I have 4 48inch vho's over my tank now = 440 watt's or I could take out one of the workhorse ballast's and run 4 T-5's at only 216 watts. chewie Posted December 4, 2009 Share Posted December 4, 2009 If you have money burning a hole in your pocket then go for it. It's gonna cost you around $150-$200 to upgrade. Don't skimp on the reflectors. Those are KEY. I reccomend the new style Sunlight Supply T5 reflectors. Corals/color should be the same as the VHO's you have now. siskiou Posted December 4, 2009 Share Posted December 4, 2009 As a dusk/dawn set-up, yes, I do. T5s are good, but the vhos really make things pop. Again, this is just personal opinion. But that was back when T-5's were being introduced and with the many differant color blue bulbs I was curious as to what people think now.
