  1. Still have 3 or 4 pieces left. All are colored up again now.
  2. Looks like a bleached orange yuma to me. The mouth being open so much worries me.
  3. Had a seahare recently, he ate a bit of it, then stopped touching it and passed away.
  4. Does anyone local have any lettuce sea slugs? Or some extra flucanozole?😂 fed up with my bryopsis issues!
  5. Australia has the coolest corals from what I've heard. I'm planning a trip to the gbr early 2019 myself.
  6. I think I could be interested in trying this out🤔
  7. Thanks everyone. Ive been super anxious, as nothing has gone through that sudden of a change. So far some of my more sensitive acros appear to have a bit more pastel coloration. The rest of my sps, lps and softies seem to be just fine. Watching for alk burns, and further color changes. Changed 12g of water.
  8. Alk-7.9-8.1 Cal-440-460 Mag-1280-1300
  9. Definitely check before big water changes, and always match the parameters of the new water before adding.
  10. I'm at an hour since the overdose, and It seems as though alk has stabilized at 8.4, cal is pretty high at 480, and Mag has dropped a little to 1260. Will the kalk continue to leach elements into the water causing more fluctuation? Will the water change just shock the corals more than just riding it out? Currently mixing 55g of water. Have 12g on hand I'm getting ready to change right now.
  11. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-06/rhf/index.php A quality read that helped me understand reef chemistry much much more. Up until about an hour ago my parameters were stable at: Alk-7.9 Cal-440-460 Mag-1280-1300 Current: Alk-8.3-8.4 Cal-480-500 Mag-1260
  12. How large of a water change should I do? 30%? Total water volume on my system is right around 120g. Alk is reading 8.3-8.4, seems to be leveling out right there. My whole tank to clouded up a bit for about 15 minutes, Corals haven't retracted polyps or changed appearance, but I definitely don't want to risk long term damage.
  13. Mixed up a tablespoon of kalkwasser into a shotglass of ro water for some aiptasia control, I use an old 5ml syringe for aiptasia control. I filled it with 5ml of kalk paste, and the tip of the syringe ended up bursting after knocking down 3 aips, jetting about 4mls of kalk paste right into my display. Ive never used kalk for dosing, and don't know much about it other than what I've read for using it for aiptasia control. My alk has jumped from 7.9 to 8.3 since the incident. Feel like its still climbing. Is there anything I can do to prevent loss right now? Should I just keep testing and observing?
  14. I'll have to give them a look. The idea with the seahare was to have it eat as much as possible, then do a flucanozole treatment after it was gone to kind of help with keeping nutrients a bit more stable during the algae die off. Was hoping to have less algae to deal with when starting treatment though! This guy mowed through everything from gha and bryopsis, to excess macro that somehow attached to rock work, just didn't quite finish cleaning the tank by the time he passed unfortunately.
  15. I saw that, it's just a 6 bulb would be awkward to position with my radion, but an 8 bulb could replace it. Curious as to what kind of results I can get as far as coral colors and growth goes.
  16. That would be awesome! Let me know! A 6 bulb fixture would be a little awkward to position as I'm wanting to just supplement my led with more t5s, but I could definitely still be interested in a 6 bulb in trade for corals! Would pay cash for 4 bulb, or 8-10bulb.
  17. Also would be interested in 150w mh components. Wanting to experiment with the combination of mh, led and t5.
  18. I'm looking for 24" t5 fixtures. Ideally an 8-10 bulb, but would also be interested in a couple 4 bulb fixtures. Have cash or corals!
  19. Ive got a snowflake eel I plan on rehoming at some point. He's about 18 inches or so. If it weren't for my sandbed he would knock my rock structure over on a daily basis.
  20. I'd bid a few nice acro frags in trade for it.
  21. I figured. Think it will be okay to leave in the tank for a few more hours till I'm off work?
  22. If your sps arent looking great with a nitrate of only 10 there's a number of factors that could be causing the issue. Are they browning out? Rtn/stn? Bleaching? Ive had my nitrates hit 20-25 before in an sps dominant tank, and if I wouldn't have tested nitrates specifically I wouldn't have even noticed. Now I try to keep my nitrates around 5 in order to help cope with the lack of intensity I get from my current light setup. Any lower nitrates and I start to get pastel colors, any higher and corals start to brownout.
  23. I got a seahare about a month ago to help clear up a gha issue I was battling. He cleaned up my main rock structure really well, and then the day I was planning on taking him back I was given some corals and rocks with a bit of gha on it so I figured I'd keep him till the gha was cleaned off the recent additions. He was mowing through the algae since the day I got him. Today there's still a little bit of gha for him to eat, but when I stopped by my house on my lunch break I found him looking like this. Obviously not good at all. Ive been testing phosphate, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate regularly lately with both ammonia and nitrite being undetectable, and nitrates somewhere between 0 and 5. Things have been more stable than ever recently. I swapped out sumps a few days ago on my semi regular water change day and only changed the normal amount, using what I could of the old water in order to help prevent swings as much as possible. Everything else has reacted to the new changes quite well. I definitely don't think it's a water quality issue. None of my fish ever picked on him either so I'm not quite sure what could have caused this. Essentially what I'm wondering is should I leave him in there and give him a chance to potentially pull through, or is he too far gone for any hope of recovery?
