defigart
I bought several 100 nassarius snails today. While looking at them I noticed one that is definately NOT this kind of snail, but is a unknown Cone Snail. Most Cone Snails are predatory, and contain extremely potent poison "darss", with which they hunt. Has anyone else had a small cone? Any negative effects? andy
Careful, if it is a venomous cone snail it can mess you up. Me, I'd kill it dead.

defigart
They aren't. One is. It is shaped different. Slightly different coloration. Shell has classic "cone shape". Proboscis is different.
siskiou
Could it be a small conch?
JManrow
There is a small conch (Strombus maculatus) that often get misidentified as a cone. They are 1/4" in size and harmless. Good grazers and multiply quickly in tank! http://www.jaxshells.org/mackj.htm (stll looking for a pic of a living one.) More than one occassion I have seen people freak out about these little guys! defigart
Its definately not Strombus maculatus. Here are some poor pics of it. My camera is old, and was cheap.
