  1. Does anyone know a store that carries PH calibration fluid? I think my Apex probe is whacked out (I'm getting readings of 8.5 and higher), so I think it needs to be calibrated again just to make sure. If u know of a place that sells it, please let me know, thanks.
  2. Read up on dosing "hydrogen peroxide".....worked wonders on my dino's. I have an entire thread on my experience with it, so take a look if u are interested.
  3. Thanks for the compliments! The frag rack will be going away soon......I'm thinking about putting it in my refugium, but I need to workout some sort of lighting so the fuge can work as a frag tank too. If u have any ideas, please let me know.
  4. Here's a little update on the tank......water parameters are still staying stable. Alk 8, Cal 450, Mag 1300.....I've had to dose my alk to keep it in the 8's, I also had to raise my mag from 1200 to 1300, but calcium has never really budged off of 450. Just thought it was interesting since my last tank constantly ate my alk and calcium nonstop. Frags are back in the tank and doing well. Fish are happy and eating great. To celebrate the new tank I purchased a Potter's Angel and a Flameback Angel, both are doing great. My Flame Angel tried to bully the Potter's for the first few days, but they seem to be buddies now. I am having a problem with the Lawnmower Blenny I recently got.....he constantly chases my Flame Hawk on sight and I don't know why. Are these 2 fish not compatible? I don't know much about Lawnmower's, but he is super aggressive towards the Flame Hawk, and I am afraid it will end in death one day. Here is a new tank shot, kinda messy with frags all over, but I will organize it soon.....
  5. I am looking for a few of the following encrusting frags: Mystic sunset Chili Pepper Superman Apple Berry Apple Jack Reverse Superman Or anything with some nice color I am also trying to find a frag of Forrest Fire Digi.....Let me know what ya got, thanks.
  6. Enjoy your special day! And don't worry, we are ALL getting old (sad)
  7. Brandon, what happened, why are u selling your setup?
  8. It's hanging about 6 inches from the top of the tank. It lights up the whole room....I'm gonna need a canopy sooner rather then later
  9. Well, I finally got to take some PAR readings on my new ATI fixture, and everything looks great. I think my coral will flourish under this light....I'm getting 500's in the center sand bed! Nothing like my old tanks lighting, where I was barely hitting 300 at the top of the tank. I'm surprised I was able to grow any SPS in that system. On a down note, I forgot to rinse a few of my frags, after dipping them in Coral RX. Nothing is wrong with my tank or the frags, but the Coral RX is making my skimmer go crazy and overflow anytime I have it on DOH!. I setup my carbon reactor and did a water change, but it might take a while before it's out of the system. Hopefully everything will be ok without a skimmer for a bit. On a good note, I decided to put some fish into the tank, and all is well. I'm still working on my picture taking, but I will try to post some in the next few days. But in the mean time, here are my PAR readings....
  10. That was some sweet video! I love looking at awesome tanks
  11. I agree....it seems like these sites over exaggerate on the amount of CUC most people need. I thought the link I listed was plenty for my size tank
  12. Found this on Reefs2go.com...... https://secure.reefs2go.com/c=AuuJbI9Lp01Jf8mYyYdxWwvcz/s=reefs2go.com/product/INV_CUC-MEDIUM/Live-Saltwater-Algae-Eating-Crew.html What do u guys think?
  13. I looked into reefcleaners, but they recommend a lot more snails then I think I need, plus the price was really high (including shipping). That's why I wanted to ask the PNWMAS members what they thought, then I could compare.
  14. So what does everyone recommend for a good clean-up-crew? I'm starting to get some algae growth on the rocks and walls of my tank, and want to stay ahead of the game before this stuff explodes. Let me know what u guys like for CUC members and what u would recommend on how many I should get. Here is the link to my build if u want specifics on my setup..... http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?31699-J-Dog-s-NEW-60x30x24-BUILD&highlight=
  15. Wow, nice pictures and names along with them (scratch)......Matt definitely couldn't have done this alone. Kinda looks like Kim and Beth's pictures, I wonder (whistle)......
  16. Not much to update....put a few of my original frags into the new tank and they seem to be doing well. Alk, Cal, and Mag all seem to be stabilized, and haven't had to dose yet. I'm working on my picture taking skills, so hopefully the next pics I post will 100% better than anything I've taken in the past. Once I get the other frags in, I'll update with some pics
  17. I was thinking about getting an bubble tip anemone (probably rose colored), but I didn't know what a good price was for one. Can anyone with some BTA experience let me know? Thanks
  18. Well, I keep testing my water and everything looks good.....I'm not sure if my tank did a mini cycle or what, but things seem to be stabilized (scratch). I put my GOC frag and a few zoas in the tank this past weekend, just to see how they would do, and they all seem happy. All the zoas are open and the GOC has great polyp extension. I'm not sure if I should wait or not, but I want to transfer more SPS into the tank. What do u guys think?
  19. I know I'm last, but better late then never. Here is my setup.... 185 gallon acrylic tank w/55 gallon sump ATB 1050 in-sump skimmer Vortech MP40 x 2 ATI 54x10W Powermodule Lighting Fixture Tanks is still brand new, so I'm not running or dosing anything at the moment. This GOC frag is the first coral to go into the tank so cross your fingers (scary). .....And last, but not least, weighing in at a hefty 7mm, and fighting with the BLUE RULER....... He might be the smallest now, but he's gonna pack a punch by the time this GOC is over!(cheer)
