium is selling for $275 for two. Has anyone bought light from Amazing Aquarium in Albany?
