  1. Totally Exotic Corals has donated some very nice high end corals for us to auction off...this will be like you described...a bidding war(plotting) There will also be items available, including corals, zoanthids, dry goods, gift certificates, etc available to buy raffle tickets for. There will also be corals, dry goods, etc given away as door prizes. Hope that clears it up! Kris
  2. Raffle tickets will be $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 Kris
  3. This sounds like a great idea! Let me know how things progress so we can post the date on the calander and notify others if neccessary! We can even have John send out evites! Kris
  4. Well...there will be the corals that Jody posted in the christmas frag trade thread that will be auctioned off. He will also be bringing a handful of corals for door prizes. Every paid attendee will get one free door prize ticket! We will also be raffling of Corals and Zoos plus other goodies that we have received so far! It out to be a ton of fun!
  5. Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you....hope you got some cool stuff for your tank! Kris
  6. My RBTA is doing great...it did however move under a rock to avoid the continued molestation from the Domino Damsel that was hosting it LOL!! I am assuming that when it gets hungry, it will move again, until now, it is feeding from what ever gets fed and floats it's way. Kris
  7. Going Three Times.... I would like to let everyone who has pre-purchased their tickets for the Christmas party that we have received your payments and have sent out a "receipt" that includes all of the purchased dinners. Bring that along to the dinner and someone will be at the door to check you in! It is going to be a great night. We will have great food, wonderful corals courtesy of Totally Exotic Corals, Soutas and Oxx155. We have also received several other donations as well. You can check those out here : http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9492 We will be raffling off some items, auctioning off some items and giving away some items as door prizes! Stay tuned for the exact details! I also wanted to let you know that I have extended the purchase deadline to Sunday, December 7th, 8am. I have spoke with Mr. Kwan and the absolute latest he can receive the details is Sunday. If ANYONE has concerns about using pay-pal, or has any other issues that is holding them back from buying a ticket, please PM me...I am willing to make arrangements so that we can get you there! I am really looking forward to this party, and I hope you all are too! Thanks, Kris
  8. Jody, I will try to make arrangements to be there around 3:15 pm to 3:30pm to set up. Kris
  9. Andy, The Officers/BOD is having a meeting this weekend to determine what is what! Keep posted for the updates! Kris
  10. It has come to my attention that there are a few that do not use PAYPAL. If you want to go, but do not want to purchase via pay pal, LET ME KNOW ASAP! We can pre-purchase for you and you can pay us cash or check! Hope this helps! Kris
  11. There will be raffle tickets sold at the dinner. Expect one or two door prizes as well...these tickets will be free to all that attend-1 per person. Jody..the coral pictures would be fabulous! Kris
  12. Welcome aboard! If you feel up to it, join us for our annual Xmas party! It will be a blast! Kris
  13. We will mail out tickets and also have a list at the door! Thanks so much for your contribution! Can't wait for that frag auction and the raffle! Kris
  14. This is the final menu. We are figuring 3 hours give or take. Kris
  15. I used a UV sterilization system in my 700 gallon pond. After a summer of hair algae, I sold it. I didn't work there, so I am not ready to spend the money on it for my reef until I heard better success stories. Kris
  16. So, the menu choices are pretty cut and dry on the shopping cart except for one....the chinese menu... Sorry for the confusion...here is what you will get when purchasing the "Chinese fare". Sweet and Sour Pork, Barbeque Pork Fried Rice, Sauteed Vegetables, Chicken Broccoli with Mushrooms, Kwan's Chow Mein with Beef Thanks, Kris PS: I know that Pre-purchasing is a bit risky, but this is the ONLY way that I can let Mr Kwan know what he will need for that evening. As of yet, I have only a few PURCHASED tickets, and need to let him (Mr K) know by next Sunday (12/07/08) at the latest. We have worked really hard at providing a wonderful atmosphere as well as wonderful prizes, a coral auction, etc and GREAT prices! Please, please, please....step up and support this years part! Purchase your tickets!
  17. In these times of rough economy, oversea wars and poverty here in our on homeland, I hope that every single one of us can take a few momemnts to pray for others that may not have much to be thankful for. I wanted to volunteer this year, but due to being wrapped up in my own situations, I was not able to. I am truely thankfull for my health, the health of my family and for all of the wonderful things I have been able to do and acquire thanks to hard work and good morals and a wonderful net of friends and family that have helped along the way! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you at PNWMAS! I hope you enjoy a safe and happy day. Kris Waters
  18. Oh no, I have heard of this before. I believe the major cause of the is trauma, but could also be popeye. Here is a link from wetwebmedia. Hope it helps and good luck. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/popeyefaqs.htm Kris
  19. True...and I am not sure if it is a coating or just a immunity to it. It seemed to me as if the damsel was enjoying the "sting" of the anemone...I believe that many fish in the damsel line, including clowns have that immunity! Obviously, many fish do not! Kris
  20. The 55 gallon was acrylic...it took a couple of days and the scratch removal kit to get it good and after 15 or so years, that tank had some scratches! You have to do the ENTIRE surface, not just "an area". Talk about wax on wax off...the bi-cepts were bulging those days. Once the water was in, the small scratches couldn't be seen... I would never have acrylic again either...It was way to difficult to work with...plus, the euro bracing makes it nearly impossible to get the coraline scrapped...I had huge bruises on my arms from that! Not to say that you don't have to be carefull with glass....
  21. Welcome aboard! I know as well how frustrating setting things up and getting things right can be. So, to start off, tell us a bit more about your nano tank, ie stock list, water parameters, type of testing equipment, and then add in the problems you are having. As JManrow says, there is a lot of experience floating around in this forum! We just need some info so we can help! Kris
  22. It was a one night affair...so far it hasn't (the domino) been back. It is true that the host as well as clowns...It also loved the frog spawn and the devil's hand. Kris
  23. My brand new anemone! I had to laugh though...here is this tiny little RBTA and this HUGE domino damsel...hopefully the clowns will get the hint... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1135138277539072563 Very funny indeed. Kris
