What are the dimensions of the tank, if you don't mind sharing?

I apologize if I missed it, but may I ask the dimensions of the tank and the stand?

Zoa pricing is something that I will never understand... how and why some people will pay hundreds of dollars for a single polyp is beyond me. I guess they are trying to beat the bandwagon and get ebay rich, that is if they don't melt away on them...
-
I must be one of the few people in the hobby that like the Reef Keeper Lite. It's really hard to beat what you can do with it for $120... heater control, timers, temp, etc. Heck, buy an SL1 for an extra $80 and you can use it as your ATO as well.

A firefish with any of the other species you listed should be fine, just make sure that you have a tank cover of some type, they are known jumpers.

Is that a Deep Blue Profesional tank?
-
I wouldn't worry too much about it, the chance of them reproducing and even surviving in a home aquarium is pretty slim.

Deffinitely Eagle Eyes or Watermelons.

Currently I am running a 400w Radium supplemented with ATI true actinic and purple plus. I love the color and growth, but unfortunately the new tank is going in the living room and the wife wants a light fixture that is a little more sleek looking, which is understandable. I have also done the "full spectrum" DIY LED fixtures in the past and to be honest I wasn't that thrilled with them. Way too much time and money just to get them to not "look DIY". Right now I am leaning towards a Radion, primarily due to looks alone, and I should be able to tweak it ro grow zoas and LPS just fine. Man I hate these decisions... building a new system is the most fun and stressful part of the whole process! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Agreed, I would rather move coral to acclimate rather than adjust the light. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Thanks for explaining the difference between the two. Doesn't seem like the dimming I'd worth the extra expense. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

The fixture on my shortlist was the ATI Dimmable Sunpower. What hurts is shelling out $560 on the fixture and then another $160 in bulbs... the more I think about it, the more I am considering the evil that is LEDs.
-
Right now I am only using super actinic and purple plus as supplement for my Radium.

I am in the process of breaking down my 200g cube, 4x4x20, which is rimless and all glass. No scratches and only 3 years old. Stand would go with it, but it is not skinned. Also have a custom sump...
-
An 8 bulb fixture would cover more of the tank, but I was worried about too much light, then again I have never done a T5 only tank, I have only used them as a supplement in the past.
-
First a little bit of background... I currently have a 200g cube that I am in the process of shutting down and selling off. The tank is lit with a 400w Radium and 4x 39w T5s and I absolutely love the color and the growth, but with two small children at home I just do not have the time for the maintenance that a large tank can require. Once the tank is gone I will be replacing it with a >/< 60g tank that I am planning on lighting with strictly T5. Now, on to my question... the new tank will be approximately 30x24x16, so I am looking at 24" fixtures, but the question is do I need 6 or 8 bulbs? Stocking plan is primarily softies and LPS with maybe one or two SPS pieces down the road. Thanks for looking!

Once you go rimless you can never go back... Looking forward to build pics.

Need help with new saltwater mixing station.
halcyonism replied to g2theram's topic in General Discussion
Adding the heater and pump / powerhead will help dissolve the new salt as well as keep the water from going stagnant. -
Blowing a small fan across the top of the tank works wonders, but of course you will evaporate more water. Still a lot cheaper than a chiller...

Maxspect Grye 150 - Thoughts and feedback?
halcyonism replied to timfountain's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I had some issues with my first one out of the box and CS from Coralvue wasn't much assistance. I finally got it working and am still not sold on them to be honest. I think I'll go back to Vortech. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
