1. This fish originally came from OXX155 last weekend. I ended up with this fish as the one I originally picked out a smaller tang more suitable for my tank but that little a-hole couldn't be found. I think this fish is amazing but I also feel bad because I think this fish deserves to be in at least a 200/300 gaL tank, minimum. Especially when considering the size of the massive tank the fish just came out of. I am not looking to sell the fish as I just picked him up but more am looking to trade for smaller cool fish(s). Thanks!!!! I also have a video of this guy in my tank that would give you a better idea of the actual size of the fish. If you text me I can send you the photo. I'll work on uploading the video to share. The photo with my hand next to the fish doesn't have the best perspective. It's huge. Like maximum size a Desjardini Tang can get. 2. That last one looks pretty fantastic. I feel like I should buy one, tear it apart, and reverse engineer it. When you say the older thermostat was this for an older model or on the smoker itself?
3. OOoo that's something I didn't think of. That's a fantastic idea.
4. Yeah, I have seen those. My friend and I pulled one apart. 13 bucks is pretty cheap but the components are really cheap and we both decided that it had a high failure rate but maybe in actuality it works just fine.
5. I think i'm going to take a hack at designing a temperature controller that but was wondering what people like about their current temperature controllers. I've only used temperature controllers and I feel like they were way too expensive for what the unit actually does. I want to be able to regulate any heater I decide to attach to it. Programmable for varying temperature ranges. LCD screen All of you have a lot of experience and can articulate features that could be improved upon for a Temp Controller. I'd just like some feedback if there isn't something super cool I thought of that could be incorporated.
6. Awesome, Thank you all. I went with the Eheim and the pellets. I really appreciate the good advise! Close.
7. Maybe, I might be interested. I doubt it would be possible for me to make it to Salmon Creek.
8. OOooo good thinking. I wouldn't have thought of that until it would have happened. Are you guys using the double chambered Eheim or the single column gray looking guy?
9. I'm often out of town and decided to look into buying an automatic feeder for when I'm gone (only a couple of days) has anyone had much success with a particular brand? Or has one laying around? It would be much appreciated. Thank you kindly!
10. It can be older. It's not for a fancy project. I'm just looking to see if anyone on here has a little Kessil that someone is willing to part with. Can be any of the three colors. I can pay Ca$$$h, trades, or a combination of both. Or any compact light really. It's for an 8 gaL rimmless. I'd like a light as my old light pooped out recently. thanks.
11. I have one. I'm not sure of the brand name but it's a nice enclosed setup with feet to set on an aquarium. It's I believe a 400w x 2 MH bulb and two side T5's. If you want I could take photos. I was wanting to clear it out soon.
12. I have a 30 gaL cube with stand and already plumbed. But I'll be selling it soon. I have enough tanks. If your interested.
13. Yeah, my little watchman goby (David Bowie) and pistol shrimp (aka Freddy Mercury) are awesome. But it has been a lot of work securing the rock work. It's definitely a too late now kind of dealio though. So in theory I agree the pistol shrimp is a good idea but not for reefs...... but I still like him. The poor tang though... :(
14. Does anyone happen to have one they no longer want. Mine recently died in a tragic aquarium accident involving a pistol shrimp and a rock (I had everything secured, so I thought) where my tang used to sleep. So I'm looking for another one and just thought I would put my feelers out on here before I went to a store. Thanks {sorry for posting it here. I realized after the fact. Should be in other category}
15. I have a fairly good sized female. 3"-ish. That being said she can be a douche. She gets along with the one other clown fish I have in my 100 but doesn't do well with more than just the one clown fish.
16. I have one. I was looking to list it soon. The dimensions are wonky though it's essentially a biocube. Not sure if that would work. But it has an overflow and is already plumbed. It's glass.
17. Be wary of him as a member. He hasn't been responding to my messages. Super sleazy.
18. I fully refunded him for the inconvenience with the expectation that if he kept it he would be putting the money towards buying the impeller it needed. I guess I shouldn't have refunded him. Serves me right for doing the right thing.
19. Bump Unfortunately the skimmer was not functioning. I had taken the skimmer out of my aquarium a few months ago with it running. I ran it through vinegar and didn't think much more about it. I sent it off not realizing it wasn't functioning as the impeller was shoddy. I granted jayR the refund he requested. However, now he's selling it on the Vancouver craigslist for $30-40. Very classy. So if anyone of you want the skimmer I gave to JR for free. Here is the link: http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/for/4714227301.html
20. My units have a manufacturing date of July 2012, Jan 2013, July 2013 and haven't been used consistently throughout. My preferences is to find an MP40 within a similar age range. Otherwise I'll be selling these units (or at least two of them) to finance a new MP40. So if anyone is interested in MP10's that have all their accessories and boxes then hit me up. Unless you have an MP40 within a similar age range.
21. ASM G-3 Protein Skimmer. Rate for up to 250 gaL. $65??? I have no idea. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make offers if that isn't a reasonable price. I'd like it to find a good home. Currently, it has been cleaned and has been living in a box. forgotten. alone..... :'( I inherited this skimmer when I acquired my 120 gaL. So I'm not really sure of the age. BUT it works reliably. There are cosmetic scratches on the outside of the skimmer and do not effect efficiency. Comes with pump, sponge filter dealio thing (see website photo for further clarification). It runs quietly. Nothing too complicated. I switched to a skimmer with a smaller footprint and don't have a tank that required the Umph this thing can kick out. http://www.aquacave.com/asm-g-3-protein-skimmer.html
