Apex or ApexEL?

So I have been thinking about the Apex and now I am deciding if the Apex is worth the 300.00 over the EL. Are they both WiFi out of the box or does the EL require an additional module for WiFi? I know the answer is somewhat dependant on what you want so I know that I definitely want:

 

WiFi

Temp control

Ability to control my algea scrubber lighting

 

In the future:

Might do a dosing pump

Controllable gyre pumps

Trident

The Apex-EL is essentially the same as the Apex 2016, except it's missing these 3 features:

  • Salinity probe
  • ORP probe
  • 0-10v variable outlet

You can add these missing features in the future by purchasing 3 add-on modules (PM1, PM2, VDM, plus the probes), but the overall cost will end up $129 higher than if you just purchase the Apex 2016 up front, and will take up more space for the 3 modules.
