Posting this in the Out Of Bounds forum.

Is anyone planning to travel to see the total solar eclipse that will cross North America on April 8th?  I just booked a trip to Dallas TX to see it, so I'm crossing my fingers for clear skies.

I have only seen two other total eclipses in my life, but only one with clear skies to see the entire event.  My first one was in Australia in 2012, but the sky was mostly cloudy so I never got a good view.  But in 2017 I saw the most spectacular view from Silverton, OR with perfectly clear skies, and I'm totally hooked on seeing another one.  This one will last over 4 minutes compared to only 2 minutes in 2017.

Here's the path:

Here are some of my photos from 2017:

We watched 2017 from the top of the mountain at Tmberline, it was surreal!  My parents went to Hawaii to see the eclipse around 93.

I'll be in Fort Worth visiting friends, in addition to seeing the eclipse! I didn't get to see totality because I was traveling in norther Washington in 2017, so I'm excited for this one!

I’m going to just miss it ! Great pictures! April is usually a good time to go to Texas it’s like summer in Portland. There’s a good chance you’re going to have clear skies.😄
