shaywood
Where can I find the fitting necessary to go from my calcium reactor effluent output to to a needle valve? It looks like maybe I need a quarter inch male to 1/2 inch female fitting?
beer503
Parkrose hardware is the best place to go to! They have pretty much all tbe fitting! Gl
Bicyclebill
I'd do jg to jg with short piece of tubing. Definitely will be the easiest and shortest optionSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As beer mentioned, park rose hardware is a great source for all those fittings if it's anywhere near you.

I might have parts here if you wanted to swing by later Sunday afternoon/eveningSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
shaywood
Thx. Went to home Depot and found two brass fittings that allowed me to go straight from outlet to valve. Could have used plastic but would have had to use a piece of tubing in between.
xmas_one
Brass is a no go on a reef. Especially on a calcium reactor with depressed pH.

xmas_one
Also, a needle valve on the effluent will clog up pretty fast. IMO, the best choice for metering CaRx effluent is a peristaltic pump.
shaywood
Does the valve go on the input or output (effluent) tube?
albertareef
Trailerman started a thread recently about flow control for a calcium reactor and there were lots of good tips in that. Definitely a no go on the brass and needle vale more commonly on the input. I would check out that thread though as it might give you some other ideas.
