  1. Hopefully someone on here will give them a good home. The next step would be to give them to a shop I have been to a few koi places in the area in the past so I believe they’re still around. Someone will love to have them I bet! If you can post pictures of the type of koi maybe that would help draw attention too.

  2. I appreciate you guys!! I actually just went wild and had to catch it because it was literally chewing on my big black cucumber which I’ve never heard of and is kind of crazy to me.... but anyways they can release toxins if they die so I used some eggcrate and the net and got him caught I was very surprised as it was in a reefer350. But thanks again guys definitely know where to go in the future if necessary🙏🏻

  3. Hey y’all I have a majestic fox face that is just picking at everything now unfortunately. From mushrooms to sps and I even just saw him picking at my big black cucumber which is very weird he eats like a pig and grazes all day. That being said what’s the best fish trap you’ve used without moving rocks because I have an eel and worry I would smush him. Thanks for any advice and if someone local has one I can borrow/buy let me know. Also will be selling the majestic fox face once it’s caught if anyone’s interested it’s a beautiful fish.

  4. Hello I have this tank I bought from saltwater obsessions for sale it’s a sweet tank I really like where the overflow is on it. Cleaned it out and soaked the plumbing to clean that out. The acrylic sheet that you can see in the picture is broken where the filter sock goes in but it shouldn’t be too hard to make another one I’m sure saltwater obsessions could. I’m asking 200$ for everything it also has a nice top that it will come with but I did not use it and I believe I have a 7” filter media cup that works very well to come with. I am in Beaverton, let me know if you have any questions and don’t be afraid to make an offer! Thanks for your time!

    Just a quick update:

I did not end up getting a copperband.  However, I got a pair of peppermint shrimp from @Dakotapi3rc3 this week with a proven track record of eating aiptasia.  Today I noticed one of my rocks that had over 30 aiptasia is now nearly clean!  I'm pretty impressed.

If yours run out of aptasia or you are looking to move on from them I would be interested in them for a tank with some aptasia 👍🏻

  6. I got mine from Brett at paradise coral. Was very happy with the size of them and actually randomly I hadn’t seen them since I put 4 of them in and was worried that my wrasse ate them but went out to the tank this morning and saw these two guys going to work it was pretty cool You can see the second one actually eating an aptasia they have at least doubled in size. I then found another one so I am sure I have at least 3 still in the tank hopefully they breed and I have a bunch of them I can spread around.

Unfortunately this is a ugly part of the hobby. I know one member who does this quite a bit. Just better to never deal with the person and move along. It will come around eventually. Karmas a...

    Agreed!!

I feel you on this one, it reminds me of a time a couple years ago when I traded a regular ORANGE ricordia to a guy that used to be a member (I haven't seen him on here for a couple years) and a few months later he advertised some RED Ricordia mushrooms with pictures, we set up a time to meet and I took it home and realized that it was the same ORANGE Ricordia I had traded to him a couple months back emoji23.png that part I didn't care about, we all get corals and change our minds, what bothered me was that he tried passing it off as something it clearly wasn't, I believe he must have gotten a picture off the internet or something of a Red one and thought maybe he could get something worth more for it? After putting in my tank it was clearly identical to the ones I already had, just regular ORANGE ones emoji848.png when I tried messaging to see if maybe he gave me the wrong one he completely ignored me lol. It really wasn't a huge deal, but it still irritated me that he wasn't up front about what it really was. I think he had an oh s**t moment when he saw me and realized I was the person he originally got it from, I remember saying "hey didn't I trade to you a couple months back?" I didn't even notice it wasn't red until I got it in my tank lol. I really do think he just got a picture of a Red one off the internet and hoped he could get away with getting something worth a little more for it. Anyway yeah people can be less than honest with what they have

Now that is definitely worse then my situation haha that sucks I am sorry about that one! Guess I just will not do business with this person anymore and hopefully they understand now that’s not how we should do things here on the forums.

  9. I mention this because I got it in a trade and was told it was bought from a local store as a Deadpool, then after the trade was already made was told that it was bought wysiwyg and they “assumed it was one from years in the industry” even though it has none of the features of one besides its red but I thought I was trusting this reputable shops judgement not his 🤔does it seem legit to do that? Not a crazy amount of money so not overly concerned but I’m wondering if this is just how reefers with “years in the industry” do business and it’s normal as I am fairly new to trading corals online.

They call Deadpool because there are red and black and candy crush if different colors, they look like same type of mushrooms.

Yea definitely I’ve seen like purple/black coloration on them most of the time this one doesn’t have any of that but if it’s still a Deadpool maybe it can still develop at some point? It’s just pretty big so not to sure on how much more I see it changing or getting the other colors but who knows I guess. I was a little confused on the end though you’re saying it does look like a Deadpool though to you still? Seen them with the white specs?

  11. Definitely could be too much light. Also just overall health from too much nutrients or something can cause it to die off like this slowly so check your parameters and maybe try a little lower lighting👍🏻

  12. Anybody have a 70 gallon drop off from innovative marine they’re running? Very curious if people are liking it also would be interested if someone has one for sale. Also if anyone has the little 20 gallon drop off let me know if you really like it! Thanks for any information 👍🏻

Just saying but Instant Ocean Reef Salt is probably the best salt out there. It is the number one used among hobbyist, science research facilities, and city aquariums and is also the best bang for your buck.

I think all the fancy expensive salt is just name and they say it;s purer etc.

Instant Ocean is known for their constancy and is nitrate and phosphate free.

I'm sure people will argue the latter of it, but at the end of the day salt is salt.

Been down that path before, there is a significant difference in the quality from tropic Marin to instant ocean that is well documented. Also mixes faster, leaves less residue, also allows for less need for trace elements added etc.

87 doesn't seem crazy for the pro mix @200g, I think that's what it was at BRS six months so, or nearly so.

I'd love to find a dealer nearby, though! I was looking for the TM floating hydrometer a while back and couldn't find it anywhere. Eventually BRS started carrying it, but I was surprised no one around had it

Edit: I'm in North Seattle and don't even know of options up here

Lookin for the classic👍🏻 I looked when I last ordered it and it was 78$ last January so it has changed unfortunately. Yea a local source for the classic salt would be nice for sure.

Also, be careful working around those palys!

I definitely agree especially with kids, just be aware of what they are and what they can do and you will be fine!
