Glad it attached fast for you. Just remember not to move it now. If you tear the byssal threads by trying to move it, it more than likely will die. Maximas are meant to be on rocks, so good job at placing. My only thought would have been to attach it to a small rock so you can move it. I would have started it low in the tank just so it could get used to the lights. It's in the past though. Just keep up on water changes and watch your levels and I'm sure all will be well.

This thread is great! We are going in a week and this is cool to hear since we are staying on Kaanapali beach. I remember black rock from my youth and thought it was awesome. However this will be my first time Scuba/snorkeling since I've known anything about reef tanks. Should be a whole new experience. Congrats on getting married!

Yah it's all the way down the plug on the other side. Would have been nice to have gotten some of that growth vertical, but all my acro's encrust like crazy first. Probably because I blast them with 2 MP40's. They're just holding on for dear life. (laugh)

I remember a tank somewhere, but honestly it could have been in the airport. I just picked Mandalay because they seemed like the best chance for a correct guess. Lol. I truly was drunk the entire time. Put it this way.... I don't drink and play poker, so I've never played a hand in Vegas.(laugh)

Ok I'm gonna raise the price to 120, but I'm gonna add in three sps frags. Greg Hiller Blueberry, Tyree Bali Tri color, and Upscales microlados. I'm not gonna take pictures and post them though, so you'll just have to trust me. I'll give a nice frag of the blueberry and at least 3/4 inch frags of the other two. This is an insane deal, but I need room.

It's gonna be decently romantic. We talked my brother and sister in law into going as well. we are also going to the Collie Buddz concert. He's certified scuba as well and our wives both like to lounge in the sun. My lounging days are over after having melanoma skin cancer twice. Not gonna keep me from enjoying my life, but purposely laying out for cosmetic reasons is a thing of the past. Lol

Going to Maui end of September. I'm wanting some suggestions on dive spots. I'm thinking Molokini crater or lanai and curious what others think. I am PADI certified so I'm talking scuba not snorkel. Any other suggestions on must do's I'm open to suggestions. We are staying on Kaanapali beach. It's gonna be so bad ***! I've been to Maui twice before so not my first trip, but it will be my wife's first trip. I'm gonna get her a lei greeting to welcome her in Hawaii fashion. We are definitely gonna zip line and parasail, along with boogie boarding and some snorkeling at black rock since she is not certified scuba. A trip to Hana is not gonna happen due to how car sick she gets, but I'm hoping on taking her on a sunset sailboat trip.

Bristles are creepy creatures, but I concur with Toby that they're great cuc members. If they get too big then I pull them out. I guess I don't want them getting overly hungry and maybe eating something questionable. The picture you took doesn't really look likes bristle to me though. I would trash it just to be safe. Could just be a bad pic, but normally they have more bristles for feet and look more bristley than that.
