  1. sounds good,, Ill mark it sold. Wanna bring some me some cala lillies from your pile when you come? Merry Christmas to my wifey
  2. These will regularly spawn and spread everywhere in your tank (my tank is proof...) but the good news is I have yet to see them take over any other coral. My SPS etc simply push them away as they grow. They have never been a pest with anything in my tank (I have no zoas or shrooms) but have spread everywhere, I rather like them
  3. Ive got the following available: Magnavore 2 $25 Magnavore 6 (with algae free scraper attachment) $40 Magnavore 6ER $60 All could use new pads (although I just use a micron cloth) Shipping +$5 anywhere.
  4. Matt I have the used one still, Ive sold the new one. Let me know if you want to come by this weekend to pick it up!
  5. I saw that Vivid tank about 3 weeks ago, it is EPIC. they also just did a sweet U shaped frag system with all the plumbing in the floor so its a total walk around setup. Dave really knows his stuff, its an impressive store. Check out the new system, its on the home page: http://www.vividaquariums.com/ And YES those corals really look like that...
  6. IMO, just make sure it isnt built by Rubin. +1 for James building it.
  7. Be sure they are caps not ignitors, HQI (in your case its actually an HPS ballast) have both.
  8. and people wonder why PNWMAS doesnt get support from local stores... BRS Is my customer too, but had to speak up for the local guys as they wont in fear of being bashed. Nuff said, we dont need to "go down that road" again.
  9. just the other half of the union to attach it. or rig something else up
  10. These are all HOB: PS-200 (no pump) AquaC Remora Pro (I gotta change this one, I called it an urchin, its the big remora) PS-350 Or you could run an RPS which is external, you would just need like a "shelf" for it to sit on behind the tank.
  11. Bump,, come on folks, lets play "lets make a deal".
  12. Skimmers Skimmers Skimmers! AND GONE GONE GONE EVERYTHING IS SOLD
  13. I agree with Steve 100%, I did alot to minimize every bit of plumbing in my tank. You can see a few 1" long pieces where the water outputs are, but the are hidden the best i could on a smallish tank. Although I dont scrape the coraline off my back wall. I would if I didnt have other things to tend too like infant twins. If I had time, motivation, or someone tending to my tank, I would insist. To me,,, nothing is worse, and yet so easy to avoid than seeing hardware through the back of a tank. It takes $4 and 15 minutes to rattle can the back of a tank, the result is priceless compared to pipes, cords, salt creep etc showing. The problem for most, is it also takes forethought.

  16. H2Ocean salt often has a bit of ferric oxide (rowaphos) in the calcium they use. The residue is this ferric oxide. I would suspect it goes for the other salts too, but I only know specifically of the H2Ocean having trace amounts of this in the calcium that is used to bump the numbers after its dehydrated.
  17. My Ebo Jager has been laying on its side in the bottom of the sump for years...
  18. FYI hort version of the Tek light has only 1 cord and 1 switch. Cost savings is hardly anything, and most want the control of 2 cords/switches.
  19. IMO i wouldnt buy any LEDs out there except Aqua Illuminations. Look at this on artical by Sanjay: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2010/5/aafeature2 Did someone say par monster?
  20. reefbuilders.com Grim is a know it all, and is wrong many times. I can counter many of his "claims" with proof from little tiny no knowledge companies like GE. Then again Im sure someone without any real lighting experience other than playing around in his basement with some light fixtures and a PAR meter knows more than the engineers at GE. *insert sarcasm here* Im sure the folks at Fulham dont know anything either....
  21. Buy Eheims Ebo-Jager. I have used countless and have never had one go bad. I sold probably 100 of them and never got one back. Always smart to use multiple small heaters, if one fails ON you are less likely to cook the tank quickly. Giving you longer to discover the issue.
  22. Grassi I think your thinking of the seal not the bearings. Im not sure the AO Smith motors are serviceable. You might be able to just buy a new motor, but at that point its probably worth just buying a new pump. Im guessing its the AO Smith Dart, not the Dart Gold with the Baldor. In my opinion they are worth the extra money. I have a Baldor Dart that is 6 years old and I havent ever touched it. No seal, no bearings etc. *knocks on wood Reeflo will be discontinuing the dart with the AO Smith, soon they have a Hybrid model that will come with a snapper, and a dart (maybe a super dart) impeller in the same box. It will have neither a baldor or AO smith motor, its a new motor being made specially for Reeflo.
