  1. I had those about 4 or 5 years ago I think, and decided they were most likely Waminoa sp. Tried melanurus and yellow coris wrasses, no dice. I think you are right about them eating copepods. Unfortunately they were immune to flatworm exit and another brand of similar product. I finally treated the tank with something that killed them but it killed all my pods, brittlestars and other worms too and it took years to get those back, I still only have a few. I think dipping new corals is a good idea for them. Anyone successfully treat them with a product that is not so harmful? Here is a link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convolutidae Kate
  2. I'm in SE near Foster and 205, and I need to cut back my green Sinularia colonies if you are interested. 20 bucks, your choice of stalks, some are huge. Also have mushrooms, ricordea Thanks, Kate
  3. Thanks, sent PM. I don't use tapatalk or get online every day, sorry! Kate
  4. The rock with both zoas and the R florida is gone, as well as a few other Ricordea. PowderBlue spoke up for the Red Planet piece and I still have mushrooms for Sergio, another person is coming for Ricordea, but I will still have some baby blue yumas and multicolor floridas I think. I am cutting frags if people want fresh cuts of the acroporas or green Sinularia, and made a few more frags while waiting of odd stuff. Probably will do a new thread next weekend with updated stuff. Still got plenty of Stylophora pistillata in various sizes. Thanks everyone!
  5. Thanks! I take about 20 bad shots for every good one, sure glad I am shooting digital not film At this point the RO unit, shrooms, ricordeas, large Red Planet frag, and zoa/ricordea combo are pending. Forgot to mention too that I will take fresh cuts off my neon green sinularia if anyone is interested. Small 10, medium 15 large 20. By "small" I mean a piece that would be 30-45 in a store.
  6. I am not getting about half of my PM's, please reply directly to this thread or let me know you sent a PM so I can PM you back if I don't get the message...
  7. Hey, I did not receive your PM, could you resend and check the name?
  8. Well last December was going to shut down a tank and liquidate but we had so many storms, got pneumonia, and found my SPS were suffering from low alk and not ready to move so I got back into my tanks and no longer want to liquidate. I do however need to thin things out quite a bit and raise money for the stunning heating bills I got! The SPS are growing into eachother, it's out of hand. I do have cyano and vermetid snails in both tanks so if that's a deal breaker sorry! Location wise I am in SE Portland near the Foster exit from I-205. I only have a few fish bags so if possible bring your own, a bucket might also be good for the larger things. Waterway Tiny Might pump $50 used one year Bulk Reef Supply RO unit with 3 prefilters and DI resin post membrane. Has TDS meter and pressure gauge. No idea what the condition of the membrane is but was getting TDS 7 water out of it, guessing the resin is overdue for changing and the prefilters are fairly new but stored wet... I use tap water in all my tanks $50 ORA Red Planet frag $65-will be taking the large top piece that sticks up like a wing off the main colony, think it's about 5" wide, 4" tall and 2" viewed the other way.. Ask if you want it pre cut and healed or prefer fresh cut. Fresh cut is the best way to avoid algae and vermetids but riskier. Large pink tip Cat's Paw colony/Stylophora pistillata $70 approx 6x5x4" maybe a little more Cyphastrea colony $60 approximately 6x3x4" This is an aggressive grower-would look great covering an old dead skeleton of something but away from other corals including LPS. Color varies with lighting and Alk/Ph but I don't think it's a genuine Meteor Shower, it never got that saturated for me. Idaho Grape branching/plating montipora. Under very high light this will grow vertically, better purple color under LED's or higher in the tank. This piece approximately 8x5x5 $45 (cheap due to sand killing part of the flat area at the base, fragile at edges) Ricordea florida multicolor, orange, green $15/head Multihead multicolor R florida with zoanthids $25 Baby blue Ricordea yumas $10/head $5 if small. Picture shows 2 smalls on a shell, behind that a small, a large and a tricolor R florida on one piece of rubble. I also have a full size one on a newer clean frag plug in the other tank. Sunset Mushrooms 2 polyps on frag plug $20 color varies from mostly orange to mostly green depends on lighting and age Seafoam mushroom on frag plug $10 Another pink tip cat's paw $50 approx 4x4x2.5" Fresh cut Acro frags on request
  9. After thinking for 24 hours I decided since i really enjoy LPS and softies more than SPS and they are easier I am going to part out my 90 SPS tank instead and then cram whatever is left into that tank and shut down the bowfront. This is going to take some time, will have to photograph everything and price it and then will start a new thread. I got messages from people interested in the duncan and other good size colonies, am going to try and frag off 2 heads to keep and then price them. I can't figure out how to post photos on this forum but the pictures are here https://electrokate.smugmug.com/For-sale/
  10. I am hoping someone will take the entire tank due to the lack of lighting, not to part it out, so first offers for the entire system will be given dibs. If i have to part out will start a second thread with photos I think... I have SPS galore in the other tank that I should sell and probably could buy the AI Sol ballast with the money from them and keep the tank I suppose. But it's probably time to give up.
  11. Trying to put up a photo... still can't figure it out but it is here https://electrokate.smugmug.com/For-sale/i-CHPZ3qX/A
  12. I can't figure out how to add a picture, sorry! Haven't been using the forum for a couple years, it's all different now
  13. Hey, I have bills up the wazoo and a lousy income and now a light broke on my tank. Considering selling it. Anyone interested in a 72 bowfront that needs lights? Comes with sump, SWC cone skimmer, Ebo Jaeger heater, a korallia that works and another that spins backwards. Fish are one sailfin tang, one large Chromis atripectoralis, one male melanurus and one bangai. No snails or hermits. Corals are large and need fragging, mostly softies. This is an easy beginner tank that rarely has issues other than algae or vermetid snails which are currently in remission. I have no idea what to ask for it, is it ok to post a thread just seeing if anyone is interested in the whole thing? I'd also want to keep a frag off the gorgonian since I have had it over 10 years. Here't the last picture I took before the light died today... the sailfin is in my other tank, I want to keep the flame angel and yellow tang since I have had them over 10 years:
  14. Hi, do you still have the light? My AI Sol just bit the dust...
  15. I just googled temp alert aquarium and a number of companies' products popped up... I am not yet up to the cost of a pair of monitoring systems for my tanks so I use a digital thermometer with alarm set to 83 so I can catch it before it hits lethal, and a heater that is small enough to hopefully not have the ability to quickly do much damage. I get my alarmed thermometer at World of Wet Pets, they last years but don't splash water on them! Batteries are replaceable. Also I use a separate thermostat instead of the built in heater thermostat, mines not digital and now off the market, well over 10 years old but others are available that hopefully will be similarly low maintenance and long lived. I taped the knob once set where I wanted it after accidentally bumping it a few times. The alarm also will go off if the tank goes down to 76. Pretty sure that little alarmed thing has saved my reef at least a couple dozen times, mostly in summer when I needed to add fans to the sump to cool it.
  16. I have a single female black ocellaris clown who could use a mate, she's too old to breed I think but could use company. Anyone have a spare? Can trade for frags, or buy.
  17. I saw in your tank thread you have Forest Fire Montipora, do you still and would you sell me a frag? I would take the clownfish if they are still available, they would go in a 72 bow that I have had up for years and I haven't bought fish in a couple years so no diseases... Got a couple RBTA's and some LPS they can use. Hope you are not getting out of the hobby just thinning for the move cause your tank thread is awesome! I moved a year ago, it wasn't fun, good luck.
  18. Hey, I've got a room open for a reasonable adult who doesn't mind living with a couple introverted artists, a bird, and some fish tanks. We are both allergic to cats, but other pets negotiable-allergic to some dogs. A guy moved out and I can either rent out his room or move into that myself and offer the two small rooms I currently use-one for sleeping other for art space/office. The vacated room needs painting so will be available soon and you could pick the colors within reason, or I can vacate into that room immediately. All 3 bedrooms are on the 2nd floor, the office/art room is off the dining room. There is a full finished basement with space and wiring for one more reef and maybe a nano or frag system, but the concrete floor under the carpet is not 100% level so some engineering would have to go into that installation and we don't have AC yet so no halides-installing whole house AC and new efficient gas furnace soon which supposedly will take 2 days of indoor work. House is over 100 years old, decor is goth/punk/metal so not for everyone. Off street fenced parking, large detached garage with sink and power. Security system, hedges and fences all around, large lot. We don't care if you are vegan if you don't care that sometimes we eat bacon. Currently I live here (46 year old female educational assistant special ed) and a 45 year old male who does construction. He may also be moving soon. Anyone interested?
  19. Haha, I had the opposite results with breeders. I won't order from Alphapro again, though I did get my snowballs from him, the ones that survived his disastrous shipping did well. Shrimpusa was great in communication, packaging, speed, accuracy of description, size of animals sent and they threw in a couple extra. It's too cold to ship I think and I lost my blues, reds and blue rilis in my move, so wondering if anyone local has any to sell or trade? I only have the neon yellows and snowballs right now and the yellows are just recovering from the move so I can't trade them yet.
  20. Well I survived my moving, that was not awesome. NEVER MOVING A REEF TANK AGAIN! Big thanks to everyone who helped, especially when it got stressful. Since the move I am trying to reestablish my freshwater shrimp tanks, and lost some strains but others are fine. I was wondering if anyone in our club has Neocaridina species they are breeding and want to sell or trade for coral or other shrimp, and curious to hear if any neo breeders have experimented with crossing snowball shrimp with more colorful varieties. Very tempted to throw a snowball female with a carbon rili male as i suspect genetically the rili trait is dominant, perhaps incomplete dominant, but I think the snowball trait is also incompete dominant so I might get a blotchy ugly mess... or I could get carbon rilis. I wouldn't cross a cherry with a yellow or blue, just curious how these all white/colorless individuals do with other morphs. I lost my female blue dream and carbon rili shrimp and all my regular reds, so looking for bloody mary reds and carbon rilis, have plenty of snowballs, frags, and can trade plain old greenbacks. So... who's breeding shrimp locally?
  21. bowfront will definitely go, so that's something. Will head to uhaul and see if my friend and I can get the stand in the basement so I can set that system up and mix water for the bow in it. Gonna be another week I guess. Hope the heat doesn't last.
  22. well had a panic yesterday when guys helping with another job said no way the tanks will fit down the basement stairs but the 72 definitely will go. They might be right about the stand for the other tank but I think it will go if on it's end. The window for moving this week has passed, next week? I dont' want to move them in high heat anyhow, hard enough keeping the tanks oxygenated running. The stand for the other tank is really heavy, I feel guilty asking for help with it. Going to see if I can get the straps pro's use to move appliances.
  23. Would probably need the straps movers use on fridges, anyone have a set I can borrow? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
