I had some small aptasia and the peppermint shirmp i have took care of them. In previous tanks I never had luck with peppermint shrimp eating them but this group of shrimp seems to like them. I never see them bothering with any corals.

I agree, don't waste your money on new if you can find a good used one.

Rarely see my Sixline Wrasse and Blood Shrimp. I have a single Sunburst Anthias that I didn't see for the first couple months but now it's out most of the time.

I also have a Scooter Blenny, similar to a dragonet(pic below). It's a nice fish but it only eats frozen brine or mysis plus any pods in the tank. It has to compete with the Melanurus and Sixline Wrasses who also eat pods so I have to make sure it gets frozen on a regular basis. The Blue Tang was pretty expensive at around $50 but the Clown and Sailfin Tangs were around $30. They were also a lot smaller.

I believe i've seen the blue spotted jawfish for over $100 so that's about twice as much as my most expensive fish(Potters Angel) I do have a red spotted blenny, I think that's what you are talking about. basically the same thing as lawnmower blenny just different coloration and not as thick. it eats algae plus flake and frozen too. currently in the refugium because i haven't taken the time to take all the live rock out to catch it. old pic but looks the same.

i've had a mantis shrimp before and they are messy, i would go with the goby and pistol shrimp or I would also recommend a blue spotted jawfish because they have great personalities. back east there was a reef store that had blue spotted jawfish in a small display tank and that fish was so beautiful and a lot more active than i thought it would be. never had one but i know they are expensive. might need more sand than a few inches, from what i remember that tank had atleast 4" of sand.

i find a hole in a piece of live rock where i want the ric to be and suff the ric in the hole, cover with a small piece of rubble and wait a couple days. it's worked 2 times i've tried it. i know that's not great success but it's worked for me. i stuff the ric gently into the hole, the hole should not be too deep.

I would be interested in Ricordeas, Yumas, Zoas, and Montiporas. I have some rics, zoas and montis so they would need to be different than what i already have. check out the following thread for pictures of what i currently have. http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=8770&page=3 Even if you don't have some of the above stuff i'd consider other corals with color. I do have a frag tank so not all corals have to go in the display with the angels.

I have a large rock with lots of mushrooms and some other smaller rocks with fewer mushrooms. Two different color variations. Asking $3 a polyp and the more you buy the better the deal. Open to trades too.

Found out my Eibli Angel likes SPS with large polpys so some corals have to go. I'm looking for anything colorful. I know Zoas and Monti's are safe so let me know what you have, pics are always helpful. Thanks

Wow amazing setup and it is supprising the similarities in setups. I'm really happy with the Reeflo 250, did you use the Reeflo 250 before you got the larger collection cup with extended neck? Just wondering how much of a difference did it make? I was considering upgrading but i haven't had any unwanted algae growth. Any algae I do get the Tangs take care of it. Got to love Tangs. I would like more tangs but my Clown Tang won't put up with any new additions. I can't believe you also moved that tank. I think if i ever move i'm just leaving the tank with the house.

I will also be home on some Fridays and Mondays because we were cut to 80% time and pay at work. That means three day weekends! At least i still have a job! Thanks everyone for the compliments. I'm actually able to just sit and relax in front of it rather than work on it. I still have work to do not sure if i'll ever be done. I shouldn't say work on it, i enjoy it too much to call it work. My next plan is to swap out (3) of the 250 watt MH and replace them with (2) 400 watt MH that I got from Bob. Only 50 watts difference but i'm thinking the 400 watt MH will cover more of the 32" width of the tank. Not sure if it's the best idea since i really don't get much algae growth on the front panel but I'm interested to at least try it and see how the corals react. I plan on going with Radium bulbs. Been told by many that those are some of the best.

So here is the deal. Hope this isn't against any club rules. As you can imagine it gets pretty expensive stocking a 400 gallon reeftank. I've found most people on craigslist want to sell their setups as a whole, not in parts. This works out in my favor because I buy the entire setups and keep the stuff I want and sell the rest of the stuff to pay for everything. I've done this a couple times and i've found that I can break even if not make a little and that is with keeping stuff. It's a lot of work and time transporting all this stuff home and then cleaning everything but I don't mind doing it and i've gotten some nice stuff. It also requires a very patient and loving wife! She just thinks I'm nuts!

fish Latest addition has been a Midas Blenny, probably the last fish. I actually think i'm running out of space for fish. Main reason i'm out of space is because the Tangs still have a lot of growing to do.

25 to 30 gallons per week on the current tank. Before that I was probably doing a 30 gallon water change per month on the 200 gallon tank.

My experience I moved a 120 gallon tank and all the livestock 4 hours from MD to PA a couple of years ago. I had (2) 30 gallon igloo coolers for the most important livestock and than I just put the rest of the hardier stuff in (2) trashcans. I moved in late spring so temperatures were a lot warmer than now. The trailer you have an enclosed one? If not I would think the generator and heaters are a must. I still have one of the coolers I moved stuff in that you can borrow. Looks like the one in the following pic.
