fly guy
That DOES suck. I liked that guy. He was nuts. The irony of all the crazy stuff a guy can do and then getting killed on fluke like that. Its too bad. : (
andy
It's a bloody shame. He brought such a genuine enthusiasm to wildlife conservation, he'll be missed the world around. I'm bummed.
Michael7979
When my kids were smaller we had to watch his show repeatedly. They just loved his wild enthusiasm and craziness. He was thought of as a nut but he taught more people things then they realize. really to bad to have this happen. he was probably the biggest and most popular naturalists since Jauques Cousteau. Thank goodness we have all those shows to go back and watch again and again............ R.I.P. You will be missed.

CCR
Sad very sad. He was so cool. It sounds like it was instant. The only way to go. R.I.P.
tidalsculpin
Very sad to hear he is gone. The enthusiasm he had for animals large and small will be missed by many young people too. He was a great teacher to the masses about nature. What kid growing up in the 90's or now doesn't know who the "croc hunter" was?
siskiou
What a shocker! My daughter just told me. We used to watch his show a lot, when our daughter was younger, and my husband met his wife and daughter once (She's from Eugene and her dad was at the nursing home/rehab center he worked at). I can't imagine what it must be like for his family. :(
impur
At least he went out doing what he loved. I loved watching that crazy guy.

spayne
This just breaks my heart! I am seriously sad that he was taken from us. (sad) Heck, I'm just to bummed to even say anymore. This is such a great loss!
Chief
If it weren't for people like Steve Irwin I wouldn't have been into animals like I am now. I loved watching his programs. He kept you interested. I think he was great for children. I wouldn't have half the knowledge about animals without people like him. I think all conservationalists are feeling a big loss right now. I know I am. Jay
JManrow
I went to the normally anti-zoo, anti-circus, anti-aquarium, anti-pet keeping, PETA website today to see what kind of Steve Irwin bashing might be going on. What I saw there was really unexpected... nothing but sadness for the loss of Steve and sympathy for his family. No one could deny his true love for animals and his family, and that he was a great conservationist. Steve has genuinely touched the hearts of millions of people Worldwide. The Courier Mail seems like the best that I have found online for up-to-date Queensland news. http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/ http://blogs.news.com.au/couriermail/watercooler/index.php/couriermail/comments/your_tributes_to_steve_irwin/P2430/ Please visit and donate what you can to: http://www.wildlifewarriors.org.au/

kriswaters
A whole year has past, and another great legend is still gone. I remember when Croc Hunter first came out and how people made fun of Steve. My daughter and I didn't care, we were glued to the TV for every episode and for all of the wonderful shows to follow. His holistic approach to educating millions of people on the various types of wild life was incredible. He led the way for many others like Jeff Corwin and such. I still pray for his family...God bless them and God bless Steve. Gone, but never forgotten. RIP STEVE IRWIN Kris and Rylie
