Sucks the blue tangs and the powder blues take it so bad . I forgot to mention that during the whole thing I dipped the yellow it was gone for a day or two and came back with a vengeance I def did more bad than good chasing him with a net dipping it in fresh water only to put him back in with the eel . This was my first tank yellow tang in a thirty gallon doesn't have much room to get away . Lesson learned . . I hope your fish get well and you can rid the tank of it . Gl

See but that's kinda proving my point you had it in the system but the new fish stressed it out and it showed up that's all I'm saying I had a yellow tang that slept right above a snowflakes hole the tang was tore up had the start of hlle ich fins all gnarled so I decided to start with garlic and selcon nothing decided to stay in front of the tank and watch a few hours see what was going on and sure enough every five minutes the eels biting his arse ... Removed the eel . A week later no ich big nasty hole in head gone .. Happy fish out grew my tank and is happily alive today ... Jmo ..

That could be argued as well .. I guess it's all personal preference and what works for you .what I'm saying is for instance my blue tang . Since I got the clown hosting the nem its beating the heck out of the tang . Now it has the ich the clown however is completely healthy and has not one sign of anything . It's obvious that stress lowers immunity . So simply fixing what the issues are in my case getting rid of the killer clownfish . The tang will simply feel a relief gain his slime coat fight the ich off right .. Because like I said most if not all fish has this in the ocean it just there able to to fight it off . Idk I'm crazy .

The whole thing confuses me . I know fish in the ocean don't go in qt . When there caught and stuck in a bag that's stressfull so out comes the ich . Then when we get them its placing them in a qt with the ich to not infect your dt then treat there or whatever freshwater dip with a sprinkle of kalk really kills the flat worms btw it gross watching them fall off I guess that gets rid off ich as well but after that what do you do I know ich has a life cycle and if you don't add any new fish it should run its course and die right ? I guess what I'm trying to say isn't it easier and less stressful for the fish to leave it in the dt feed with heavy garlic selcon nori sheets beef it's immune system up so it has the ability to keep its slime coat and fight off the ich itself then . The whole thing confuses me

Ya it's drilled for both over flow and return . If I would have done it myself I would have drilled it in the middle and had two returns but I can't complain for next to free . If you have ever been to oiab it used to be a frag tank there but he cracked it moving a power head or something idk but he was about to throw it away I'm like what I can fix that lol ..

Ya that ones nothing compared to the ones downstairs the elderly ocellaris pair .. They didn't want anything in the tank at all .. So since they didn't want to play nice I banished them to the downstairs tank .. So epoxy like the aquamend ?

Ya even having the rock out for awhile did a number on my sponges killed a lot and I'm learning that the sponges suck up a lot of silacate due to my diatom bloom I have been dealing with but the next purchase will be a rodi I'm tired of using ghetto top off .. That's been my hesitation to redo it I'm scared to take it out of water again idk . And now with all the coral everywhere it's a pain so like I said it would almost be easier to get another good chunks and have somebody do it probably sounds lazy but like I said I'm OCD about some stuff so just letting somebody do it could work . Right now I have a fruit stand on my sand bed so I'm hoping to get it all where it needs to be soon . I used a mini m&m bottle the plastic tube put 6 holes on each side and straws cut to about an inch then baited it with krill . Worms are dumb lol . But it's war because I had a black cap Jawfish I loved go missing they will eat sick fish that's for sure for whatever reason clownfish I have noticed don't like bottom dwellers much she attacked the Jawfish pretty bad and it went into the rocks never to be seen again . Then I had a clown goby who for a week wouldn't come out I'd have to spy to see if it was ok one morning I didn't see it and caught a glimpse of the bristles pulling it in a hole . CREEPY !! On a different note I know it's just sick or injured fish because my wrasse sleeps in the same spot .. Idk but ill get them ..

I'm just saying that my water blows and I have honestly took it straight from the tap and topped off a gallon no de Chlor nothing numorous times and not even a polyp closed . And I'm assuming u don't live to far were on the same water . Idk really just my thoughts what do I know . I do think you should have switched rocks because they'd absorb whatever was in the water and leach it out . Over time . You will have it back and running good again I can tell u care about your critters . Sometimes I think we mess with stuff to much . I get by with just water changes and my ghetto water . Idk . I hate to see people having a hard time and I hope you can fix it and get back to having fun again ..

So I upgraded from a 30 gallon to a 40 breeder. I got for free it did have a broken side panel other than that it came with a stand a 30 gallon truvu sump and was already drilled with returns and overflow in place . I bought the glass for 13 bucks and silicone for five it was a pain in the butt getting the cracked panel out . It was discussed to just panel over the crack and I would have if I wasn't planning on using it for a display . Glad I took the time to remove the panel . I really wish I would have took pictures of this process it was fun . After I got it all leak tested I still didn't sleep for a week thinking something would happen but three months later and no leaks so success . My only complaint now is I wish I would have rethought the scape I wanted a minimal amount of rock and lots of swimming room for the fish . Now looking at everybody's 40s makes me want to re do the whole thing and grab another 30lbs . The tank is stocked with mostly lps and sps . I just rid myself of the last two mushrooms . I have a black and white clown hosting two bubble tips sad she beat her man to death I did have another one . Hmm . Lol . I'm waiting to get another . The nems will come out after my girlfriends tanks ready for them . I also have a cleaner wrasse an a baby blue tang . But when he gets a little bigger he will be going to oiab to swim the display .. Two shrimp a peppermint and a scarlet couple snails and hermits .

Since I set up my 40 b and even before .. Three years I honestly just use tap water I have never been able to tell the difference honestly . I know it's rather ghetto and I'm looking into a rodi .. I have a tub that has a hob running carbon and that's about it . I will say that I get a bit of diatom on the sand from the silicates building but I just grab a new bag of chemi pure .. Other than that my creatures all look happy . If your curious to know what your tds is go grab a test kit at oiab for 10 bucks
