siskiou
Is this a good skimmer?
TAD
Heres someone who bought one. Looks like it sells for about 300.00 new http://www.3reef.com/forums/product-review-archives/aqua-c-ev-120-skimmer-31953.html
siskiou
Yeah, I looked at that thread before. Can't find very many reviews for it, but I guess it's an older model.
TAD
Well if you can get one that fits in your price range it might work out. I am to the point where I feel I am just chasing my tail with research for my skimmer. So I am just going to buy that MSX200.
siskiou
I know how you feel! Once I start reading, I find so many options that I can't decide at all! Where are you buying your skimmer?
Lowman
I have used Aqua C skimmers and have nothing bad to say about them.
siskiou
Thanks! The price on the one I was watching on ebay is shooting up in the last few minutes, as I should have expected! Oh well, there will hopefully a good deal on something used within the next couple of weeks.
fishmanmike01
I am using the ev120 on my 70gal and I like it very much.Keep in mind this is only one of two skimmers that I have owned so I may be a little nieve but it produces well and is very quiet. slimy fish
IMO, the aqua c skimmers are some of the best skimmers on the market. You really can't go wrong with them. They run circles around any recirc skimmer and/or needle wheel skimmers. Get one, you won't be sorry.
R-3
IMO you either love them or hate them. I had a Remora and hated it. Then I also remember a old club member James borrowed Keiths $3000 Deltec and like his Aqua C better, go figure. I think you could find a pretty cheap older Octopus skimmer since they come out with new models every week.
albertareef
I have a EV-180 on my 120 gallon and it seems to do quite well. Also seems like a good choice if vertical clearance is an issue. I don't know how much the C series and the Remora have in common given the significicant external design differences so it could be someone might hate the latter but like the former. Ryan, have you ever used one of the C series? Just wondering... Hope you find something that works out well for you!

I just wasnt a fan of the hang-on Remora. It was mainly a noise issue and the huge pump sticking in the tank that it took to make it rock! I like all these small hang-ons they are making now with internal NW pumps. Where were this when I was a hang-on guy
siskiou
Well, the price of the Aqua c went up to high for my budget on ebay, so I'm still looking.
