  1. $100 Dart pump - I have had for years and years... Bought it for a closed loop flow system and my plumbing leaked. Ran for 24hrs or less then sat in a Rubbermaid since ~2008. Retails around $300 $40 Classic 1000-HOB Hang On the Back Protein Skimmer 90 Gallon With External Pump - Reef Octopus. I used it on my nano/frag tank. Could use some cleaning but it's pretty clean as is. Retails for $250 $80 Aquac ev180 skimmer - came with a Craigslist deal years ago. I've never used it but I did use one on a previous tank and it performed well. It's very clean. Retails for $340 $60 6lbs unopened gfo - ended up my tank didn't need gfo. In a side note, I have cases and cases of 24" and 36" t5, 48" t12 vho, and power compacts. All in 10k and actinic. I bought out inventory a few years ago from an aquarium company that went out of business. They are individually boxed for retail sale. Would like to sell cases for cheap. They are being stored in Springfield. Meet up at my place 4624 SW miles ct or at the church parking lot 7555 SW 45th Ave. Open to trades, but trying to dumpster fire these things. 2. Thanks kshack. About to head to stickman for a beer, I'll look into it. What price point are you looking for with and without the tank? I have a few 20 lbs from beer brewing but only one 5lb
  3. 150 display and 40 sump/refugium
  4. Ideally a whole system, but let me know what you got. I live in Portland but willing to travel.
  5. Where are you located? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

  7. I have 5 or six sheets of egg crate. Thick stuff unlike home Depot. I live near cuttle fish Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  8. Pump was literally used for a day to two then put in storage. Been holding onto to it to setup my frag again, but not looking like it'll happen soon still. Plumbing is black flexible spa like tubing with fittings and I think a true union valve. Probably spent $100 just on plumbing.. $160 or trade for corals or ? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  9. Traded for Coral. She has a new home Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  10. I have a modded reef octopus 3000 with neck extension and newer bubble blaster 3000 pump. I'm current running it but will be getting a different skimmer soon. Trade for Coral or $180 Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  11. I've drilled a few tanks. Use a drill with the clutch setting very low. Put a garden hose on it for cooling. Keep the drill straight and use light pressure. When it's almost through and water starts dripping use zero pressure. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  12. Some solid ideas already. Definitely setup outside of tank. Take a few pics and even a video to review later when putting in the tank. I suggest filing a few flat edges on base rock and silicon it to the glass before sand. I also drilled my rock and ran fiberglass rods through to prevent toppling. I hate rock falling over
  13. My file fish has been in two tanks. First tank it ate all my star polyps and in my sps tank it's a model citizen. She does a great job of keeping aptasia away. A must have imo
  14. If ya Google 'randys mix' it has the quantities for making mag, alk, and calc.
  15. Wanted to share my online shopping experience. Hopefully it can save someone a little time. Called around town for magnesium chloride/mag flake and nobody seems to have it in stock. Checked amazon, ebay, and all the usual places. Ended up that TrueValue has safe step 8300 50 lb for 26.99. Best price by far of anywhere I could find. Most places are near the same price, but for a 20 lb bag. The 20lb bags are 16.99. The 26.99 includes shipping it to store for pick up. I didn't bother with it, but they are also offering $10 off for an order of $75 or more. http://www.truevalue.com/product/Ice-Melt-8300-Mag-Chloride-50-Lbs-/32389.uts Got epsom salt for ~$1 a lb off of ebay in 4lb boxes. I haven't kept track, but I use something like a pound of mag a year. So I will have a ~50 year supply of Randy's mix magnesium. I will die before this is all gone. If someone needs a few pounds, hit me up. I live near Cuttle Fish in Hillsdale.
  16. Home depot makes a wet vac that fits a bucket for ~$30. I only see three options with detritus. Mechanic filter, manual cleaning, or leave it alone and watch nutrient levels rise. I like filter socks for water clarity and detritus. When Powerball money comes maybe I'll grab a roller mat
  17. I have two jebao gyres the return pump, and 4 head dosing pump. No regrets. Dosing pump heads need occasional water flushing, but no biggie. For the price?? What more do you want.
  18. A garden hose works pretty good. Afterwards put a few drops of a dechlorinator in your new tank for safe measure.
  19. I would use new sand in the tank. Make sure and rinse the hell out of it before adding to your tank. I've had good luck putting new sand in a wire strainer and rinsing. Gets rid of the fines and dust. If you are doing a refugium I would use rubble rock over sand. If not, no sand in sump. If you are using enough rock the sand is just for pretties.
  20. Cool, I replied to his pm with contract info and all. Just waiting for a response.
  21. Throw in some pavona coral, Kenya tree, radioactive dragon eye zoas and maybe some other stuff for $40
  22. Portland, about a block from sasquatch brewery
  23. Should have added that the tang is in the sump and ready for its new home.
  24. Had the tang for about 5 years. He/she is healthy and without parasites. The tang loves letting a cleaner shrimp climb over it. Trade for some space frags.
