most assuredly overkill for a 20 long, id probably have to mount that thing a foot over the tank, at least LOL and i wasnt planning on making my canopy nearly that big but, rick, message me, we might be able to work something out, if i can figure a way to mount it, i might just go with it lol

ok, sorry, but, my personal opinion, but, reagan was probably one of the top 5 presidents this country has ever had, now, did i agree with everything he did, no, but, do i think he was a great pres, most definitely and im sorry, but, lincoln does NOT make my personal top 5 presidents they are, washington, andrew jackson, teddy roosevelt, jfk and reagan again, that is just my personal opinion

just to end my side of this discussion, as i will not be posting further in this thread, but will reply via pm if anyone feels like continuing said discussion. ok, while i am quite new here, i feel i must get in on this conversation. while my own views may be viewed as being a conspiracy theorist, or an anarchist, or what not, i really do not care, i believe what i believe, an thats one thing that will never change. my view on bush, while he was not a bad guy, and had great plans for this country, he was blocked at every turn by the elitists, including his own father, and was pressured, read forced, into acting the way they wanted him to act. while not the smartest man in the world, he has a good heart and genuinely wanted to do the best for this country, that things turned out differently is not entirely his fault, although he cannot be absolved of all blame. my view on personal rights, and personal beliefs. i am an athiest, according to some christians, and a satan worshipper to others, i do not foist my beliefs on anyone else, but, my gf and i both have the same beliefs, both of us were raised in a christian household, but, after much study and discussion, have decided tthat we can no longer believe in the bible. i feel, rightly or wrongly, that we all control our own destiny, and would be much better off with NO government control in our lives, period, end of story. my view on obama. if i was a christian, obama would be the anti-christ, he's totally controlled by the elitists, he is the one they wanted elected, because they knew that he could be easily controlled, much more easily controlled than bush. he also happens to make bush look like a genius of stephen hawkings caliber. and to top all of that off, he has turned his back on every promise he ever made during his election campaign. none of what he said he was going to do, even though his PARTY controls both the house and the senate, has come to fruition, hell, he's even sending MORE troops into iraq and afghanistan, contrary to his promise to pull all troops out by 2010. my view on the direction that this country is going is that within 2 years, we will have a complete and total breakdown of all forms of government in this country, and possibly even the world, people around the world are getting thouroughly fed up with their individual governments treating them slaves, which, whether you agree or not is what i feel is happening, especially in this country. and that is my thoughts on all of this.

hey guys and gals, just a little want ad here im slowly putting together parts for my new system, starting with DT, fuge tank, and what not, along with an upgraded light over my current 20 long. right now, im in the market for a light, preferably a halide, but will go with a T5HO system, for my 20 long current DT that will eventually become my frag/grow out tank. ive got roughly 100 bucks to spend for said fixture, and it doesnt have to be a fixture, it can be a retro kit, as ive got plans to build an awesome canopy for the tank, yes, i know, a canopy over a frag tank, but, i think it'll look neat, so oh well lol. so if anyone has a MH or T5HO fixture or pendant or retro kit they want to let go for cheap, let me know, and we'll see if we cant work things out. thanks

thanks mike and rick, ill have to snag some of you guys to help with the setup once we get everything purchased, im stillt rying to talk her into letting me get a vortech for the DT, i figure with 2 returns and the vortech, ill have more than enough flow for a 40b, and as for the 20 long frag tank, well, just a single return in the fuge side of the tank should do me for flow there

thanks rick, if it was a 33 long, id gladly take you up on that offer lol my biggest problem with standard tank sizes is i dont like tall tanks, and i consider anything over roughly 16" tall, and while i love my 20 long, its just not deep enough for me, i really like an 18" deep tank lol

moovinfast, for lights, id look at the 178w fixture ive found on ebay, its a 150w mh pendant with 2x14w t5 actinics, its perfect for the size tank your looking at. im actually planning on running 3 of them for my new system, one for my frag and 2 for my dt

i have rick, i just figured that since i was going through all the trouble with the new tank, which will be handbuilt as well unless i can find a 40 breeder at a decent price, i figured what the hell, why not do the frag tank at the same time lol. but, if i can find said 40 breeder at a good price, im just going to compartmentalize a 20 long, and use a 20 long as my sump on my DT as well lol

thanks for the heads up beckie ill go ahead and describe the frag tank im looking to build, its going to be an AIO, 30"x12"x12", overall, with 20x12 of that being used for frag trays, and then the final 10x12 will be split into 2 compartments for filtration, its kinda hard to fully describe, but, when its fully done, i think you guys an gals will be quite impressed by it.

rick, this is a [language filter] nice set up, i might just have to enlist your help when i start building mine, my frag tank for sure is going to be acrylic, simply because it is a frag tank, and with the design im using, acrylic does work the best, but, im not so convinced on acrylic or glass for the DT thanks for giving me the heads up to this

sweet, thanks rick, i was actually told today at the home depot in jansen beach to check out tap plastic, and im pretty sure thats the place my father in law suggested to me, thanks for the heads up man. and glass is an option, i was lookin at the acrylic simply because of the weight, im trying to save as much weight as i can on this since it is going to be upstairs

about 15-20 minutes north of battleground washington, roughly 30 minutes from vancouver and roughly 45 minutes from portland, about 20-30 minutes south of lake merwin/cougar area

if you guys can afford them, id suggest looking at multiple, 2-4 vortech mp 40's, with the controller that allows you to control all 4 of them, if you go with that many, it will make things extremely simple, and allow you to alternate, simulate, and adjust flow with the touch of a button

hey guys and gals, im quite new to the site, just joined yesterday i think it was, and just wanted to introduce myself. ive got a 20 long saltwater reef tank currently that im slowly working on putting the pieces together to upgrade to a 40 breeder, or something similar, looking into possibly building it myself out of either 1/2" or 3/4" acrylic, with a 20 long, or similar, sump, along with a custom built frag tank that should be capable of holding 50-100 frags. im still looking for places to buy the acrylic along with the weld-on #4 that ill need, so if anyone in the vancouver/portland area knows of a good place to pick up acrylic sheets, pre-cut would be nice, please let me know. my current stock list on my 20 long is a bar goby and a melanarus wrasse, with purple deaths, purple fisions and standard brown button polyps, along with hairy mushrooms, regular mushrooms, and 2 yumas, with roughly 30lbs of live rock. all that will be moved into the new tank, and my new frag tank that i plan on building is going to be an AIO that ive designed myself, i know it will work as a friend in texas has the exact tank, just on a larger scale, and its working perfectly for his frags. im a frequent customer of rose city aquariums, for me, they're the nicest store around, both stock wise, price wise, and most definitely customer service wise. once i do get the new tank set up, along with the new frag tank, ill be doing a large order from vivid for some of their high end zoas, as that is my thing, and once i get them growing and have them fragged up, i will gladly sell them to anyone here, at a much discounted price from what vivid charges. like most of the people here who do sell frags, im not in it to get rich, i just would like to be able to fund my saltwater addicition by selling the frags, so you will not see outrageous prices on my stuff. thanks
