  1. I paid a deposit and have the USB meter. Jeff had both meters and says the handheld is back. I’ll return by the weekend.
  2. I’m hoping to make a net for my QT tank with my spare parts but I need a set of (4) corners and (4) supports from Red Sea. Wondering if anyone out there has these pieces lying around.
  3. I’m glad my adidas white elephant gift was stolen. Sorry Andy for sealing up the box like it was getting shipped internationally.
  4. Haha, I was looking at your 150 GPD system yesterday. I was calculating in my head how many gallons it’d take to offset the cost versus using more DI resin.
  5. So things have changed and I’m using way more water now that I have the 110 gallon tank. My incoming TDS have been consistently over 50 and closer to 60 the past few months. Is this because Portland Water Bureau is supplementing the water with another source? How long does it typically take to switch back? It’s burning through media much faster than I anticipated. I’d prefer to not have to purchase an RO unit.
  6. I’d love to have a tank that was showcase worthy.
  7. I can wait and sing up again since I'll be out of town for a portion of this week and next. Thanks for thinking of me!
  8. I should have called you to see if you could have helped me over the phone.
  9. I have the handheld and I’m waiting for Amazon to deliver a new battery. I got it with a low battery and I was hoping to take measurements the day I got it. Unfortunately that couldn’t happen already and it won’t be sooner than Tuesday to return it. I’m hoping my work schedule will allow me to drop it off Tuesday.
  10. I've always used the stock solutions from Randy's post. With those doses I'm maintaining 2-3 ppm for NO3. I haven't tried to test ammonia levels. I adjust the dose amounts based on the nitrate trend. I test nitrates about once a month. I keep the nitrate solution around in case the levels get too close to 0 and I want to do a quick boost.
  11. I was dosing ammonia in my nano, and I've been dosing ammonia in my larger tank (110 gal). The nano I was having to dose nitrates and I switched to ammonia since my reading concluded that corals can utilize the ammonia directly. My larger tank has been fallow since end of august so I wanted to keep up with a bioload. I started using Ammonia chloride and have switched to ammonium bicarbonate. The main reason is so that my alkalinity isn't impacted like it is with ammonia chloride (small impact). I have a ton of ammonia chloride left if you want it. So far it's kept my nitrates up and the corals seem to love it. I have it on a dosing pump to make dosing easy and consistent. I've been doing 5 mL/day in my 22gal and 13 mL/day on my 110.
  12. Deposit paid. I’ll grab the handheld this week.
  13. Great presentation, I was considering the triton system on the tank I'm upgrading to (120 gallon). I was previously using 3-part without trace elements on my nano. This method seems very promising at a lower cost.
  14. Can we do replies or DM rather than editing the original post? With the previous thread I did not get notified when I was tagged and subsequently missed my slot.
  15. I’ve got a Red Sea rsk 600 Red Sea Recommends for tanks up to: Light Bioload - 450 gallons Medium Bioload - 300 gallons Heavy Bioload (most common) - 150 gallons
  16. I've got a few coolers from recent livestock orders. I can put them with some freezer blocks to cool them down a bit.
  17. I'm trying to increase population of the ones I got from you. I think my basement isn't quite as cold as they like.
  18. Thanks for the ID. If no one on here wants it, I’ll see if cuttle can rehome it.
