  1. John, Excellent work. I think that the Saturday date and time frame will be much better! I will be there. Kris
  2. If you are a paid member and have sent in payment after June, 2009, please send me a PM with your name, screen name, date of payment and form of payment...ie paypal or meeting. I just spent a few hours going over some records and want to make sure they are correct! You can also email me at kris_waters@msn.com. Thanks a bunch. Kris
  3. I use the screens on my 1 1/2" bulk heads. Two feed my overflows and 2 feed my closed loop. Google "bulkhead screens"... here is one site http://www.flexpvc.com/cart/agora.cgi?product=BulkheadFittingScreens There are several others out there! BTW, I have a Dart for my Closed Loop. I wish I would have drilled my for the outputs...now I have a "manifold" of sorts that loops around the top of my tank (out of sight). I have four out puts that I switch around depending on what I need.
  4. Thanks so much for such a generous offer! We here at PNWMAS do have a format for getting teachers tanks! We have interested teachers fill out an online application. We ask that they join our club (no charge) and sign up at the wiki site to give updates on the tank! Our club can take donations for tanks and supplies and deliever these supplies to teachers! Let me know about the donation...we can get you a receipt so you can write it off on the taxes as well. As for the teacher interested in obtaining a tank and being part of the TFT program, follow the links.... http://www.tanksforteachers.wikispaces.com There should be an application on the site. Fill it out and send it in to me! Thanks, Kris
  5. Wow...3 years old? It has passed its time dear Ryan. Check Ebay and Craigs for the going rate...
  6. Anyone know where to get some locally? I like the bulk stuff as its cheaper. Waves had some, but it had been taken home the last time I was through. Kris
  7. http://purelyh2o.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=171&category_id=32&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53 This pretty cool eh? Kris
  8. I have one, never used it. Will use it now. I put in a couple of my Hydors (#1) for a bit of extra flow. It seems it was shorted out. I found out the hard way when I touched me sump and got shocked. The PH's where not plugged into a GFI...but into a powerstrip. Not only did I get shocked, but the majority of my LPS and SPS took the toll. This all happened in two weeks while I was gone in Bend... I am not sure if the grounding probe would have helped or not...but I did learn a lesson about always using GFI's. Kris
  9. I have one as well...not to highjack or anything....He Nyles...how bout' a grab bag for $50? Kris
  10. Very awesome time I have had as President of the Pacific North West Marine Aquarium Society! It certainly has been a whirlwind of a year! After all, when John Manrow called and asked if I would be interested in running for Vice President last May, I said "Sure! That would be fun!" The next thing I know, I am President! I have met a lot of fine individuals the last year, and I want to take a second to thank each and every person who has devoted their own personal time to this club! Brandy Bicknell...your effort in record keeping was immaculant to say the least! I realize how much effort and time it took to keeping things "in order". Thanks so much for your commitment! I hope I can keep the same pace in the year to come! John Manrow...you know a lot of people! It is truely apparent that your experience and time in the hobby in INVALUABLE to this club! You have gotten some great speakers and have secured a TON of fabulous donations for our club members to enjoy via raffle and drawing wins! I congratulate you on your new position as President! Jay Payne...wow. I am not sure how I would have functioned if I didn't have you to lean on! You have provided me with a ton of information on the workings of this club and the workings of "an organization" as a whole! I really enjoyed spending time with you at some of our events this year! You are a real kick! Thanks again for all of your insite! Dave Durr, Doran Figart and Miles Dodge...thanks for extending your time to the Board of Directors. Each and everyone of you had something inteligent and important to bring to our club. It is with great minds...that an organization like ours survive! Doran and Miles...I will be sad to see you go! Dave...good luck in the impending run off! Rob Allen...Are there really words I can put down to describe how awesome it is that you moved to Portland?! You and Carolyn are the some of the neatest individuals I have ever met! Rob, you have revamped our Web Site, brought instite from "abroad" (meaning outside of the greater NW LOL!) and have given this club a vision in direction! I look forward to continue working with you for many years to come! And, how can I forget...the many, many members that have made such an impression in my life! Put the difference of opinions aside...you are all a great bunch of people! Each and every one of you has something to bring to this club! Afterall, with out different "takes" on life...experience is non-existent. It takes many views, from many people, and many different interactions to make a person "seasoned" and "well rounded"...and ultimately, experienced. I am glad that I had the experience as President of this great club! Good luck to John Manrow, your new President. Mark Jackson, your new Vice President. Rob Allen, your new Treasurer. Myself, your new Secretary (yeah...I couldn't let it all go!) and 4 of the 5 Board of Directors Bob Mays "Lowman" Jody Grow "reefboy" Roy Seine "stylaster" Isaac Seidel "Isaac" We will announce the 5th BOD (as there is a tie between Dave Durr and Joel Lavin-don't forget to vote!) in the next few days! Thanks again Kris Waters

  14. Ok, got some small white tubes attached to rocks, mostly outta of the light with what looks to be red feather dusters coming out. Now...I have one feather duster currently and had some in the past that died back, but not sure what or where these critters came from... Will try to get some pics. Kris
  15. I had a blast as well. Scott was a great guy! And I finally won big at the raffle! The corals love the DT's! And I can't wait to cash in that GC from TEC! As for the video...its an hour long and I will have to edit it...I will then upload it to Youtube and place a link here on the site. It will also be burned to DVD for our library. Kris

  18. There is a nice park about 11 miles north of Salem (close to the I5 corridor) called Willamette Mission State Park. http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_139.php Perhaps this would be another option. Kris
  19. Perhaps the poll should include another option: ie. "Would you attend the picinic if at another location" or something to that effect. We have the date of Aug 15th set. Perhaps we can check with a few other parks to see if they have anything available. Kris
  20. Hey now...It could be a "girl cave" too! Congrats on the new room. Kris
  21. I would like a few polyps of some zoas. Right now I have some nice orange colored ones and some dark green with light green centers. Sooo, and other color would be nice and I got about $20.00 or so to spend. Kris PS...I have some nice candy canes, but not quite sure how to frag those bad boys. I have nuclear greenm, watermellon green and teal.
  22. I could come up with some random poll if you like! Thanks for your kind support. Kris
  23. The time frame for officer nominations is now over. Elections would now begin, yet all of the officers are uncontested! This means that the following individuals will begin July 1, 2009! Congratulations and a big thanks to those offering up their free time for our fine club! John Manrow-President Mark Jackson-Vice President Rob Allen-Treasurer Kris Waters-Secretary We typically combine the VP and Vendor Relations position so it may be that Mark wears two hats! I also want to thank Brandy for all of her hard work! Thanks a bunch. Kris
