Jack-the-reefer
I'm looking to replace a poopy old power head on one of my tanks. Is the rw-20 going to be overkill on a 40 breeder? Also, does anyone have one for sale? I know I've seen a few for sale, not sure if they're still around though.
reefnjunkie
RW-15 was to much on my 400

reefnjunkie
RW-8 would be my suggestion, I run 2-RW4s on my 40x20 frag tanks and wish I had 8s
reefnjunkie
I'f you want to try the 15 it may work, but I had 1 on opposing sides in the back of my tank and had to run them at 40% to avoid a snow globe. Jack-the-reefer
RW-15 was to much on my 400 Hmmm, What are you selling the 15's for? I'm tempted. I'm slowly pulling out all the sand anyway. I kind of want something to just blast along the bottom of the tank. Paratore
I use an RW-8 on my 40b frag tank and it's super strong, plenty of flow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jack-the-reefer
Is that for one or both? I can't tell from the way it's written.
TheClark
RW-8 on my son's 60 Jack, it is turned down a fair amount too. I am going to use two rw-20s on the 370. One thing is for sure, an RW-20 is anything but a poopy powerhead more like a small jet engine. An rw-15 turned way, way down may do the job, an RW-8 at full speed will probably be more than enough. One has a bad power supply I believe, which made me finally replace them both with the QD40s- Its a big powerhead, your better off with an
Jack-the-reefer
Yeah, I think I'll find an 8. Thanks though.
ChrisQ
Yep, the 20 is way too much even on my 60'' tank.

jadams7
I've got a spare rw15, you are welcome to take it for a few days and play with it if you want to try one out before you buy.

Thanks! Sounds like it's going to be way too much though. Now I just need to find someone with an extra rw8 sitting around...
TheClark
It may work cranked way down, what a great opportunity to test it out!
