I just had the battle of the bulkhead leaks as well. First after I got my new tankset up and running it was the bulkhead in the sump leaking. Tightening it made it worse. I had to drain the sump and unhook the pump. I put2 gaskets. One on the wet side and one on the dry side. Hooked the pump back up re-filled the sump and it fixed it. Then I noticed a trickle comeing down the drain hose from one of the overflows. Worst spot possibel to have a leak! It wasen't seated right. Turned off the return, and loosend it and re seated it with a good twist and a few cuss words. It was a nightmare! It took the better part of my 2 days off to get the 125 moved and set back up, but now it is running and leak free.

The smokeing deal was mine! It is makeing the good H2o as I type this.

I just finished this stand and canopy. Stand is 72x24x31in. tall. I constructed it with 2x4 interior for the highest possible strength. The stand is really built like a tank. Both pieces are finished in pine for a very nice look. Interior of stand has white Laminate on the floor and walls and it is caulked around all seems. Holes drilled in back for 2 4in. fans. Canopy is every bit as nice as the stand. I built this for my new 180gal. and am now letting it go because I have decided to build a cube tank instead. Sorry my digital camera is not working or I would post some pics. Also the doors on the stand I built like the doors on Travis 300 gal. cube tank. so you can see in through acrylic panles. It is all sound proofed as well with 1/4 in. foam sandwiched inbetween all panles on sides and back. PM Me to come take a look at it or for any questions. You want 12in. diameter tubing? I got 24in. sitting on my garage floor. It's called a water bottle.

Or what are your thoughts on black sand? Less reflective and just maybe algae would have a harder time growing on a less bright surface?
