Wow, day 3 and one of these 26's is dead as dead can be. Here's hoping they honor their warranty service. Until then I guess I'm back down to subpar lighting. Anyone else have problems with AI products just dying?
I've had great experiences with their customer support over the years. My newest 26 was cutting off due to overheating, but the cooling fan was stuck and once I flicked the fan blade it started running fine and has worked fine for 6 months. Regardless, been very happy with their products and support.

All you need is a $16 auxiliary power adapter: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/12v-power-supply-neptune-systems.html
You plug this adapter into a regular wall power outlet and attach it to the Apex head unit. Then you plug your EnergyBar into the battery backup. You can then program each outlet how to behave when the auxiliary power adapter loses power.
Woohoo, finally an Apex add on under $20! I'll give this some serious thought and may hit you up for some Apex programming examples. Thanks!

I use a traditional UPS battery backup and have my Apex configured for power monitoring so it can selectively turn off specific outlets when the power is out. This provides a lot more flexibility than the EcoTech or Icecap batteries since you can power any type of device on battery. It's great to have the Apex send an alert so I know the power is out even when I'm not home. (obviously you need your Internet router on battery power as well for the alerts to be sent)
Hmm, how many $200 Apex modules do you need to set that up?

Look at the icecap one. Cheaper and does the same thing
Good to know!

I was gonna order one tonight but figured I'd see if one was available. The power went out at the house today while I was at work and appeared to be off for a while. I used to have the luxury of my wife being home during the day to keep an eye on things but she's back at work now. This was just the nudge I needed to pull the trigger!

Hey Trevor - I measured it and it’s a medium. Just so happened Terry had a used one on hand. Very nice and simple design.
That seems like a good size on a moderately stocked 120 I think. Of course a smaller footprint is nice, but I'd like to get a month or two between cleanings. How long are you thinking until you fill it up?

Hey Sean, what size skim mate locker did you get? The medium has a 4.5" chamber. I'm thinking about picking up one of these and a swabbie.

I was actually wondering about this thread a day or two ago, thanks for the update. Glad to hear the ninja nudibranchs are still doing their job!

That sure is heartbreaking Sean. But glad to see you pulled yourself up and carried on. I wish I could give you back some of the frags you gave me a while back but lost most of them during the tank transfer except for that Idaho grape monti which you said you still had! Your fish list is pretty amazing. I bought a small purple tang a while back for CNC and really like it. They are beautiful and have great personalities.

Killer, can't wait to come see the place! Do I smell a club meeting this summer?

I've had this gorgonian for a few years and it's grown a lot and been super hardy. About a week or more a go, it stopped extending polyps and been bare since then. Any ideas? Other gorgonian species is fine and all SPS/LPS are doing fine too, so not thinking it's tank parameters.

Great review! I had a post about a month ago asking what test folks on the forum used since I was looking to try one. I'm glad you posted, couldn't ask for a better comparison.

Yes, very nice for sure. Love the encrusting on the bare bottom. How does the clam do on the bare bottom? Did it attach?

Wow, 280 ml/day! Sounds like it's time to move on from 2 part! This will give you something new to nerd out on.

I had the same thing happen 2 weeks ago! Luckily no casualties! The cover has never fit that tight and I had cleaned it a few days earlier and broke the coralline seal holding it together.

Hey, congrats! Yep, this hobby can be extremely humbling and rewarding at the same time, but for some reason we keep coming back for more.....

I like the aquascaping idea.

We can make it fit! What is underneath where your aquarium is going to go?
BTW, that is not my closed loop system... random internet picture. [emoji4]
Good thing you came clean before the whole club is at your house for frag swap!!

So on the icp test out of Colorado no Alk or Phosphate in the test? Pretty sure ATI includes those
I was just wondering about this too. I know I can test this myself, but wanted to compare my test kits to the ICP. I love my Hanna alk checker, but hate those reagent packets with the phosphate checker. I just don't have much confidence. I'm curious about nitrates too. This, along with the free RO test I think has me sold on the ATI test. I'm not in a rush, so can wait for shipping.

Triton & ATI are both overseas and require delay in shipping before getting back. ATI offers 2 tests for RO/Tank Water for the same price ($10 cheaper than Triton) So there maybe issues with delay from ATI as well. ICP-Analysis is the only one I know in the States and Turn around time is about a Week from the time you ship it in, till the time the results pop up on the page.
Some food for thought, when sitting in a workshop with ICP-Analysis Owner; He discussed the equipment that he used, and exactly what specifications that equipment had been calibrated too. He stated that both Triton & ATI did not want to discuss their calibration methods, and there was little info in addition that could be found in reference to their testing. This could just have been to push units, but there is a video out there where 1 individual sent samples out to all 3 and all 3 came back with wildly varying results. Just something to consider [emoji6]
Great info, thanks for passing along.

Yeah, I panicked when I saw the arsenic level, so I sent in a sample of my tap water to make sure it's safe to drink. Came back at 0 arsenic. Something I'm putting into my tank must be adding it, or it's a false reading. The only things I put into my tank are BRS 2-part, LRS frozen food, nori, and occasionally some mysis.
I'll be sending in another sample of tank water next month.
Hmmm, mysterious. What salt mix do you use?

I had all kinds of problems trying to get my analysis from Triton but I may have just been jinxed. First sample got lost then my barcode didn’t associate the second time around causing more delays. Super frustrating. Haven’t tried the other guys yet.
What heavy metal did your test reveal?

I thought it be nice to give this a try. Who are folks using? Looks like Triton, ATI, and some Colorado based shop. Thanks.

Are you straying from the 2 part I see?
