  1. A couple people have asked so I thought I should share.   This is a private business.  They are not open to the public.

This is an awesome opportunity for our group.   They are truly a hidden gem.

Please park near the signs on the road prior to the address.  The signs are information about Netarts Bay and oysters.  I highly recommend stopping by a few minutes early to read the signs.

Only park at the hatchery if you need close parking.  The rest of us should park on the road.

Let me know who to contact...

I would like to offer $150 ReeFi gift certificate up for club raffle for this meeting.

I'll bring a Uno2 Pro if anyone is curious how it works.

What!!!!😮. That is amazing.  Thank you so much (from the PNWMAS group and specifically myself).

Our club is amazing!  So worth supporting.

  3. Lights

    1.  2 48” 50/50 reef bright

    2. 2 48” blue reef bright

    3. 5 360x kessil

    4. 1 kessil 500x above my SPS rock

    360x on with ramping cycle

My problem is they are hung higher than recommended resulting in lower par than initial intended.

I have done par meter twice, but not since adding the 500x.  (So par does not include 500x)

Sand is 80 (near edges) to 110 (center)

top of water runs 80 (edges) -280 (center)

    1/2 way down 80-120

im surprised that close to the sand runs a similar par than 1/2 way up on the sides.
Depth does not decrease par substantially in my tank.

  4. Raffle information:

We will raffle off three things.  I’ll announce one each day for the next three days.

First item is a Salty Raven Cup.

Same rules as normal.  PNWMAS officers in charge of raffle and tickets.  😜

@Brittany, can you confirm that is the correct address?  When I look at Google Maps, there is a Whiskey Creek Shellfish Hatchery, and also a Whiskey Creek Fish Hatchery.  They are two miles apart from each other.  I think the address you posted is the Fish Hatchery, not the Shellfish Hatchery.  Which one is correct?

    Whiskey Creek Shellfish Hatchery
    2975 Netarts Bay Dr
    Tillamook, OR 97141

    - or -

    Whiskey Creek Fish Hatchery

    OMG!!!!??,

  7. Shout out @CuttleFishandCoral

Last week I went to Vancouver to see a tank that had busted a seam.   I wanted an elegance pictured.  When I got there I realized 120 gallons of fish and corals had been placed in a 5 gallon tank and many were dying quickly.

I was totally unprepared and I took the lot.  Put all these poor critters in 2 gallons of yucky water.  As I drove away I’m like that isn’t going to work.

I live 2 hours away and I high tailed it to cuttlefish to get some advice and clean water.  I pulled in at 5:55pm just before closing and Jeff was still there.  🤪

    Saved this purple tip elegance!!

    Thank you Jeff !!!!

Talk about crazy differences.   I have three tanks, all connected as one system via common sump.

    1. 250g Main display tank - heavy flow, sps dominated
    2. 50g East frag tank - heavy flow, sps dominated + other stuff
    3. 50g West frag tank - setup as slow water movement tank, for things that want a gentler env

Today's discussion is about the West frag tank.  It's turned into a cesspool of red yuck.    The east and west frag tanks get the same inflow and outflow of water, from the sump, but have dramatically different recirculating within the tanks.  Reaching out to @Eatfrenchfries to see if our resident expert has any ideas why yuck would live here, and not in the other two tanks.

Is within tank water movement THIS much of a difference?

Wow I’m surprised about that.  Your tanks are looking SOOO GOOD.

how long did it take for Frag tank to get that yuck.  I guess when nothing else is there yuck takes over.  Yuck isn’t hurting that Goñi.  …

Unfortunately they let their domain registration expire on Feb 21, so now the website is not accessible.  If anyone has contact info for the owners, please contact them to inform them they need to renew their domain name before a scalper buys it and tries to extort extra money to get it back.

I’ve contacted them hopefully it will be resolved shortly
