250 watt reef brite ballast, 20k radium bulb, light hanger made my spectra, and the enclosed pendant, everything for 80 bucks. I’m in Oregon city. The ballast can be controlled by an apex to dim it and or ramp it.

Awesome deal. Someone could buy that and part it out, keep nice corals and make well over their money back. [emoji848]

He sells mostly through Facebook, now.
I hope with all the new changes it doesn’t hurt his business too bad! Facebook is putting the hammer down, total bummer.

Skimmer is at its new home!

Well I’ve taken multiple “breaks” and for me it typically is due to not having time, the line of work I’m in can get crazy so it’s nice to not have one when it’s busy but I always end up coming back. It’s weird to not have a tank but when traveling or working 60 hour weeks it’s nice to come home and not have to fuss with it.

I'd be up for trying to fix it or repurpose the parts. I'll pm you
Sounds good

I bought this skimmer and sadly it showed up broken. Since coralvue refunded me and is letting me keep it I figured I’d give it to up for grabs if someone thinks they can make use of it. It does come with a new Waveline dc2700s. If you ordered a volute you could probably use it on a skimmer body of your choice. The mount where the pump attaches to the skimmer is broken. I tried to glue it but to such luck. I did manage to just sit the pump in there and it makes skimmate but I wouldn’t run it this way. Im picky. Free but a frag or something would be cool I’m in Oregon city

Yikes, they sending new parts or refund? If it was just the pinwheel it wouldn’t have been as big a deal...sheesh! Little more bubble wrap next time lol
Not quite sure yet, I’m assuming a refund but I haven’t heard back. Giving them some time though. Hoping I hear back by the end of the week.

Holy crap dude, how bad was the RLSS messed up? They refund you? I feel bad for the recommendation, mine just came in it’s OEM box and was fine in shipping. Glad you got the BubbleMag going though!
Not your fault!! It would have been a killer deal if it wasn’t broken. I still appreciate it!

Got the temp skimmer in, I may end up just running it for a while since I got it so cheap and the RLSS I ordered showed up broken :(
I’m debating running a chaeto reactor and calling it good or just tossing in a little crate with a ball of chaeto in it and letting it tumble in the skimmer section.
I started dosing vodka so I’m curious to see how long it takes to find the amount my tank needs to keep levels down and algae under control. As of now the tank stays pretty clean so it may not take much! Had to bump the calcium doser up a little bit even with the little amount of coral in the tank. Finding the sweet spots is challenging but fun. All of the fish are healthy and doing great. We picked out a Midas Blenny and will soon trade in Dory. Now it’s time to let corals grow and obviously add more!

That’s my trick with crazy skimmers. Run the drain tube into a bucket. Whatever is breaking water tension will get out and then the skimmer will behave. Works everytime
Yes sir! After 10 gallons of the skimmer draining into buckets it made this today. So it is definitely getting better. Soon I’ll be able to adjust it to skim dry!

Thinking it might be the vodka. I just let the skimmer run into a 5 gallon bucket, it “skimmed” about 3 gallons of water with a ton of foam and now it’s acting somewhat normal. But I’m assuming I’ll have to do this 3 or 4 times since it’s mainly pulling from the sump as I can only run the return pump for about 5 minutes of the 10 minute time it takes.
