My guess is that the Apex needs to make a call to the fusion site and for some reason your local (home) router wasn't allowing the connection.  Without manual control over a firewall you have to rely on the dynamic nature of the router to allow the outbound connection and that doesn't always work for non-standard ports or "services" that devices like the apex use.  I do network stuff for a living and this is my best guess based on your having to reset your router.

Yeah that could be a possibility. I'm just glad I am connected now lol

Did you get your token and get it all set up?

No token but after so many attempts and resetting my router a few times. I was able to finally get it to work. Thanks

  3. Hope everyone had a great holiday! My present came in time. Pretty much done besides waiting on some flat head extension plugs and then I'll plug everything into the apex and hang the doors.

Also, do you have any other device besides an Android to use for the setup?  I have helped many people with Apex setup, and those with Androids have always had issues.  It works much easier on an iPhone/iPad, PC, or Mac.

Sadly I don't use any apple device lol

No, it shouldn't take that long. Try this:

Open a web browser and navigate to https://apexfusion.com and log in with your Fusion account.  See if it lists your Apex and if so, click it to go to the dashboard.  If it shows up properly, then that means the Apex setup is complete and the app on your phone is just hung up.  If that's the case, kill the app on your phone and re-launch it, which should take you to the Apex dashboard.

It's asking me about some token? I don't see no token.

It looks like the left plumbing is supported by a single zip tie to a brass hook on the ceiling.   If so, I'd swap it out for stainless.   I've had these non-stainless hooks rust out in time.  If/when it goes, it looks like the plumbing could put really bad stress on the bulk head.

Nice clean build, and I like the fans in the back.  good planning up front.

Noted. Thanks i will replace with stainless

This is an amazing build and I love the rock structure!
May I ask why you have an ink bird AND and apex? Double protection...? Or triple..??

Thanks! I feel pretty good how the aquascape came out. For the heater I wanted the inkbird to do most of the triggering cycle and the Apex to only control it as an emergency shut off if inkbird fails for some reason

Thats a lot of gear to run a 80gallon tank...24 outlets total. I think I have less than that between my waterbox 190.5 and Red Sea reefer 170 lol

Haha it's built for an excuse to upgrade 🤣
