  2. Im getting it for my personal tank. You want to split the shipping with me?
  3. Yep I got one. Let me know when you may be around, Ill make sure its accessable. May have an aquaclear as well. I found several smaller ones.
  4. If you thought Fishbase was exhaustive with its 31000+ entries. Then this site will blow you away. The founders of this site are trying to catalog every known life form some 1,800,000. Its called the Encyclopedia of Life You may notice I said "every known life form". Thats exactly what they want. A data base of everything from virus' to the Blue Whale.
  5. OK. Ill call in the morning and see if they carry it for sure. Then I'll know for the future too.
  6. They carry it at Lowes, though I cant say they carry it that small. Can you measure the inside diameter and outside diameter for me? I think I have a wholesale supplier that has it. How many feet (or inches) do you think you will need?
  7. Can you superglue his hole shut?
  8. Desjardin's Tang Zebrasoma desjardini has a dark tail. Sailfin Tangs Zebrasoma veliferum has a yellow/light colored tail.
  9. I may have a 5g tank. Ill have to search around. Though I am aways from you.
  10. Well considering there are over 2000 described species, and some scientists think there are 2X-3X more species of undescribed "starfish". How many do we see on a regular basis in our tanks? 10-20 species. It wouldn't suprise me if it was something uncommon.
  11. Jeff, Also I would like to point out that I did NOT call you out, as you implied in the initial post in this thread. I have sat by and watch you state you version of what happened. However, I feel this needs to be said. You cannot go into any business, act as you, and your crony did, and not be expected to be told to leave. I actually had people tell me yesterday that they are not surprised that I had to call the police on you, and wanted to make sure that I was physically ok. They know you, and know you become aggressive and violent. You were asked to leave because you were becoming aggressive and potentially violent. You refused, so I had to call the police. What was I supposed to do, wait for you to attack me or my daughter? As it was you scared my 20 month old daughter so bad, she has still having troubles sleeping, a couple of days later. You yourself stated that the police officer who responded couldn't see what you were talking about. If you’re so worried about it, why haven't you gotten it yet? You, yourself have stated, and restated, and I'm sure you will state it again, that you’re unemployed. So your schedule can't possibly be an issue. What time tomorrow, Monday, June 7th, will you be picking up your tank? I won't be commenting on this further.
  12. Get some anthias and youll rarely see the midas like that. He'll be swimming with them.
  13. Calvin, What was it munching on? Doran
  14. I help you move him up here. Any chance we can get one of those acros up this way? (IE to me for my personal tank) Doran
  15. Do you have a pic of the PFO's?
  16. Here is what I see any company using to establish its prices. 1) Inital cost - Purchase, and shipping 2) Cost of Holding item - What it cost until it sells (Food, space, rent, life support, etc) 3) Market value - High demand will raise this, high supply will lower this 4) Replacement Cost - How many did you have to buy to sell the ones you sold, or fast changes in inital cost 5) Advertising - Each item is responcible for a portion of the advertising costs. 6) Labor - Often the highest individual cost, both before and after a sale 7) Profit - A buisness can only expand and sustain if they are profitable. That being said. If you think something is marked to high, make an offer. A reasonable one. Dont be insulting. Worst they can say is "No." Especially when the economy is like this. Further, price shouldn't be the only thing someone uses in buying an item. For example, if an item cost more at store A then store B, ask yourself, "Why?". Does store B, give a [language filter] about you after the sale? Or do they say "All sales are final". Yes, you have to pay for labor after the sale too. Does store A, have higher quality items then store B? (This isn't always obvious on like fish, corals, etc., that cant have a branded label on them) Eliminate one of the factors above, and you may be able to lower the price. For example. You want a Black Tang? There what $300-$500 bucks right? Eliminate part of the "Cost of holding item" by prepaying for it, and picking it up when it as soon as it comes in. You will probably see a lower price. When someone asks me for a price quote, I generally tell them two prices. A prepaid one, and one if I have to stock it.
  17. Andy, Completely understand what your saying. Please note I didn't state whom the transaction was with. Or say anything bad about them. But your point is taken.
  18. Drew Buscho Blue Inc Screenprining 321 NE Davis Portland, OR 97232 (503) 232-8578 I haven't purchased anything from him. He is a customer of mine.
  19. Ok so we just had a VERY bad transaction with a member of this forum. Check my forum and you can probably figure it out. So as a pre-emptive strike I am letting you know. I've always felt its better to not hide your skeletons in a closet, and wait for someone to find them. So dont take anyones word on their dealings with The Fish Tank People. Come check us out for yourself. Heck if you have never been here before, print this out, and bring it and get 5% discount. Moderators: This is not meant as a spam-vertisment. I really truely did have a bad situation. I am however not the type of person who likes to spread rumors, or libalous talk about people. Ask anyone of my customers.
  20. Frank, If it falls through bring it to the shop for credit. Doran
  21. Any interest in Pink Carnations?
  22. Did a little research after I freaked out. It was at the opposite end of the tank from the Zoanthids. I saw it very clearly and even though my photography leaves much to be desired it doesnt appear to be a Zoa eating Nudibranch. Thanks Dennis.
