    Engineer Goby

weird i always herd 1 or a pair. Maybe now that they are sexually mature they are not male female. I guess they cant all be as easy as clowns and dinosaurs lol. (really bad Jurassic park reference if you didn't catch it)

    Cycle needed?

Every thing turned out OK but i did get a .25 ppm reading of ammonia, and the stress of that was not worth the instant gratification. Next time i think i will wait. I used the sand but i had to clean it with the old tanks water. So happy to clean that sand bed finally, after four years it was DIRTY!
  3. CONGRATS ON THE LITTLE ONE!!! My son is named William too, we call him Liam. Love the fish tank by the way. :-)

    Deep Water Acropora

can real deep water sps be kept under t5?
  5. Do i really have to cycle my 125 or can i just move everything from my cycled55? Can you sence my impatience lol.
  6. This beam has a support coming down from it about every 4 feet. I think it once was the outside foundation before they added on another 4.5 feet. It is wierd under there I found two boulders the size of voltswagons. I guess it was easier to bild over them then to trie and move them. I have a level on the tank and I check it constantly, so far so good.
  7. Get some hair algae to smother it, then just throw in a sea hair. kidding only kidding.
  8. I had the tank buffed it looks great!!! If any one needs a tank buffed Jeff is your man! Send me a pm if you need his info. I filled the tank and the floor is fine. I crawled under the house and found a main beam, then centered the tank over it. Thanks for all the help everyone. :-)

    Dirty!!

So i just went to fill my new tank and... My python filter was left with water in it and now its mildewed? dirty? moldy? black! After that discription my question will probably seem crazy but, can i use it? I ran hot water through it in an ettempt to clean it out but it's still black in spots. The water running out is clear.
  10. Cool! Thanks for the soaking tip. Im going to go pick up some pots :-) With any luck they will be purple in no time.
  11. Does anyone use terra cotta pots in thier tanks? Is thier any reason not too, assuming they are clean and unglazed. for that matter would it make any differance if they were glazed? Any thoughts on porcelain. (scratch)
  12. Keep them both :-) Then when they split again you will have 4... 8... 16... 32...

    Sea hare

My sea hair lived for a year, the hair algae would come back and he would find it. Eventually he found his fate with the intake to the protein skimmer :-( So sad i almost cried, i loved that little guy. I never saw him eat anything but hair algae though, so if its all gone he most likely will starve (eventually...).

    black spots?

I just picked up a new cleaner shrimp. It has blotchy black patches, not really spots. Is it OK? I don't really want to let him out of the bag if its infectious. (scratch)
  16. No i wasn't there in 06, but i was there in 09. There is an 09 video but you cant see me, i'm directly behind the camera man. At least i was until i lost control of my bike and wedged my head under the guardrail, I love my full face helmet. :-) I'll see if i can't find a pic.
  17. I quit zoo bombing and have a couple zoo bomb bikes i would like to sell or trade for something salty. Would sell you a bike for 25. If your wondering what zoo bomb is check out youtube or zoobomb.net I also have all the safety gear, full face helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, shin pads, gloves. All you need is a lot of guts and no common sence. (laugh)
  18. Thanks snowpunk she sent me a pm :-). I think your right, even if i have to wait to set up the tank i want to do it right.
  19. Ill post pics soon, i guess i should start a build thread. It is acrylic, tru vu. When i bought it he said it had been buffed at seahorse. I could tell it still had scratches when i first saw it, but now that i look closer it has a LOT, most will be less visible with water (i hope...). After buying it i don't really have the funds to have it buffed and buy all that salt i'm gonna need. If i don't have it buffed and wait to set it up ill probably regret it though ? Poor planning on my part :-( On a lighter note the stand and hood are beautiful!
  20. I bought the tank :-) Its pretty scratched up though :-( Oh well its better than what i have, and its big, really really big.
