Welcome I just started my build Today got some pics up myself of what I did for today I'm looking forward to watching all this grow the way I want to. The build is where it is at. I was going to go used boy would it have been cheaper but something about new that I like and know everything will work ok. Look forward to seeing your build when you get going.

I hate to hi jack but didnt want to start a thread that had dosing already started so would just ask here. My friend I cant get a hold of changed his number but I know he used that bulk reef supply BRS 2 part calcium and Alkalinity package if I get that and just use it once a day it should be ok ya? All this does is pretty much just feed corals and stuff extra ya? Again I never have used anything at all just check my salinity pretty much and I have always been good to go. I\'m trying to figure out if its worth it and find out more about it.

Guess we will have to just look at all my links as I build it up BTW I like to get things done 1 More note I like this over flow top off system it has built into it but I might run a 5 gallon jug on the right side where its all open and run a 5 gallon jug there run a longer hose to it for the auto top off but we will see how well works first before my plan of attack. My skimmer sits to low in the sump I think its 7 to 8 inch in the water need to look that up its 9 and half right now. I went and got me some egg crates so ill build something tomorrow. Also I want to make something for the top of the tank to I have huge piece of egg crate might just put it over the top for any jumping fish later. As I just mentioned the Gyre generator I got is huge I got the big one and like I mentioned the waves you can do and different formations it makes the water go in the tank is pretty amazing. I would highly recommend these. I will post more as I go

Yes that's what they are and also yes the skimmer is brand new so is the tank and stand . I just got it up and running right now Got the tank from upscales Travis.. I always liked going there or calling him or emailing him his customer service is why I keep going back., But I got the lights from a buddy still in the box he never touched them I took the plastic off I always used T5 'S So ill try these out I have 2 of these to hook up I didn't hook up the lights yet ill do that tomorrow. I bought the red Sea 150 and also the big bad boy Gyre wow this thing is amazing in how it makes waves it really looks like the actual ocean the way some of these settings on this thing can do I only played with it for a hour I cant wait to play with the controls tomorrow for this.

I have not dosed in 20 years and have not had any real problems at all. But for some reason im thinking about doing this for Calcium and Alkalinity Magnesium Portion A friend of mine used this on his tank and I loved how live and excellent everything looked. ​I have no idea as to what to do I don't want to get into it with dosing 100 things but maybe these 2 or 3 things. I was actually going to come post a thread about dosing but since this is up I was going to just ask. What he is using is the BRS 2 part package from BRS I don't really understand all this dosing stuff or the need for it all . 20 years ago people never had all this stuff and tanks could run for 10 years just change the water Although I didn't get into building myself and getting into it friends back then had a store. Anyhow so I'm learning why do people dose

You can find some Utube Videos on these let me tell you people in Florida use them all over i used them when i had my tank up here as well. You dont need to get out a toothbrush and these work great for cleaning some rocks lightly as well .. I have used similier to this product for 15 years thought id share this little trick and seach them up on cleaning you will see some folks use this and they are a wonderful tool to have for a Aqurium . Cleaning power heads and other areas are a snap

Here is what I'm at right now ill have everything I need Saturday After looking for a couple months I decided to go brand new everything nothing is used so I can do everything my way from the start 90 Gallon tank with sump and stand Duel 48 LED remote OceanReeve lights Reef Octopus classic 110 with the 1000S Pinewheel pump thing is a beast up to 130 gallons So far all I have are the lights and skimmer I will get everything else tomorrow I'll try and post pics as I go . Hopfully in the next couple days ill have things some what set up

Welcome back i just got back couple weeks ago myself i was gone for 2 years just now starting to get everything i will start my set up This Saturday.

Well i had something lined up yesterday a used tank it fell through on his end with family attachment which is ok So im still looking and if its used not spending that much because id rather have brand new if im going to pay more. I guess im some what negoable.

Oh ya i went to a get together a couple years back i thought i was only gone about a year i guess it was 2 years after talking to jeff on the phone yesterday. Because last time i was at his shop was when he was in the tiny place and was just about to expand. Well i had a used tank lined up and the guy backed out which is ok kids get attached to things and even if you want to get out its hard with kids which is ok so im still looking now

Did they fix the part about the site ebing shut down all the time Its nice to be back and thanks for the hello and replys and PM'S i did get a tank well im getting one today from a guy off the boards here ill get some pics up as i get things rolling. II ended up getting me a 55 gallon will be stocked and of course transfered to me. I will of course be willing to help out this guy with fraks when he gets back into it as well. Looking forward to meeting you folks. i knew a few folks but not sure i see them around yet on the boards. Anyhow it will be official once i start setting up tonight

Maxspect Gyre XF130 Generator Flow Pump​ ? I don't want to go with the powerhead /pump was thinking more of a wave maker now water movement since in Florida almost all the shops had them. The look nice like natural ocean movement and not blowing things all over like crazy. Anyone local try these out or another style just curious?

What i would like to find is tank lighting protein skimmer overflow/return pump sump system for reefs filter water movement instead of powerheads i used powerheads before but i hear these water movmenets are better??Im new to the water movmenet but like the idea better.?Ideas on that?
