  1. Interested in either, so if you have one you no longer need, please let me know. I am Tigard but cna travel a reasonable distance and also Paypal and USPS if further away. Thanks - Tim
  2. Does anyone have a working, if used, ORP probe that I could buy? I want to see if it provides any further insight into the chemistry of my tank when connected to the Apex. Thanks - Tim
  3. Up for sale is my JBJ Nano 29G. It has both the intermediate LED hood (27W + moonlights) and the advanced LED hood (75W + moonlights + 12W actinic). The tank is less than a year old and includes the optional JBJ stand. It is in excellent condition and has just been taken down (on 3/21), cleaned and is now ready for its new owner. I only took it down as I just purchased a Red Sea 350 92 Gallon setup and the wife says I can’t have 2 tanks! Extras include: · JBJ Auto top-off controller · Two Koralia Nano 425 circulation pumps with controller · Bak Pak 2 skimmer with new pump · Via Aqua titanium heater with digital controller · Upgraded MaxjJet 1200 return pumps (<6 months old) · SpinStream rotating returns. · Coralife digital power center with timer Intermediate Hood · Daylight – 9 x 3 Watt – 14K · Moon – 2 x 1 Watt – Nite-Vu/456nm Advanced Hood · Daylight – 25 x 3 Watt – 14K · Dawn/Dusk – 4 x 3 Watt – Actinic/466nm · Moon – 2 x 1 Watt – Nite-Vu/456nm The tank is in excellent shape, everything is working and comes from a smoke free home. I have all the paperwork and original boxes. The tank was $389, stand $189, skimmer $125, the additional advanced hood was $300, and all the other upgrades come to over $300. I am firm at $300, which is 25% of the value I have in the tank, for a 1 year old ready to go system. I might be interested in swapping for corals of equal value. 4. Very little. The Netgear WNCE2001 is an N router so capable of ~300Mb/s but so far I have seen it using on busty packets for <1% channel occupancy (using wireshark). so it is very low in terms of required b/w.
  5. Me 2, interested to see how things are shaping up....
  6. Ah, cr@p, sorry to hear that. Hope it's not too bad!
  7. I'm into reefing.... "Oh great man, lets, roll one and chillax" No, not that sort of reefing!
  8. Agreed. As an EE I was unhappy with the original power supply....
  9. Update - new power supply and motor in the way from CoralVue. Good customer service at last....
  10. BTW the Netgear WNCE2001 is operating in bridged mode, meaning that the fact I am using it is transparent to the Apex.
  11. I'm using the Netgear WNCE2001. It works great and was simple to setup as it has WPS and my router also has WPS. I got the Netgear on ebay for $20 including shipping. My router is the Camcast supplied Arris TG862G/CT (DOCSIS 3.0, 802.11AC and VOIP). Next job is to try and figure out a compatible webcam that integrates with Apex Fusion.
  12. PS, I think having 2 of these running at 20% or so on either end of the tank is going to be perfect!
  13. Just bought a second one at UpScales today and this one works great. I am very happy, this thing can really move some water. I've added it to pump 2 on the Apex and it is programmed to run from 0700 to 2200, giving some less turbulent time in the middle of the night....
  14. Thanks all for the replies. Seems like the power supply is incorrect. New on on the way for free. - Tim
  15. I just got a 150 and when it works it seems like it can really move some water. Problem is that it is displaying a fault (red flashing in the center of the dial) from time to time. It is not consistent and when it does it, it cuts out. Not too impressed by that. One thing I noted was the manual says the larger 150 should ship with a 24V 4A power supply and the smaller 130 should ship with a 24V 3A power supply. Well, I have a 24V 3A power supply and a 150 so either the docs are wrong or the power supply is the wrong one. Any one else want to chime in with their experience with the Gyre? I got it from Amazon so I can return it in the next couple of weeks. Oh and BTW I disassembled and re-assembled the impellers just to check everything was in-place. Some reports on the web say that the error could be caused by things moving during shipping, which unfortunately is not the case here... - Tim
  16. Indeed, that was the tank. I've done a few upgrades since thin including an Apex Aquacontroller, 1/4HP chiller and Maxpsect Gyre 150. Jury's out on the Gyre as it is giving me error messages out the box and the documentation says the 150 should have shipped with a 24V 4A power supply and I got a 24V 3A power supply (that is specced to be for the smaller 130). Waiting for Maxpect to reply. If they don't reply in a couple of days, back it goes....
  17. That sounds like fun. I'll try to be there.
  18. I have a <1 year old JBJ 29G nano, JBJ stand, skimmer, LED lights (both intermediate and advanced LED hoods), wavemaker etc. I will post it on here soon but for now it is up on Portland CL for $300, which is <25% of what paid for it. I can send pics on request. It would be a great beginner tank.
  19. Belated introduction to me - Tim Fountain. I am originally from the UK, got my first salt tank, which was a converted FW 20G complete with undergravel filter and a ton of algae and pea green water about 25 years ago. My first serious reef was a 120G that was moderately successful, but tended to leak every few months from various fittings etc. That taught me about making things simple and foolproof. I moved to the Austin, TX in 2001 and started with a 100 tank, then decided to to big and bought a 75G as a holding tank whilst I worked on my 210, custom tank, stand, hood etc.Chiller, aquacontroller, MH, etc. basically, the works. It was a great tank but eventually life, the cost of running a large tank, learning to fly and having kids meant that I sold the tank for <20% of my costs. Ouch. I moved to OR in 2010 and didn't really think about reefing until last year when I thought why not, and purchased a new JBJ 29G nano. That kept the itch scratched until a month ago when I got the opportunity to buy a pretty much brand new Red Sea 350 9G with 25G sump, LR, many fish and corals, LED's, etc. etc. I think this tank is it, but I might need to remote the sump. I'll post some pics later. Well that's me!
  20. Reefer 350 92G.... The best tank I have ever owned!
  21. The other nice thing is you can keep some non reef safe fish such as triggers, wrasses and many of the angels. Oh and eels! I really enjoyed the easy maintenance when I converted a 120 to FOWLR.
