siskiou
I'm picking up a scribbled Rabbitfish this weekend and am torn between quarantine and putting directly into the display. Wetwebmedia people list this fish family as one of the exceptions for quarantine, because they get stressed out easily and multiple moves might not do it any good. They are also supposed to not be subject to many diseases. My QT is only 10G. The fish's size is appx. 2-3 inches. On the other hand... Any personal experiences with rabbitfish? What would you do? Also, I'm wondering if this fish would get along with a foxface or not. From reading, it sounds like you should only have one rabbitfish per tank, or are these two different enough not to care? This is for a 120G tank.
Nyles
Depends on what store, I seen some in a LFS store this week and if it was that particular store I would dump it in without QT.
Michael7979
What other fish are in your display tank? I would wait on ananswer until knowing that.
siskiou
2 Anthias, 3 green chromis, 1 Rainford's goby, 1 Pink skunk.
DChemist
When my tank crashed, I added one without quarantine to battle algae. It's still with me.
Michael7979
My only concern would be that the skunk might bother him but I would say it's worth it.
WAVES
Skunk clowns are by far the most mellow clowns. Its not going to touch a venomus fish. To be honest Ive never had luck with QT. Every single fish I tried to QT when I was just a hobbist died before making it the 3 weeks. I dont and wont be QTing anything.
R-3
Im not into to quarantining my fish unless they get really sick. Like Joel said I have never had much success with it. I say just put him in there. Later Ryan
spectra
When I had my 55 going years ago I never Quar. anything. Everything just went in and never did lose anything that way.
siskiou
Thanks for the feedback! Any input on keeping two different types of rabbitfish in the same tank?
fish.freak
its a risk to not qt, but it is probably best for the Rabbitfish.

I would be worried about the skunk if it was defending it's territory. Possibly bothering the rabbit and it not getting a chance to settle in. siskiou
Hopefully there will be enough hiding places and space for both! The skunk is still small and has adopted a large leather as its home. S/he is holding her own against the chromis and anthias, but doesn't seem aggressive.
SeanF
You are gambling any time you don't quarantine it is just whether or not it is worth the risk to you.
